Great vendors! Great music! Great weather! Well attended event! Had a blast at Cambell's Oktoberfest and was impressed by all of the local vendors and business owners who were celebrating in showcasing their businesses with the community. Such a smart way to highlight the hard-working business owners in in the neighborhood. Parking is a little tricky, so be prepared to circle a few times to find a spot or come early. Hats off to the downtown Cambell Chamber of Commerce for throwing such a wonderful event. read more

We had a great time at this event! There are plenty of food and drink options, not only from the vendors but the local business too! We did wish that they had more seating throughout the event. Lots of different local musicians playing on different stages. There is a 5/10k race prior to the start of the event. We signed up for this race and enjoyed our run. The course is out and back and was run on a paved trail. They provided snacks prior to the start of the race and Square Pizza Guys were handing out free pizza sqaures after the race. We will definitely attend these events next year! read more

We love the Campbell Oktoberfest so much that we attend annually. Buy drink tickets first and then go up to the stations for some nice cold beers (Festbier is our go to). Great opportunity to try out the vendors as well as local restaurants! read more

Thanks Bharti (Bee) S and Chatan S for showing interest on Yelp to this event, which encouraged me to attend! Then of course, I bumped into Yelp CM Katie R!! Quality/Quantity - Very good event, approximately 3 blocks long, not including side streets. Plenty of drink booths, all of which the lines moved at a very reasonable pace. Gordon Biersch - A blast from my past. Used to be my favorite beer on the slopes with garlic fries; need I say more. Plenty of eating booths and German choices. WE got into every line that was excessively long, on purpose, just to see what the hype was about. FYI, not much. Plenty of restrooms and handwashing stations, but I do NOT recommend using them at the end of the day! Lastly, at most events, they NEED to learn to refill the water at those portable hand washing stations more frequently! Small kids area, very reasonably priced at $5-$10. A few giveaways. Atmosphere - Saturday 10am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm; see my pictures for restrictions. Free music and entertainment, approximately 3-4 stages. No wifi or cellular service; so sorry if I uploaded duplicate pictures... Too many people in my opinion, when you get bumped left and right, that classifies as too many people. Or was it because they drank too much? Safe and secure! Plenty of law enforcement with their Colt M4's. Police and ROTC at all entrances. The fire department was also represented, but more as a booth. CERT was there as well for advertising and first aid. All lines, including the long ones, moved at a very reasonable pace, thank you. Shaded eating areas, some by the stages. Everyone, including myself, seemed to have a good time. They also held contests, see my pictures. Dog friendly, although the website suggested against it. Plenty of easy free parking in the neighborhood, thank you. I'm told that there are free parking garages also...? Free bike valet. *If you want to eat at some of the nicer restaurants in this area, make sure you have reservations; sadly we did NOT. Service - Overall good. We got mini donuts, and the man and woman at the booth were exceptional. My daughter stood in front of the booth waiting for me to come and pay and they gave her a sample as she waited. Price - Festival prices, so above average. And it also depends on what you buy. Plenty of easy free parking in the neighborhood, thank you. I stumbled across this by chance, and decided to check it out. We walked by the vendor tents and really loved the variety of what we saw, not just repetitive clothes or jewelry (as some festivals and street fairs offer), we saw unique plants, comic book puzzles, insect displays, and a chinchilla rescue tent (with actual chinchillas sitting in cages). There's plenty of entertainment for both kids and adults... bubbles, a magic show tent, and live music on almost every block (and good music too... rock, modern, classic, and so on). And of course great bites to eat, like Holey Donuts, giant sausages, bbq skewers, and more, on top of the regular businesses which are already great in downtown Campbell. They had beer and wine tents too, but kind of confusing cuz they have a separate ticket tent before you can get the actual beverages... and the ticket tent closes early. Had a fun time at the event and enjoying the beautiful weather and good vibes. Only thing, parking was difficult.. The free garage was full, so we ended up parking in the nearby neighborhood, which added to our walk. Still, not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon in October. read more

I must declare I have been coming to this event every year since my 22nd birthday. This is a good way to enjoy the weekend with neighbors and friends. In terms of vendors and businesses, it's different every year. I like how I get an endless supply of free stuff every year. Drinks are at a stable price. It's a good way to enjoy what my hood has to offer every year. Usually one thing I do drink the beer on a Saturday and at times I would reach my alcohol intake. On Sundays when I go, I stay sober and just have an ice cream from the local store or a smoothie from Starbucks. There are lot's of interesting things to buy as well. Bring a camera and take some photos. If you are a diehard Yelp user and are located in Santa Clara County, I highly recommend. Note: Please take the bus or tram because parking is super hard to find. It can also help if you exceed your alcohol intake. read more

Unfortunately, I was "Waitlisted" for the YEE Milpitas event for Sunday the 20th. I would just like to say that there have been many people visiting from California graciously welcomed at our NJ YEE events. Instead, a friend and I came to Oktoberfest in the city of Campbell on Sunday October 20th. Parking was absolutely terrible. It was impossible to park in municipal parking garage and on the streets. We finally found a spot on the street. The festival was just a plain arts and crafts festival. I figured since it was Oktoberfest, there would be many unique german items to purchase like steins, great desserts etc.... Of course, at the fest there was lots of beer drinking. In addition, wine was available. The beer and wine was nothing to write home about. There were lines waiting for the Porta Johns. The fest could've used a lot more Porta Johns. The Sauerbraten was pretty good. Of course, we wanted to try the German pretzels. Several times, we waited in line for pretzels. When we we got to the truck window, the guy would say we would have to wait 10 minutes for the next batch of pretzels. Anyway, we decided to walk around and come back. When we finally did get our pretzels, they were not even good with mustard. I could've gotten much better pretzels on the streets of New York. The fest was extremely noisy, overcrowded and had long waiting lines. There were other issues too. It was really good that there was a lot of security around. I would not return to this festival next year. Thank heaven, there were two Oompah bands performing. They saved the day!!! read more

This felt more like an art & wine festival than an Oktoberfest, but maybe it's because the Mtn View one is super condensed into one good sized parking lot. I noticed as we were walking, somewhere near the middle, was a parking lot that had the feel of what Mtn View, was, but about half the size. The beer selection was also 'Meh' but then again, I am not a huge fan of Gordon Biersch. Not much else to say except that it was like a festival. Pretty sure I won't be returning here and keeping myself at the Mtn View Oktoberfest. read more

It was a nice excuse to stop by my Storage Spot and take the Down Low Whip for its last ride of the year . I rolled to Campbell and was able to Park at the Shopping center ,right down the street and street hiked to the Festival. I was impressed with the Turn Out . Tons of people ,Packs of Girls rolling around drinking Brew-skis. Quite a few women wearing Oktoberfest Beer Maiden outfits . They had a Traditional German Band Playing at one end of the Festival. The Festival had the usual type Vendors , Food , Art , Crafts and Drink. They need to add more Beer Pour stations ,lines were huge! They ran out of the Festival Glasses . There was a cool Top 40s Band playing Non Stop at the Other end of the Festival. Great place to get a Tan , Drink and People Watch. Campbell Pd had a strong Presense at the festival. read more

I agree that this is more of an arts and wine festival w/ groupings of German food vendors as well as other food vendors (I saw Luigi's) present. This was my 1st Oktoberfest event ever so I was excited to see what it's all about. I didn't notice much, failed to learn anything (although I'm perfectly aware this isn't a cultural learning class) but I kind of wish I did learn something. Yes, I'm a geek. I got there rather early.. like 10:30am and got sweet ass parking IN THE SHADE! I did not have my Mustard w/ me but I had Eggplant w/ me so I unloaded the stroller and went about my merry way... Streets were filled w/ policemen and the peace corps... making sure no abrasive drunks walk out and/or in. Despite the availability of alcohol, I felt very safe and the venue made it hassle-free for the drinkers.. I guess the complaint from previous years weren't great so you can purchase your drink ticket thingy via your iPhone (I know, I love my iPhone too) and they do check your ID and wrap a wristband around you after verifying your ID and after you've paid ($5 for a drink ticket and $10 for a drink ticket plus the glass). This will be my 2nd beer ever.. I tried Beck's.. I don't know what it was called but I did explain to the lady that I am not a drinker so I was looking for something light.. I don't know if the "light" has anything to do w/ the taste but, "OMGoodness it tasted horrible!" I sipped the damn thing 3 times and chucked it. What I did enjoy was the red Bratwurst w/ sauerkraut, mustard, and ketchup. For $6 it kind of, sort of filled me up. I didn't want to binge but I wish I tried the potato cakes among other fried goodies I saw. Overall experience? Not bad at all. Would I go again? Perhaps but I will take Light Rail and will not have a drink but instead fill me up w/ the fat, calories, and carbohydrates from the food! read more

Crowded, hectic, food, and drunkies! This year was my first year going to Oktoberfest. Started around 10am but decided to go later around 4pm to ditch craziness if I were to go at noon. It was still super crazy around, took 5-8 minutes to find parking. Had to circle around the parking garage for a while. It was dead in the middle of a bunch of restaurants and stores like aquis, opa, el guapos etc..... I have to admit though, it was pretty cool! Seeing everyone drunk off their butts having a good time. The beer line is really really really ridiculous!! One whole street long! That's like that for every single beer stand too! I feel like they didn't expect it to be that many people there because getting beer and food was shoulder to shoulder. $20 would get you a glass and two beers read more

Oktoberfest in Downtown Campbell is the entire downtown stretch, there are so many booths for art, goodies and food - the lines are never that long. Even there are lines, it goes by so fast. Bring cash! Some places do allow for card. Hopefully next year they improve on more places bringing card readers. My only complaint is that they have more prominent booths for information, first aid? I didn't even see first aid booth at all. Some old guy in a wheelchair ran into me and cut my leg - his wife and him acted as if it was my fault for standing in line... the fuck. A first aid booth would had been great. Overall, my experience here was wonderful. Super packed, lots of excitement and energy. Limited beer selection - but nice portions. Basically an arts and crap festival with beer, sausage, and the usual food vendors you see at every similar arts and craft fair. The plus is the shuttle service from the Pruneyard that comes and goes on the half hour. Other than that boring! Been there done that. Dunk a cop and blocks of junk that people call art. read more

Attended Octoberfest in downtown Campbell this weekend October 15-16, 2016), and had a good time. Octoberfest in Campbell is so much better than a more constricted event in Redwood City was (Peninsula Octoberfest at the Courthouse Square, back on September 10, 2016.) This event is more of a street festival type, versus ticketed entrance with timed seating (only twice daily if I recall correctly). There are food stands, some authentic German stands, and others of Mexican and oriental flavor (teriyaki and noodle bowls). I've enjoyed watching the grill set by Teske's Germania restaurant and beer garden. Perfectly grilled Bratwurst with Sauerkraut, excellent! A bit expensive, but of great quality. #1 Kassler Rippchen mit Kartoffelsalat und Sauerkraut, $15 (Smoked porkchop, potato salad, sauerkraut) #2 Paprikagulasch mit Spätzle, $10 (Cubed beef in spicy paprika sauce, homemade noodles) #3 Bayerische bratwurst und Polnische Wurst mit Kartoffelsalat und Sauerkraut, $12 #4 Bayerische bratwurst mit Brot, $7 #5 Polnische Wurst mit Brot, $7 There are your usual vendors one can normally see at any local Art & Wine festivals, selling arts and crafts, textiles, paintings, sculptures, jewelry, authentic food, local honey, garden furniture, decor, overall things unrelated to Octoberfest. There are crowds, loudly speaking folks, some boozed individuals as well - this can be hectic. There were police presence and hopefully they've dealt with that. I believe it was less crowded this year because of the showers, and overall better organized. We came in the afternoon and finding a parking spot was not a big deal. We didn't find any designated area with tables to sit at with food, not counting those belonging to permanent cafes and by Starbucks. Minus one star. read more

This Oktoberfest is one of the best oktoberfests in the Bay Area! I've been to a couple (Sonoma area, Fremont and this one) and this one is definitely my favorite. My friends and I go every year. There are several food and beer spots spread out all along the street. The whole street is blocked off for this event. There is entertainment, vendors and always a ton of people! Go early before the crowds get to intoxicated. This is a widely popular festival and I believe they expect over 40,000 people over the two day event. With than many people in such a small downtown, parking can be challenging by noon, all the structures were full and side street parking close by was non existent. No problem, we parked a few blocks away and walked in. The walk did us couch potatoes good. The event spans from Stacks all the up to the railroad tracks just after Blue Line Pizza. Several stages with music and an eclectic amount of vendors selling everything you'd see at your typical Art & Wine Festival. I miss the crazy over the top Witch Hat lady that would come years ago. Her hats where AMAZING! I bought one maybe 6 years ago that I love but would like to add to to the collection. Wish I knew where to find her. I suggest going early unless you enjoys long food lines, patrons who've been there to long and consumed too many beers long bathroom lines. This event gets crowded! We didn't buy anything but always enjoy the great weather, music and people watching! Oh! Our favorite booth this year was the "Free refills all day" lemonade/Ice-Tea stand. $7 for unlimited refills and the cups were huge! Best deal all day. read more

I went on Saturday and it was my first time at this event. Parking is nearly impossible. I had to drive to the Campbell Community Center across Winchester, park there, and hoof it over. I don't mind the exercise but be warned, don't even bother trying to get closer unless you go first thing. Especially in the garage behind Aqui... there were so many cars at the top trying to turn around that I had to back out quickly and get the hell out of there before someone came up behind me and blocked me in forever. You'll be lucky to find a spot at the community center. Once you are in, it's wall to wall people. Families and older folks should go early in the day... by mid-day it becomes heavily congested and ridiculous (as someone else said, a Jersey Shore meat market) with loud and sloppy drunks running into things, spilling beer and making slurry ham-fisted attempts to hit on you. I can't comment on the lines for beer or food, or the quality, because I basically came out to help a vendor take care of her booth and I didn't bother. I like beer and meat on a stick just fine but from what I saw, it looked like too much of a wait. A couple stars for the effort and the people-watching is great if you can stand it but it should probably be renamed "douchetoberfest"... if I didn't have a friend or two working the event I would be unlikely to go. read more

There were several bands playing a variety of different music. It was nice to get some food at then find a place to sit at our favorite band. When I think of Okbtoberfest, I think of beer. Lots and lots of it being guzzled out of boot shaped mugs. Not only did they not sell das boots, but they only offered 4 kinds of beer. And with only 2 tents serving beer, people were lined up for 30 min to be served Bud or Hef (or 2 types of "Oktoberfest" beer). The food was the only redeeming quality--hot links, bratwurst, turkey legs, corn, tri-tip sandwiches, etc. Too bad the lines for the ATMs and the food vendors were all so long. read more

Whew, crowded! But still had a good time! Was there Saturday, in the late afternoon and the middle was so packed with people it was like a clip from Soylent Green... many parents had to use their strollers as battering rams to get through the crowd. Went out to the periphery, where the beer line was half as long as the beer lines in the middle. The long beer line has to be part of a plan to keep people from overdoing it... plus the ever present Campbell PD. Still, a good time and I like cruising through and checking out the bands and booths. Seems to have increased in popularity every year. read more

The Big Ole Brat was awesome and the line for it was long but worth it! Had fun doing the Dunk a Cop event. The parking is very hard to find. read more

My favorite local festival! The highlight of Oktoberfest is,of course,the music and dancing.The USA Alpiners in German costume are very engaging and you have a great time dancing to the music,with a convenient dance floor.A special beer is introdcuced on tap and you can get in line and have a sample--great deal! There are a lot of quality craft booths,and a bonus is they're right next to the stores so you can go in there too.There is a variety of German dishes available,so there is bound to be at least one you like! I don't know what people are smoking that give this anything other than 1 star, but man I want some. Branded Oktoberfest celebration, but it is far from it. It is basically the same crappy craft vendors you see at every downtown wine festival. It is the same crappy food vendors that show up to all the other downtown events, yup the french fry man, a guy selling kettle corn, someone making chicken fingers, etc... To be 100% honost there were more sausage vendors than normal (only thing half relevant). This is what you are in store for: Narrow streets packed with people because Steph's Seashells is peddling artwork that looks like something a toddler would make with an diaper accident. The walkway that isn't taken up by old people sitting in chairs and the pointless craft vendors is occupied by families with strollers with no kids in them. Naaahh lets take a f'n stroller and just put our jackets in it, the kid can walk fine. OK I can't take it anymore give me a beer! Problem, you need to wait in a line to buy tickets for beers, then you need to wait in a beer line. So you wait 20 minutes so you can prepay for beer tickets and then wait in another line. Guess what, those tickets? Non-refundable, so you either buy more than you need so you don't have to get in the original line or you are forced to wait in two 15 minute lines for a single beer. What beer is being served? No Hofbrau, no Augustinerbrau, no Lowenbrau, no Spatten.... nope, Sam Adams... Yeah real Oktoberfesty... Seriously I have no idea why people would attend this cluster fawk of an event. Want to make it a good event? Many beer tents, get rid of the stupid craft vendors, we all know what Etsy is, you can go there to buy your stupid coasters; now fill the street with PEOPLE not macaroni artwork. Beer, Brauts, and People. Get some real music in the street, get rid of the bouncy castle, kids don't belong here, that solves the stroller problem too. read more

This was a frat party. A bad, nasty one. Other Oktoberfests that I have attended were more varied in attendance by all ages and less of a drunken debacle. This festival did not have Bavarian Oompah bands or anything of cultural significance. Yes, there were messy people in the beer halls in Germany, but I also met really awesome people from all over the world and had great conversations. Just saying- not my thing. I think I am too old for this. The beer lines were ridiculously long. So, girls in slutty outfits and leering boys, go have fun! Oh, there is a kid's area. But, unless you want to corrupt your five year old with people exhibiting bad behavior, I would not call this a family friendly event. I sound like an old fart. So, anyone else exhibiting old fart syndrome, stay away from this event. read more

Soooo crowded, everybody seemed really young & drunk & lots of douches trying to hit on my friend & I is what I experienced at Campbell's Oktoberfest. Maybe I'm getting old, but I think I'll stick to art & wine festivals instead LOL. This was my first year going to this particular Oktoberfest & since I was visiting my child hood best friend, we thought it be fun to go grab a couple beers & sausages. It was nice except for the fact that we were elbow to elbow with sloppy drunks. To escape we ate lunch at one of the restaurants downtown & were able to talk & drink w/ out people spilling their drinks on us! I understand that it was Oktoberfest (so of course people will be drinking), but the other Oktoberfests I've been to were larger & had a more German-like feel to them with maybe an older crowd. The little setup shops were nice & there were lots of food/ beer stalls set up (too many lines though, so we didn't get to try any of them). All in all it was fun to see everybody having a fun drunken time & of course to hang out with my bestie! Maybe next time I'll have to spend the night out there so I can drink more & get on everybody else's level! LOL read more

My husband and I went to the Oktoberfest for the first time today with my parents and it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. The food there is just OK at best. Most of what they have there is overpriced. It's free to attend, and parking is free too. The problem is finding a parking spot if you don't come there early. We had to park a block away from the library on the street. The first thing that I got when I was there was one of the soft pretzels. I got the "small" one which was still big. It costs $4.00 and it wasn't even served warm. I shared it with everyone. My mom made a pretzel bracelet out of hers since she didn't want to carry it around, lol! We then got tickets for the beer. You have to buy tickets for the beer and wine at the ticket booths. Beer and wine costs $7.00 each. I got the Stella Oktoberfest beer which was just OK. Water and soda is expensive to at $3.00 a bottle, so bring your own if you decide to go there sometime. After that we got a German sausage. Well, at least I did. It wasn't that great. It cost $7.00. My husband got a Philly cheese steak sandwich for the same price. He really liked that since it didn't have green bell peppers in it which he doesn't like. He also said that it was almost as good as the ones that he used to eat all the time in Philadelphia. They also have gyros, chicken teriyaki, pizza from Blue Line in Campbell (Blue Line's pizza are good btw), kettle corn, sweet potato pies, English toffee in different flavors, flavored almonds, tater tots, lemonade with free refills, fried zucchini and mushrooms, burgers, corn dogs,and more. It looked like there were more in the way of vendors than food stands. I don't think that we'll be going back there next year. It was way to hot and crowded. read more

Oktoberfest in Downtown Campbell is always a good time. Almost everyone you know, given you are within a certain age set, and that age set being the one who writes and read Yelp reviews, will be here. You will definitely run into people you normally try to avoid adding on FaceBook. If you despise them, if you hate them, if you look the other way and hide behind a clothes rack at the mall when you see them, they will definitely be here. the scene in 2009 was the same as 2008. Although, the mugs of 2008 that were sold for $5 were significantly larger than this years. The "stein" they sold for $5 this year was less than half that of the one for the same price last year. I would actually be embarrassed holding the 2009 mug anywhere in public, and even embarrassed actually owning one. So, this year, I passed on paying $5 for a mug and instead went with the comparable $5 tickets for beer to be poured in the disposable, yet similarly sized plastic cups. Seriously, I wouldn't even use the 2009 mug for mouthwash. The festival is comparable to an Arts & Wine festival in that there are numerous booths where no one buys anything. Wind chimes, bedazzled and knitted sweaters, and crap carved out of wood is sold, but everyone comes here for the over-priced beer and people watching. This year, the male presence was abundant, and thus, I re-name Oktoberfest in Campbell to "Cocktoberfest." read more

this is an annual 2-day festival held in downtown campbell. in general, i felt that there were too many drunk kids and not enough german inspired vendors. the plethora of beer stands seemed to draw mainly young adults who started the party early in the afternoon in broad daylight. there were also some sausage stands with wursts and weiners, but rest were typical run of the mill vendors you see at all of the art and wine festivals in the south bay and peninsula during the summer and fall festival season. it was ridiculously crowded, making it hard to navigate and walk around. i did enjoy seeing people dressed up in german clothing and listening to traditional music though. tip: for easy parking, try the pruneyard shopping center or side streets neighboring campbell park as the downtown streets fill up very quickly. read more

Beer lines far too long! Last year it took ~5-10 minutes to get served. This year, it took at LEAST 30 minutes! Even the beer choices sucked ass too. The only German beer they had was "Becks" WTF? Seriously? Very disappointed... On the positive side, the food was good and the people watching on the Saturday was up-to-par. Lol! read more

Had a good time... but since I heard SF's Oktoberfest allows all you can drink for a flat rate - I definitely rather do that instead next year. It wasn't very lady like of me but I had no choice but to double fist - the line was ridiculously long! So much time was wasted standing in line to buy tickets and then another LONGER line to get your beer. Tip: Offer a free beer ticket to someone in front of the line in exchange to get you your beer - works every time! Coz who can say no to free beer? read more

Just got back from here. Even though it was raining, we still had a great time walking the strip. Stopped at Lisa McCormick's booth as usual and got some stuff there. Her booth is my "go to place" every fest she is at. She has some really beautiful bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and anklets. She has a policy. If anything you buy from her breaks, she will replace it for free. You just need to pay postage. She also does house parties. Anyway, the only pain at the fest, is there is nowhere to sit and eat after you buy from one of the vendors. The food looked good, but we passed it because we didn't want to stand around and eat it in the rain. LOL read more
