After removal of old cement and cast iron pipe leading to septic tank.

I called Zippity Split Plumbing to get a second opinion on a main sewer line issue I was experiencing after seeing positive comments about them on social media and online reviews. There was a clog in the main sewer line causing a backup. The first company I called (Precision) came out and ran a snake down the line, but they were unable to clear the line even though the snake made it all the way to the septic tank. They then ran a camera down the line from inside the house, but nothing could really be seen as the line was full of water. They ran the line from the outside clean out toward the inside of the house and got to a point where the line appeared blocked. The plumber said that it looked like there may be a partial collapse. He then suggested that the line needed to be repaired with a liner (CIPP) at an estimated cost of $11,000! to include cutting a hole in my painted cement flooring in the bathroom and digging a hole outside. I called Zippity for a second opinion and scheduled an appointment for an estimate for several days later between 8AM-10AM. At 9AM on the day of the appointment Zippity called me and told me that the person scheduled to come out could not make it as they were tied up on an emergency call. They offered to reschedule the appointment for the next day (2PM-4PM). Jeremy arrived at about 4:30PM. He was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I explained the problem I was having, and he ran a camera down the sewer line from the outside clean out and cleared the blockage with the camera by itself (hooray)! Upon viewing the sewer line with the camera, he recommended a descaling to remove rust, sludge and hard water scaling inside the cast iron pipe. He showed me photos and video of the sewer line and later sent them to me via email. Jeremy created a repair estimate with three different options. Descaling, hydrojet and installation of a double two-way clean out (outside) for the sewer line to replace the single 1960's era cast iron clean out for a cost of $3,480 (I chose this option). It was recommended that the kitchen drain/vent line be replaced and rerouted to alleviate kitchen grease going down the drain where it was thought it currently does for $3,245 (I chose not to do this). The third option was to add two shut off valves and hose bibs where I needed them for $475 (I had them do this option too). Jeremy was able to quickly get me scheduled for this service the next day (Wednesday) between 8AM-10AM, as I was going out of town for a while at the end of the week. The next day Mikey Wood and Zach arrived at 9:45AM. They completed the service and installation of the above options I chose by 4:30PM, after running into a couple issues with removal of the outside cast iron clean out in 103° temps. They ran a camera down the line before and after the descaling, and I was able to watch the viewing screen as they did it. Mikey and Zach did a great job. After they were done, you wouldn't know that they even dug a large hole outside. They did a great job. I highly recommend Zippity Split Plumbing. I will call them again for any future plumbing issues.

What sets them apart is their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to customer education. Rather than simply fixing the issue and moving on, they always take the time to explain what they're doing, answer our questions, and provide helpful recommendations for extending the life of our plumbing systems and fixtures. Most recently, Lou and Anthony spent an entire day at our home tackling a long list of plumbing projects. Their work was thorough, efficient, and completed to a very high standard. Despite the large scope of the job, everything was finished in a timely manner, looked great, and functioned perfectly. Just as importantly, they treated our home with respect. Before leaving, they made sure everything was clean and tidy, leaving no trace of the extensive work they had completed throughout the day. It's rare to find a company that consistently delivers this level of service year after year. We highly recommend them and are grateful to have a plumbing team we can trust whenever the need arises.

Unfortunately, my entire unit needed to be replaced, but Stuart was able to schedule the installation for the very next day. On Monday, Nate was at my house first thing in the morning. He was also very professional and took the time to explain what to expect throughout the process. He kept me informed and communicated with me the entire time. I was back in my house with working AC by early afternoon. What was a pretty costly and unfortunate experience was made much better by having the privilege of working with guys like Stuart and Nate. Their professionalism, kindness, and communication made a stressful situation much easier. I've already shared my experience with a few friends, and I will definitely be back to ACE for any future service needs. I highly recommend them!

Recently, one of the pipes connected to our water softener in the garage suddenly burst late at night, around 11:00 PM. A large amount of water sprayed everywhere and flooded the garage floor. We contacted two other plumbing companies we found online, but unfortunately, neither of them responded. Thankfully, we found American Plumbing & Rooter. When we called, Rich answered the phone right away and was incredibly helpful. He quickly scheduled an appointment for us, and a plumber arrived at 8:30 the next morning to replace the damaged water softener. We were very impressed with how efficient, friendly, and professional they were. The plumber was patient and took the time to explain why the pipe had burst and gave us very helpful recommendations to prevent similar problems in the future. Their follow-up service was also outstanding. A few days later, Sunday night, we were surprised to discover that we had no hot water. We texted Rich to ask what might have happened, and he responded very quickly. He explained that when the water softener pipe burst, the large amount of water spraying out may have extinguished the pilot light on the nearby water heater. He then patiently walked us through the steps to check it. Sure enough, the pilot light was out, exactly as he had explained. He also guided us step by step on how to relight it, and we were able to get our hot water back. We are extremely happy with the service we received from American Plumbing & Rooter. Their prompt response, professionalism, knowledge, and excellent follow-up service gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend American Plumbing & Rooter. I don't know what chemicals etc. are in the water that was dumped but the fluid was dumped right next to fairly new plants and left an unsightly hole in the gravel. Further, I don't know what if any harm may be done to the new plants. I have ZERO tolerance for contractors who act disrespectfully towards the property where they're working. The place where the water was dumped was just a couple of feet from the driveway. If the water was dumped in the driveway, it would run down to the curb and follow the slope of the street as drainage and NOT risk any harm being done to our new plants. If we notice any adverse changes to our plants, there will be some follow-on activity with P&L. Just careless. I have to admit that I am skeptical of any company that provides "virtual quotes" without seeing the work site for themselves. But they requested a couple of pictures of old water heater installation to assess the job, provided a quote "sight unseen", and did the work with no extra cost added (always a concern with virtual quotes). They were the cheapest of the 3 bids that I got. No long-winded sales pitch that I should install a $5K tankless unit. The tech provided instructions on the annual flushing process. I'm satisfied. I'm hoping that at last I have a go-to plumber.

Unfortunately, once work began, they discovered the sewer line was in much worse condition than originally anticipated. The project ended up taking several days longer than expected, and they even had to remove a tile in our living room to access and clear one of the lines. Many companies would have responded by issuing a change order and increasing the cost due to the additional labor and complexity. Peerless did the exact opposite. Not only did they honor their original commitment, but they actually reduced our invoice by $2,000 because they had to remove a tile during the repair process. As if that wasn't enough, they also sent us DoorDash credits since we were unable to use our kitchen for a couple of nights. I was genuinely blown away by their integrity, generosity, and customer service. The entire team was professional, kind, and a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The AC unit was at least 15 years old and struggling. We approached different companies about service and repair; one tech, Sebastian of Reiss Air Conditioning, shined in explaining the challenges of our old system and nursing it through three summers. This summer it would give out, so we asked Reiss for some solutions. They came up with a plan to replace the AC unit and update the old duct distribution system. Such a project would also require installing a new electrical panel, to replace the original. We can report that the project is completed and we couldn't be more satisfied in the work. What made a challenging project attainable? The expertise and customer focus of the Reiss crew. First, every Reiss tech -- Antonio, Phoenix, Marcus, Pablo and Marco -- was professional, on time, conscientious and patient. We set appointments and were reminded the day before and day of. Each respected our home and our time. Second, Jedi and Zane completed the switch to the new electrical box without a problem. They identified unlabeled connections and finished the project with clean tags for each appliance and location. Third, Brian and Stephen at the Reiss main office worked with us on the specs of the project, available discounts, comparable substitutions and problem-solving. They were responsive and straightforward. This was a month-long initiative due to permits, etc. but Reiss led every step of the way. And we were without AC for only half of one day. Finding a trusted partner for crucial home projects can be daunting; we recommend Reiss and the team that served us wholeheartedly.
