Over the last 25 years, it has been improved upon immensely, becoming the focal point of Cedarhurst. Lots of things for kids of all ages to participate in. 1. The bathrooms are new, handicapped accessible and clean (see comments below*) 2. Handicapped accessible things for young children to participate in. 3. Nice amount of seating for all. 4. Parking is metered, but generally available. 5. Open spaces HOWEVER, I HAVE SOME GRIPES: 1. DOGS. NO dogs in the park! Why do locals have to walk their dogs in the park, even if they are leashed? It's disgusting! 2. PIGS. Parents and housekeepers are pigs. They drop stuff all over the floor or the kids do - and the responsible parties do not clean up after themselves or their charges. Lots of refuse cans available - USE THEM! Don't teach these little ones such bad manners! 3. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - from a local school, use the field for their gym class during the day. They play soccer or tag football. Nice to see them enjoying themselves, but it is a public park and their school property isn't. That's my short list. If the gripes were taken care of, this review would be 5 STARS.

I came here once with a person I thought was going to turn into a friend, and then I took my husband here when we first started seeing each other. After we hung out here a few times gazebos became a romantic and fond memory for us. Sometimes they perform concerts in the gazebo as well. This park is a lovely and large chunk of land, it provides a nice mini escape from the ordinary and mundane. Worth the visit if you are in this area.

As we sat in the midst of this park digging into our pizza, smashburgers, and chicken, there was a group of 11 65+ year old ladies sitting in their sun blocking chairs just living life enjoying each others company. I've lived enough life to know that no amount of money or individual success could replace a strong, core group of friends like that. I was gonna take a picture from a distance but thought that would be a selfish endeavor, so I'm writing this review instead. Also, I must shout out Dwight D. Eisenhower. I'm balls deep in a WWII obsession right now, and he went from a 5-star general leading the Allied victory over the Germans to being the leader of the free world 7 years later. Iconic career path. This park was nice though. A lot of seating, open space, and great people watching while surrounded by nature that allows you to breathe and connect with the universe. We played doubles, and my partner and I won the game against the other two players. Points are scored only when the serving team wins a rally, and I am a good server. I learned fast how to make the ball hit the court in front the blue line, which is known as the kitchen. Elvis, the head coach, was thorough in his explanation of the fundamentals of the game. We practiced our skills with our peers, getting feedback from the coach that was assigned to our court. There was a coach for each of the eight courts, and each court had four players. I learned the rules of the game and how to score. The goal is to keep the ball out of the kitchen. You can only volley outside the kitchen. The class lasted approximately two hours, and we all had fun. I will definitely be back to take more classes. Go to "Hempsteadny.gov keyword: pickleball lessons" if you are interested in learning this highly popular game. ADVISORY: Coach Elvis said that classes registered for online usually fill up within 15 minutes, and summer registration begins on 6/3/2025.

What I mean is that, when I'm here I am able to find peace and solitude, which is rare today. I'm currently experiencing a profound personal loss and feel my world will never be the same. My mind's been racing and my heart's been beating fast, from both being sick and from ruminating thoughts, however standing along the water's edge provides a much needed sense of tranquility. It's a feeling that inspires hope and reminds me that while sometimes our best made plans go awry and tides made change, the current of life still flows. When you can't change things, perhaps the best thing to shift is mindset. I'm still working on that one, one day at a time.. and walking along the sand here at Baldwin Harbor Park's secret beach gives me the mental space I need to keep on at it.

Nestled deep within East Rockaway, Bay Park - Hewlett Harbor, Lynbrook area. It has a small playground, pool and beachy areas. Not too big, but not to small, just right for a peaceful walk on a sun shining kind of day. It's just before the season really opens, so still quiet enough to take it all in. In past summers I know this location to host Town of Hempstead Music in the park evening event(s). Its an easy beautiful sandy area where you park your beach chair and listen to the mellow sound of the ocean waves behind you as the musical sounds of joy face and embrace you. :) Can't wait till the season really starts and I can enjoy a local park like this even more. Maybe I even bring my kayak down and ask to push myself off from their shore. :)

Lifeguards at the pool were on POINT. they were great. Pool got a little busy but nowhere near as busy as other TOH pools, which we loved! And the beach part had TONS of room. I'm going to go back alone just to lay out and tan because it's so pleasantly quiet !! We are hewlett residents so we paid $5.50 (kiddos under 10 were $2.75!) it might be slightly more for TOH residents who live outside of east rock or Hewlett, but not by much. If you're not a TOH resident make sure you go with someone who is otherwise the cost is $30. No rafts allowed in the pool area (even floaties) but the pool only goes up to about 6 feet. We had a couple non-swimmer kids with us and they had a blast in the low end. There's also a really cute kiddie pool/splash pad area for the younger ones! I can't believe I didn't know about this gem sooner! It was wonderful. Small, easy parking, easy to get around. There is apparently food on-site but I don't think it was open when we were there so we just headed to Lazy Lobster for fish and chips after our day at the beachpool (the term I coined for this amazing spot!) Cannot wait to go back!!
