Okayyyy but why did this little Mexican snack and ice cream spot just become my entire personality?…read more I went in thinking "quick treat" and walked out planning my entire summer around this place. First up: the fruit cup. Cucumbers, jícama, pineapple, and mango piled high, drenched in chamoy and dusted with Tajín like it was blessed by the snack gods. Sweet, tangy, spicy, crunchy -- it had everything going on and somehow it all made sense. My taste buds were confused... but in the best way. Then I got another cup because apparently self-control clocked out. This one had melons, apples, sweetened condensed milk, and a whole party of other goodness mixed in. It was giving "childhood nostalgia meets grown-up cravings." Creamy, juicy, refreshing -- basically summer in a cup. Everything tasted SO fresh. Like-cut-this-fruit-five-minutes-ago fresh. I already know when Phoenix hits 110° I'm going to be parked here pretending I "just happened to be in the area." If you see me with chamoy on my fingers and zero shame... mind your business 10/10. Refreshing. Flavor-packed. Summer body? We'll discuss later.

Plus we are going international, this is stop number two of two. Atmosphere - Take a step into a Mexican restaurant. The colors pop in this frozen treat palace. Large display freezers line the south side of the place. Drooling over all the treats, labeled in Spanish with a smaller font in English. The font was still large enough for this old guy. Food - I have been wanting to try a Paletas for a long time. It was worth the wait and I will be trying more in my future. I had the gooseberry, I do love berries and this one did not disappoint. I did eat it a little to fast and caused a brain freeze to occur. Service - I was greeted in Spanish. I had no clue what she said, but I responded in English, and after that we were good. We were the only ones in the place that was speaking English. The staff was very patient with us, as it was the first time here and there are so many choices. Future - Everyone loved their treats. So I could see coming back here again.

Great music playing in the background set the mood, songs like Knock Three Times and Song Sung Blue by Neil Diamond. The lady who helped me place my order, possibly the owner, was so sweet. Patient too, as I made my selections. It was hard to choose what to get as the shop has so many appetizing sweet and savory options on the menu. I ended up getting a chocolate milkshake and a 6-pack of oatmeal cookies I was able to take home and share, including chocolate chip (no nuts), chocolate walnut, peanut butter dark chocolate cashew, dark chocolate pecan, dark chocolate cashew, and oatmeal raisin with pecans (they have a nut-free version too). The taste of everything was phenomenal. The shake had the perfect consistency and a strong chocolatey flavor, yet wasn't too sweet. And the cookies were nice and chewy and loaded with delicious chunks of nuts and chocolate. Honestly, I couldn't really tell the difference between the nut and chocolate combo flavors as the oatmeal was really the highlight. The peanut butter one and oatmeal raisin were more recognizable. ALL of them were amazing!
