I'll start with the bottom line - Zena and her studio are the real deal.
More context - I've been practicing Yoga for over 10 years, and have seen a number of instructors, studios (from personalized studios to LA Fitness, 24 hour fitness, Equinox, Gold's Gym, etc.) across multiple states (California, North Carolina, Michigan). So I would like to say I've seen a number of different yoga and meditation styles, techniques, approaches, & so forth in teaching styles.
And let me tell you...Zena knows her stuff!! She is very experienced, yet simultaneously beginner friendly in her approach in building the client relationship. She blends thoughtfulness, compassion and openness in her pedagogy, which is extremely important when feeling welcomed into a new environment for the services she offers.
Zena's studio is BEAUTIFUL (don't forget to check out some of the painted poses & artwork by the entrance!!), calming and inviting, and her equipment is also helpful in modifying the different poses we went through for my Yin restorative class. She has a strong background in mindfulness and wellness, which is reflected in her teaching style. She also provides a hot tea at the end of our session, which I found soothing and thoughtful. Oh - and parking is free with many available spots in her studio's plaza.
In conclusion - I will undoubtedly be back for more sessions, and would encourage any newcomer, experienced Yogi, or anyone interested in increasing their general well-being through diet, nutrition, and/or mindfulness to develop a relationship with Zena and her business. You will not regret it :) read more
