They're featuring 39 vineyard/wineries, primarily from the Santa Cruz Mountains and the central coast region of California. Some of them did pretty generous pours, and a few of the wines were surprisingly good and smooth to drink. The folks from the wineries were all super nice and friendly. I noted down a few that we'd like to visit later. There're signs and maps everywhere, and participating shops and restaurants all have flags outside them. Some of them even offered snacks! The best one was the hummus/mini falafel w/ choice of wheat/regular pita and optional spicy sauce from Oren's Hummus. The iced coffee outside of Breaking Dawn/First Born was sweet and really delicious. Coup de Thai's mini dragon balls and golden tofu cubes were tasty. CineLux Theatre offered popcorns, and the Centerpiece Flowers had snacks on a beautiful table. Salt & Straw handed out some ice cream samples with interesting flavors. The weather was nice and cool. It was really enjoyable strolling through downtown, checking out the stores, and sipping so many different wines at each stop. Our daughter was our designated driver dropping us off and picking us up, so we didn't have to worry about drinking too much. But still, there's no way we could have tasted everything! There's live music at various locations. There's also an event photo booth next to Domus, and another photo booth inside Fiat Lux. The Good Sam booth next to US Bank had some cool giveaways. It was such a well organized event with so much fun. We would definitely consider coming here again next year.

Nicole and Heather did a great job with the organization and set up of the check-in areas where you buy tickets, get your wristbands, and wine glasses. Many businesses provided discounts/sales as well. We didn't think we'd spend 3hrs walking around, but we basically did. Weather was overcast and almost drizzling, but it didn't dampen the mood at all. Fun event!

I happened to be in Downtown Los Gatos today for a small local event on Main St. and heard there…read morewas "a thing" happening today at the park so I walked over and lo & behold the Los Gatos Art & Wine Festival was in progress! (I looked it up and it seems it's also known as the Fiesta de Artes.) Great live music on a stage, rows and rows of local vendors showcasing and selling their art, crafts, jewelry, specialty foods, home goods, and more! There were also food trucks, a wine garden, beer on tap, lots of tables and spots to sit or stand to enjoy the atmosphere. Such a great event to stumble upon! Apparently this event is a big annual fundraiser for the Silicon Valley Youth from the Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos. Everyone there was absolutely loving them. They played a variety of rock classics from the 70s/80s/90s like Green Day, The Knack, Modern English, and more! Attended the Día de los Muertos Festival in St James Park. This is the 7th year they've celebrated…read morethis festival here in Downtown and you can tell they have it down pat. The whole thing was very well organized from the tight security to tons of booths and stuff to keep everyone busy. Here's a quick recap: Admission Free! Nothing beats that. Parking There wasn't any street parking available around St James Park, but there are a few parking garages a few blocks away. There is a light rail stop right in front of St James, so I'd recommend doing that. Location Normally St James Park gets a one star review from yours truly but it's actually a great venue for a festival. All the "Local Outdoor Enthusiasts" are run off to the East Syde of the park and you see hide nor hair of them. Entertainment Lucha libre, Mariachi music, DJs and Aztec dancers. Yeah, they got a little bit of everything. Definitely the highlight of the event. Exhibits Lots of terrific original artwork, face painting booths, jewelry and other miscellaneous local booths (e.g., sports teams, charities, etc). Concessions: Lots of Latin inspired treats and good. From your ubiquitous tacos and burritos to mole and tamales. Security: Plenty of security and SJPD smattered throughout the event. There weren't a tremendous amount of vato locos around but the ones that were seemed well-behaved. However, I was only there until 2:30--so who knows if the cervezas kicked in later, or not? The entertainment and seeing all the cool Día costumes in the crowd was the definite highlight of the day. My only complaint is the event might have outgrown this venue as the walkways became really clogged up as the day wore on. Overall it was a really fun event and I'll definitely be back next year.

For $50, you get a special commemorative wine glass and a wristband that allows you four hours of unlimited access to food, drink and eye candy. While you are there, brush up on little bit of California history at Mission Santa Clara, next to Mission Garden. Tickets generally go on sale early August and the event is scheduled annually for early September. 2012 was Vintage's 29th year. Great job, SCU! It was pretty warm hanging out under the sun all afternoon. There were plenty of shade tents and stand alone water coolers plus a water bottle refill station near the live band, to provide relief from dehydration. Beer options were available for non-wine drinkers, such as Red Hook Pilsner, Red Hook seasonal summer beer Wit and a Shock Top beer. Last year, a guy arranged with the band to play his girlfriend's favorite song...and then he got down on one knee and proposed to her (with the microphone)! Very romantic! Red Hook Wit was delicious, but I'm all about the food. The Mmoon offered three kinds of empanadas - chicken, beef and mushroom, plus a zesty dipping sauce. They were full size empanadas, cut in half and we just helped ourselves. All very delicious. Took us to the Mmoon and back. ;) Kirk's Steakhouse was serving up plates of perfectly cooked filet mignon and fried calamari with cocktail sauce. Decadent! I got in this line only twice, due to the mega long line. Mio Vicino - plates stacked high with several kinds of pasta salads . Yum! Little Sky - Lavender chocolate brownies and sugar cookies. Actually very good! Kyoto Palace - California rolls. They had soy sauce but I didn't see any wasabi. Maybe they can premix some soy sauce with wasabi for those who like it hot. Forgot to check out Adobe Lodge. I think they were handing out lamb chops! I'm so sad I missed this one. :'( Rumba Desserts - delicious ice cream (Lucuma) and sorbet (Mango) all made without eggs or preservatives. I kept coming back for more, it was sooo yummy. Food selections are wide and it's great to see Asian communities and businesses coming together to provide annual mid-Autumn festival activities here. Sunnyvale weather is always warm/sunny/gorgeous outside. The Martin and other Cityline high rise buildings really add colors to life here. Best of all, Sunnyvale train is walkable distance. Plenty of free public parking garages to choose from. This year, Labubu dolls and doll clothes were everywhere. Food costs are still high and I still wish that more vendors would come out for a good spot each year. This year, there were delicious durian treats, roasted milk teas, candied fruits on a stick, grilled meats on sticks, roasted chestnuts, and coconut jello/sweet desserts. Handmade crochet bags are everywhere, but wow, they're not cheap for sure. Overall, this is worth visiting around the mid-Autumn moon festival days. I enjoyed watching the stage programs and children showing up in their best performance costumes.

Just got back from the 2nd Annual Summer Kraftbrew Beer Fest. Since there was such little…read moreinformation to go on before today's event, I had to learn on the fly when I got there. First, they do tickets here for beers, so cash required to exchange for tickets for beer pours. Second, the average cost of a beer pour is 3-4 tickets for a tasting portion and 5-6 tickets for a full glass. And when I say glass, I mean the 12 ounce tasting glass that they give you when you pay $5 for admission. In terms of beer, I tried two of them: the Ballast Point Sculpin IPA and the Dogfish ApriHop. This was part of the American Craft brewery selections which were the majority of the selections there today. They also had a Belgian and a German beer booth as well and the only beer that I wish I had room for, was a dark hefeweizen Dunkie Wiesse. Small bummer early on that they ran out of the Anderson Valley Summer Solstice...seriously, they ran out of it within the first hour of the event! Food wise, the Naglee Park Garage was selling corn on the cob, bratwurst, polish sausage, and pork kebabs. Harry's Hofbrau was also there selling turkey legs too. The Garage were taking tickets for food while the Hofbrau was not. Either way, this event is all about the CASH and tickets for beer. Lastly, they had an offer of $50 for a Zythophile Pass. It includes $25 in tickets, line skipping privileges, and a reusable bag. The lines weren't that bad when I was there at the beginning but who knows what it'll be like when it gets busier. Overall, a nice event with over 40 different beers from all over the world and even root beer from Devil's Canyon Brewing doing their own root beer floats. I'll definitely be back next year when this will be the hallmark event of Silicon Valley Beer Week next July.

The event had numerous beer vendors from within the area, which is a great way to get their name out. First stop, grab a bite and a taste of wine. Then get your card stamped. If there's no food, there's at least wine. That would pertain to participants like the spa and bookstore. Once you have the required 10 stamps, you can keep going or turn your card in for a drawing to win something like a gift certificate to a restaurant. It's a cute, fun activity to participate in during the week with your significant other, friends or family after work. There's a great turn out every year and jovial vibes. They served more food this year. So we didn't head to dinner afterwards. See you there next year!

(Shout out to our fantastic Peninsula CM Paolo for obliging when I asked if anyone dropped out of the event and to Marisol for getting us signed up without issue. This year, tons of great restaurants and businesses participated! As someone who visits Castro street a good 2-3x a week, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a whole bunch of new places I've never stopped in before! Our overlooked gem of this year was Mediterranean Grill House, which offered some great tea and Turkish delight, and I definitely want to stop by here again for some good coffee and treats! Who knew it was tucked away on the far end of Castro street?? Top food samples came from St Stephen's Green (I had no idea they had Irish stew here!) Eureka (cheese balls were delish) and generous slices of pizza from Blue Line, one of my favorite deep dish spots! All of the business owners and event staff working each booth / winery / restaurant were super friendly, and it was overall such a great vibe walking up and down the block, wine in hand, as the sun set over balmy 70 degree weather. A perfect night thanks to MTV and Yelp- thank you again so much and I'm definitely telling everyone I know to sign up for this event next year!
