Loves Malaysian/Singaporean food? You have got to try Zee's kitchen. I got to know about her farmer's market stall through some South Florida Malaysians and Singaporeans. She is very highly spoken off among this group. I only wish I got to know about her and her food much earlier!! What is so good about Zee's kitchen? Food and service. Let's start with the food. She makes authentic Malaysian food with flavors as close to the kitchen of a Malaysian home as one could possibly get here in foreign Florida. I have tried her beef ball soup, which reminds me of the Singaporean lontong. In fact, it is better than a lot of the lontongs in Singapore. It has a lot of herbs both in the soup and the beef ball without overpowering the beef flavor. Definitely a good choice if you are feeling under the weather or you need a pick-me-up. She also made a unique twist to the Malaysian roti canai by making it into a roll with beef rendang. This dish is more of an appetizer suitable and is suitable for children! My hubby and daughter finished it before I was done talking to her! When you can't find her in the farmer's market at Margate, or other markets that she frequent, she also does small scale catering. PM her on Facebook and ask if she has any special on the menu. I recently ordered nasi lemak, which is coconut rice that comes with chicken curry. It was mouth-watering delicious even my daughter was snacking on the rice before I could spread out all our food. It comes with crunchy peanuts, anchovies and fragrant sambal. I am looking forward to trying more of her food. Service wise, she is a very friendly lady. She noticed that I have a 3 yr old as soon as we met and made sure to explain all the ingredients and flavors of her food. How many cooks that you meet are mindful of kids and their diet? She even remembered my daughter when I ordered from her the next time and added a little dish that was kid-friendly into my order! How sweet of her! If you are visiting with a toddler, definitely don't feel shy to ask about her food. I can seriously go on and on about all the good things but I think you get the picture. To balance out my post, I am not a big fan of her curry puff - it was not crispy like it should but that was more of the consequences of not having a warmer at the farmer's market. I brought it home and warmed it in my oven and it was delicious! The verdict: Delicious! If I live near Margate, I would be at her stall every market day!

Being a Malaysian living overseas, I have always been looking for authentic Singaporean/Malaysian food to ease my craving. Thankfully I found Zippy Zee Kitchen at Hollywood Yellow & Green farmers market, and met Zee, the lady owner who is so passionate about her food. I have visited the stall a number of times. Zee does catering too. She has many signature dishes. My top favourites are Laksa (Spicy coconut noodle soup), Beef rendang (rich flavor beef stew made with spice paste and coconut milk), soto ayam (deliciously flavoured yellow chicken soup served with vermicelli) , Nasi lemak (coconut rice served with flavourful rendang chicken, sambal chili, anchovy & peanut), karipap (Asian style empanadas but made with potato filling), lontong (rice cake served with vegetables in creamy coconut gravy) etc. During the summer, Zee runs her stall at various locations. So follow Zippy Zee in Facebook or call for more details before visiting.

We found Zee on a very last minute for our wedding on Valentine's Day. She did such a fantastic job and great to work with! I was still in Singapore 2 weeks prior to the wedding day and fiance -now husband-, helped me out to contact her, but Zee is always available to be contacted through e-mail & WhatsApp. So the 13-hour time difference does not feel like much of a distant. Thank you Zee for making a very scrumptious food. I strongly recommend her for wedding catering and specialised Indo-Malay cuisine.

I was so full when I spotted zippyzee kitchen at the farmers market but the display caught my eye. A big "bun" which i thought was a dumpling that she showed me turned out to be vegan. I haaad to take some home, then i noticed she also had some sticky rice wrapped in some sort of leaf. I must day i will be back for more Buns and ill have try those dumplings next time!

The focus is really on the food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food is consistently great, with authentic flavors and dishes that always feel homemade and comforting. On top of that, the staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome every time you visit. Places like this are rare to find, and it's the kind of spot you end up recommending to friends once you discover it. If you're looking for great food and a relaxed, friendly environment, Bali Cafe is definitely worth checking out.

Flavor in every bite…read more While walking around downtown Miami, I stumbled upon Bali Cafe and decided to give it a try. When you first walk in, you encounter a decent indoor area, not really a place you want to spend countless hours, but perfectly good for a quick meal. The one thing to note is that strong smells linger in the air. During my visit, service was perfectly fine, quick, helpful, and made sure I always had my glass of water full. But the true star at Bali Cafe is definitely the food. The menu has a wide array of options to choose from, Indonesian staples to sushi (although some options are just different combinations of themselves). You can expect to spend around $20-25 for a decently sized entree. I ordered the Lontong Cap Gomeh, one of their signature dishes. It was definitely tasty; in each bite, I could taste a delicious combination of spices; but it was not the best I have ever had. All in all, if you are craving flavors from Southeast Asia, Bali Cafe is a great alternative in downtown Miami. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.

We walked in to the place and grabbed a couple spots at their bar. Its a nice unassuming place. There people hustling about including the bartender. But she had 2 drinks over to us pretty quick. I wanted to try something new so I got the Nam Gek Huay. It was a tasty beverage with tea as the mixer. There were cloves of something on the top that were a nice touch. We found ourselves to the back where the small stage was. It was a nice turn out of people. We all got to hear about a dozen songs. Meanwhile we tried the pad Thai. I would say it was above average. It was a good time, and we will be back to try more of the menu.

Any decent restaurant would have replaced it. Instead, the owner/manager became hostile, insisted I pay, and threatened me during the dispute. I was shocked when he said, "I'm going to hurt you," and then later tried to rephrase it as, "If you act like this, you're going to get hurt." After that, I did not feel safe touching anything they brought to the table. I called the police and made a report, and he denied making the threat when they arrived. Even after I complained about the condition of the dish, they still charged me. I paid, but I will be disputing the charge. I have never had a restaurant owner threaten me before. Completely unacceptable service. I did pay that horrible watery meal no flavor . Rude arrogant owner terrible customer service. There are so any better Thai places Avoid if possible I can see why it's dead in there!! Owner taking it out on the few that show up. He will keep losing customers with his horrible attitude Of course he's having a hard time, his service and food is terrible, uggh yes the owner said he would hurt me yes he did threaten when I said the food was swimming in water for some reason and no flavor, I did not eat half and even if I did that was the WORST customer service I will never step foot in there or send my friends and family there! Save your money, so many other better Thai places to be disrespectful and treated awful

We waited for menu which seemed ridiculous as we were literally the only people there. The server did not seem knowledgeable about the menu. I asked about the size of the TomKha soup and if they made their own tonkotsu broth. (He said no so ramen was off the table). They didn't have a big pot of TomKha which seems odd for a Thai restaurant. So then I asked about the curries. Which was his favorite. He really didn't have an answer. I asked about massaman curry and asked if it was yellow curry (traditional red, green and yellow curry can be found at most that restaurants). He said it was a little orange, yellow. But it had potato, which is generally a yellow curry, so I just ordered it. When the food came it was beautiful! Colors were vibrant and ingredients were fresh. I'm really picky when it comes to pad Thai, and this was excellent! The yellow curry was really good but would have liked to have been able to add a little spice to it when being prepared. Broccoli was a bit al dente but overall it was very good. We had to get up and request the bill and to go boxes. The server just disappeared. Again... There was one other couple that came in while we were there. Why are we waiting? Clearly we were done and ready for the next step. The service was just really bad! Anyway.. overall, the food is definitely good. We will be back to try the other curries and menu items. I just hope the service is better, because this time around it was really lacking!
