For the restaurant to be as busy as it was the service was top tier. The ambiance of this space is a vibe and great for a date night or catching up with friends. Zocalo never disappoints with the food. A good enchilada combo never fails. My drink was Strong and tasty just like I like it. Can't wait to return

This wasn't our first visit to Zocalo, but we still had some of our favorites. Enchiladas Molé and Ceviche Verde. The flavor of both were great. No wonder it's their house favorite and Michelin recommended. The atmosphere is inviting per the usual. Presentation of the enchiladas could have been better being that there was a dirty rim. And of course it was topped with a margarita, which is always a good choice. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. And even other servers, Dillon, thanked us for visiting. We will be back again.

Well back again and usual I like trying something new so I had the Tampiquena which was very filling with lots of a for lunch tomorrow. My wife had the Tacos De Cazuela which we both loved our meals and had a picture of a Berry margarita. Michelle was our server again and she is efficient and personable. Always love the atmosphere weather busy of not.

I had high hopes for this place. I did think that the tacos were the highlight of my meal. Each taco I ordered was yummy and had all the right things going for it. The rice and the beans were also a smash, I could just eat that as my meal. I did love the chips and salsa & black beans for the table. The chips and the black beans were the ultimate combo. Where they started to fall off for me was the service. We actually asked 3 separate times for more chips and dip, and we never got it. One of those times, the server even offered it, and she still forgot. The desserts were also very mid. The tres leches tasted refrigerator-burned and dry. Although this restaurant has the fancy atmosphere, not all the food lives up to that expectation.

We came in on a Monday around 7:30pm. The restaurant was not crowded at all. The air conditioning seemed to be on full blast. The restaurant is very modern and has a really cool bar area when you enter. Our server was nice and friendly and checked on us often. We ordered a blackberry margarita and a smoky mezcalita. Both drinks were great. We ordered the carnita tostadas appetizer and the chicken mole enchiladas. The meat on the tostadas was overly salty when eaten by itself but perfectly cooked. When eaten with the whole tostada it was delicious. The mole sauce was a little sweeter than I was accustomed to, but it also was tasty when eaten with everything. The lime rice was good and the black beans were good too. Overall a nice dining experience.

Came for an early lunch and luckily it wasn't busy and I was able to sit at the bar. I was instantly greeted and served *free* chips and salsa. The chips are fresh and the salsa had a nice spice (which out being excessive). We only came for drinks so I won't speak on the food this time (but it all looked amazing as servers walked by). The Paloma was great and the bartender was great and attentive. It is a little more costly but the environment is cool and trendy.

Met friends for a holiday dinner here, their choice. Been craving a good fish taco but the server said the beer battered fish tacos weren't crispy? Odd, so opted for the cochinita pibil for $26. Nice sized portions of pork, rice and black beans. Everything was pretty good, the pork was tender, but noticed it was sweeter than other cochinita pibil I've had in the past. The taste of the achiote could have been stronger for my taste but I still enjoyed it. Service was friendly and efficient. Ambiance pleasant. We had a nice time and would go back.

I went to Zocalo with my wife, my daughter and her boyfriend last night and we really enjoyed it. I thought the service was excellent. My wife had a delicious Mojito drink that had a mango flavor. They served as chips and like a bean purée and salsa which was also good and then Our waiter John our hostess Shelly they were excellent. The food came out so quick. I couldn't believe it I had three enchiladas one with Molay one with red sauce and one with green sauce, two shrimp and one chicken. I couldn't eat it all, but it was delicious. I would highly recommend it. Not just the service but the ambience was great too. They have a full bar very spacious in area we have the option to sit inside or outside. The parking was great too. It was plenty of parking right off front. We could practically see our car from where we were sitting. In addition check out some of the meals. My wife had the tacos. My daughter had tacos. Her boyfriend had a super fat burrito.

The food was amazing, seated on the patio on a beautiful day. Our wait staff was friendly, engaging and efficient. My first Mole' and I am smitten, I split the fish with my daughter in law and got a salad we could share. My partner got the fish tacos that looked delicious, they must have been. My picky eater gobbled them up.

Seriously some of my favorite margaritas I've ever had. I love how they incorporate seasonal flavors in them as well. I've been to this Zocalo location many times over the years and have had mixed experiences with their service. Usually they're pretty attentive and on-top of things. Post-Covid in the QR menu only era we had some really bad service that left a bad taste in our mouth and kept us away for a while. We've since been back, and it's been much better. Glad that they're back to offering paper menus as well. My favorites here are the enchiladas and the fish tacos. They're always great! I love their chips, salsa, and bean dip as well. They are on the higher end of the price spectrum for Mexican food, partly why I describe them as "upscale." The food and drink quality seem to be pretty consistently good between locations as well. Overall, this a solid Sacramento go-to restaurant.

You can tell the kitchen really knows what they're doing. The only issue we experienced was with our server's understanding of the menu. When she explained the specials, the description wasn't even close to what was actually served. For example, she described one dish as a half chicken with tomatoes, cucumbers, and balsamic, but when it arrived it didn't include any of those things. We also asked several questions about the menu and ingredients, and she seemed pretty confused and wasn't able to give clear answers. I normally don't like leaving anything negative in a review because the food truly was fantastic. My only suggestion would be for the staff to become a little more familiar with the menu and the specials so they can confidently explain dishes to guests. Overall, incredible food, but a little more menu training for the staff would make the experience even better. I would definitely come back for the food.

While I'd be a liar if I said I'm still bummed that our favorite restaurant Bandera no longer has a Sacramento location and presence, Bennett's has done a terrific job with their beautiful and fantastic location. The staff is always engaging, friendly, hard working, kind, and knowledgeable. I ate solo during my last visit and opted for their USDA Prime New York steak, bacon mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. They brought out several gorgeous steaks for me to choose from. I was hungry so I opted for a big boy and it didn't disappoint. It had beautiful marbling, was tender for a New York (they're typically a bit firmer) and was cooked absolutely perfectly. I ordered medium rare and it was spot on. It was served sliced and was delightful. It's served on a wooden cutting board like plank that has grooves to catch the juices from the steak. That is ingenious and a lovely touch. The bacon mac and cheese was arguably the best I've ever had. A touch of panko breadcrumbs would've made it absolutely perfect. The mashed potatoes were buttery and creamy like I like, and had a touch of scallions which I love. This was the most enjoyable dining experience and meal. Not only does Bennett's serve fabulous meals in a lovely setting, their desserts never disappoint. I skipped one this evening but my favorite is their carrot cake. Another wonderful reason to dine here is they're wonderful stewards of the community and regularly make generous donations to local non profit organizations. I love doing business with folks that are generous and kind enough to give back when they can. Obviously it's impossible to give back to any and everyone, but a little generosity and human kindness goes a long ways in my book.
