Overall: Constantly good pizza
Ok, Zizzi's is a chain restaurant - but I prefer this Zizzi's over the others I've been to. It's in a quieter part of town and far less rowdy than the one in Derby.
Iced tap water used to come in large jugs, but now you are given a small glass as you are sat down. Service is mediocre but fast, the clientele move in and out of the restaurant quickly.
They serve a decent range of aperitifs, nibbles, starters, pizza (includes calzone), risotto, desserts, wines, coffee and spirits. I've tried many dishes here and most are not that special except for their pizzas (pizzas range from 6.50-9.50 GBP), they are thin, crisp and light with the main feature being the topping (as it should be). Here are my favourites are:
Pollo al Rosmarino - Marinated chicken, mixed roasted peppers, goat's cheese, mozzarella, tomato and rosemary.
Trentino - Smoked mountain ham, buffalo milk mozzarella, fresh oregano, oven roasted cherry tomatoes, rocket and grana padano cheese.
Calzone carne piccante - marinated chicken, meatballs, Bolognese sauce, mushrooms, chili, mozzarella and tomatoes
The best dessert on the menu here has to be the "banana con cioccolata" - caramelized banana with toffee and chocolate sauce on a Belgian waffle, served with vanilla ice cream (4.75 GBP). read more
