Horrible customer service.. first time customer and dropped off a couple comforters not realizing there was some additional pieces. No problem.. then he rambles on that he's going to charge for other things.. after reading other reviews, I should have known better than coming here.. trying to nickel and dime for every thing. So I came on to get a refund and take my items back. Wasn't going to deal with the issues. The little Indian guy who took my order had a massive attitude problem and had to grab someone else. I asked again for a refund and the guy gave it to me. Told the first guy to grab my stuff and he just threw it all on the counter with no bags that I brought them. I asked for bags and he continued with attitude and just tossed a couple bags on top of my items.. horrible customer service and will never come back to this location again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! If I could give negative stars I would. I dropped off a bridesmaid dress that I sold to be cleaned before shipping it out. I've never been to this establishment and was near the area so I decided to walk in and ask if they cleaned dresses which the attendant said yes. ( I was surprised at the low price and was hesitant but was told they clean dresses all the time). It should have been a simple cleaning but when I went to pick up the dress and arrived home, I noticed chemical stains all over the back of the entire dress and I immediately took it back to the cleaner and they could not give me an answer of how this happened. They said they would redo the cleaning and to come back to pick up. I've gone back 5 times and NOTHING was done to the dress!! Didn't even look like they tried to send it out for repair. It just sat in their office and the attendant got it only when I arrived for pick up and proceeded to tell me that the owner thought that I came to the cleaners with the stain's there! First off, the owner was never even in the facility when I brought in the dress and if he has video proof like he said, then I asked him to show it to me cause luckily I had photos of the dress prior to taking it to them that showed NO prior stains on the dress. I had the manger call me and I gave him every opportunity to resolve the situation and to do the right thing. I trusted him when he said he would try and fix the dress and keep me posted on the situation or refund me for the money I lost on the dress. I waited for him to call back and once again I got no follow up. Once he did return my call after I emailed him a warning, he basically acted very nonchalant and had the nerve to say that it was JUST A DRESS and that it was no big deal. Is that how an owner replies to a disgruntled customer that's already upset? This issue has been ongoing for a month and that's his response?..he has once again set a different date for me to wait for the dress to get cleaned so this review will still be ongoing at the current moment. I'm extremely disappointed with the service at Zip Cleaner in Buffalo Grove. I dropped off an evening gown weeks in advance for an important event happening this week. The business admitted they gave my gown to the wrong customer--yet when that customer failed to return it on time, Zip Cleaner refused to take responsibility or offer any compensation. Despite their acknowledgment of the mistake, they expect me to wait indefinitely for their customer to return the gown, which is unacceptable. Because of their negligence, I had to scramble to purchase a new gown at the last minute, incurring unnecessary expense and stress. A professional business should own their mistakes and take care of their customers--not push the blame onto others. I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting this business with valuable or time-sensitive items. read more

I loved the zips cleaners in Austin, but these are Terrible scammers. Please avoid the Indian lady that works there at all cost if you value your money. They tried to charge me $40 for each pair of pants for alteration then after 10 minutes of haggling I don't know why I'm haggling. It's not a street vendor in a foreign country we got down to $18 pair of pants after a week of waiting, they still screwed it up they made the waste of larger instead of making it smaller like I asked. Another week of waiting they finally fixed it and then they tried to charge me twice for doing two different reasons of work when they screwed up the first time on their own mistake. She is an absolute scammer and very unpleasant person. I'll never be back. I can take my pants to be tailored somewhere else for a lot cheaper and Ashley have it done correctly the first time terrible with the money even for dry cleaning. I don't know how much money dry cleaners make, but it must be a lot and for that much money I was kind of hoping that they would fix my pants correctly, the first time and not try and charge me twice. Stay away from this place . This place is run by idiots. I went to pick up my husband's work pants which was supposed to be ready on June 11th. They tell me, no we don't have it, we can't find it, please come back later etc etc. I told them that I won't leave until til I get the items. Told them to call the person who knows about the transaction and that guy was able to locate the items. I am not going back to Zips anymore. We have used ZIPS for so many different things at this point. Pricing is always very fair and their turnaround time is excellent. We have even used them to do giant loads of laundry and everything was returned to us promptly and perfectly folded. I highly recommend them to anyone that needs to get things cleaned! I LOVED Zips in Philadelphia I even directed my team to use them at our hospital system so when we moved here I was willing to make the drive. They ruined two pieces in nov/dec. it is now March and despite CONSTANTLY telling me the owner will contact me-no response. The team is not well trained and they are clueless. Terrible customer service. This is a very different experience than the Philadelphia site. No resolution and they STILL have my pieces and NO CALL ever. I was encouraged not to use this cleaners because there is an understanding amongst my friends that this cleaners ruins your clothes. Well... I found out for myself that this statement is quite true! I took a brand new dress there, when I got it back the hem was literally gone from the dress. it took weeks for the owner to finally take care of the issue and return the dress. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because at a later date.. I took a new blouse there and it came back with snags all the way down one sleeves and snags on the cuff and at the bottom of the garment... how does this even happen? I will be reaching out to them first thing tomorrow! they're gonna need to pay me for my brand new shirt! and I'll just be done with them!!! the owner is not friendly by any means either, I dealt with him with the first scenario... very unconcerned, very nonchalant and slow moving when problems arise. read more

This place seemed awesome when it first opened but went downhill fast. Bring a Canada Goose coat to get a button sewed on and they had it for over a month. Once while checking on it didn't know where it is. They have not cleaned clothes for me to only find out once I got home. Then give me my pickup without my suit that they refused to clean. I brought my pants for alteration service a month ago. 3 weeks later they admitted that they lost the pants and after visiting the store several times, the manager promised to purchase a replacement. Two weeks later, the replacement is not yet available. The manger promised to send the order and tracking information for the replacement, however he never keeps his promises. I dropped off my comforter to be cleaned on December 22 and paid the full price of $24.99. When I returned home approximately 10 minutes later I got an email announcing a sale price of $19.99. Each day I received a text or an email reminding me of the sale price. The receipt said it would be ready on December 27th. I didn't get the email stating it was ready so just went to pick it up. They told me they were running behind and to come back in an hour. I returned an hour later and they handed me someone else's comforter. Apparently I waited an extra hour for them to finish someone else's comforter. They were clueless which one was mine. After playing the guessing game of what color and what brand it is we found it. I asked for the courtesy of refunding me the $5.00 staff said they didn't have the authority to give me the sale price. I politely left my name and phone number for the owner to call me in the morning when opening the next day. The employee took my name and phone number and said he put it on the owners desk. I'm still waiting for my call. I won't be returning to this business due to poor service and inability to meet the sale price!! read more

I usually don't have the time to write reviews, but in this case, I just couldn't leave prospective customers of Zips Cleaners in the dark about my terrible experience with Zips. I decided to give Zips a try in December 2022 because my former dry cleaner was getting more expensive by the week and taking longer and longer to get my clothes back after service. I've now used Zips 4 times, 3 of which resulted in completely unacceptable service. The second time I was in there, I picked up a brand new suit (never worn) that I wanted to get cleaned and pressed before I needed it for an event. Result: huge white streak of something (?) on the pant leg. When I brought it back, they made a big theatrical deal about checking security cameras to see which employee made the mistake or determine if the white stuff was on the clothes before I brought it even though I said I didn't care who did it, just please make it right, which they did but it took them two days. Third visit: I picked up 12 or 13 dress shirts. Result: two shirts were pressed as if my 4 year old had done it, pressed-in wrinkles and creases (where they don't belong), and French cuffs were so wrinkled I couldn't close them if I tried. And there are still shirts from that visit which I have not worn so there may be other problems. I took the two shirts back, showed the owner, told him that this is unacceptable, he agreed and took them back for a redo. 4th and final visit: I picked up the two shirts along with other shirts I had brought in. I checked the two shirts before I left the store, and sure enough. Same problems. I can tell that they tried to re press because it looked different than how it was when I brought them but still unacceptable, just different wrinkles and creases. Bottom line: this place seems to know how to say all the right things to look like they care about their customers (they are perfectly nice) but they sure as hell don't know a thing about cleaning clothes. Update: Thanks for the response. I have provided lots of details in my review so there is no need for me to spend more time on Zips given that your business has already soaked up enough of my time with shoddy dry cleaning/laundry service. The fact that you even asked for more details after seeing my review is probably a good indication that you are probably not a real person but a bot with auto-responses, which is pretty consistent with Zips overall unacceptable customer service. And, by the way, it isn't my or any other customer's job to help you improve with my review. The review is for other potential customers so that they might avoid the problems I encountered. This was the first time I tried this dry cleaners. I usually don't write reviews, but I found them to be so unfriendly and unprofessional, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. The customer service person who handles your clothes was not very friendly or helpful in explaining their process. I had to ask her how they would notify me when my clothes were ready and then she asked me for my email address. When I picked up my clothes, all the shirts were smashed into one bag and had wrinkles in them. She did offer to re-do them for me, but I would have had to come back again. Overall, I will be returning to our previous cleaner even though this would be more convenient. read more

I have never felt the need to leave a negative review for a business, anyone can have a bad day, but the service I received from this cleaners has been beyond awful. On Monday 6/8 I dropped off and prepaid for three items - two fairly expensive sweaters and a pair of shorts. As promised, everything was ready the next day, but both sweaters were ruined, one stretched and ripped, the other was a soft material that now feels as if it was starched, as well as stretched out, and the shorts were pressed with a cuff on one leg and none on the other. On Wednesday 6/9 I called and asked to speak to manager, was told he was out until later that day, and left a message. Thursday I called and the manager Neal answered. After explaining what had occurred with my clothes, he said he would need to "look at the tapes" and get back to me on Friday. Neal never called. On Monday 6/15 I called Neal to voice my displeasure on how this was being handled, and all he could say was "I will refund your $7.47", and try to redo the ruined sweaters. When I asked about some sort of restitution for the sweaters that were purchased at over $200 new, Neal hung up on me. That night I sent an email to ZIPS corporate office, but have heard nothing. I did not expect, nor did I ask for the full purchase price of the sweaters paid, but I did expect some sort of offer for the loss of my property. Don't be fooled by the low cost offerings at this location, and DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!!!! Awful work, worse customer service, and an unresponsive corporate headquarters. There are plenty of other dry cleaners in this area, and I'm looking for a new one. I recommend you do the same. read more
