My ring is amazing and I love it!! This is a late review given I was proposed to over a year ago. Since then, I had my ring cleaned and adjusted and Emily still showed her great professionalism. We came in with a diamond and very little idea of what we wanted. Emily was incredibly patient and helpful when designing our rings. She had us try on several different rings in the shop to get an idea of what we liked and didn't like, then sent sketches to my fiancé of potential ring designs. The final pieces are so beautiful we both can't stop looking at them. She incorporated the diamond perfectly, and the handcarved flowers and plants on my ring are remarkably crafted & incredibly detailed. We felt the rings were very well priced & absolutely worth it. She was also very transparent about cost, which was super helpful for budgeting. They're truly the perfect rings to wear every day forever.

We immediately fell in love with his style and attention to detail with his jewelry (and his sweet dog, Ziggy). I initially wanted an emerald but thanks to Daniel's informational post about emerald's softness, we pivoted to a diamond and incorporated side emeralds. From my fiance's experience, Daniel was a sincere mentor who guided Evan throughout the process (design, diamond selection, insurance), without being a salesman. Daniel remembered our first visit and was able to create a unique and beautiful ring that I'm madly in love with! We are so grateful for finding Daniel and for the stunning ring he created for us! Daniel is now our jeweler and we can't wait to work with him in the future. Thanks for everything Daniel, see you soon!

I have only good things to say about Rebekah Brooks. We went on a whim, but from the minute we…read morewalked into the store both my fiancé and I knew this was our place. It has none of the pretentiousness of the Newbury spots we visited, and the Harvard Square store is cozy and intimate. But the best part is the superb staff--in particular Emily, who helped us design a custom engagement ring that exceeded my expectations. Emily was able to translate my rambling vision into something tangible. She is truly adept at balancing when to offer helpful context and guidance, when to share her opinion, and when to let you come to your own decision. All this allowed me to sort through my thoughts and wants, while ensuring my decisions were well vetted! She is endlessly patient (we went multiple times and asked a LOT of questions), and best of all, she listens to what you say and helps you understand what it really is you're looking for. She was also honest about what tradeoffs matter and when you can cut corners. The other notable thing about Rebekah Brooks--besides being a female-owned local business--is the aesthetic and style of the jewelry itself. If you are looking for something dainty and delicate with hints of vintage quality in a modern application, this is your place. (They can do less dainty too, but I found it hard to find other jewelers who achieved this quality.) And if you're on the fence, go in to look firsthand at the jewelry; it was a much different experience seeing it in person versus online, especially as their metals have a really beautiful and unique tone. It's no surprise that we also got our wedding bands from Rebekah Brooks, and we received the same great customer service. It was so special to have the Rebekah Brooks team on our side throughout this whole journey, and we feel so fortunate to have a place we were able to form a relationship with. If it's not obvious from this glowing review, I highly recommend Rebekah Brooks.

The soldering repair for my necklace cost $250, which I've since discovered was far above market rate. When the same issue happened again (in a new area of the chain), I had it fixed in Boston for $20, including polishing -- all done in about 30 minutes. I'd strongly recommend getting multiple quotes before agreeing to any repair here. I was really disappointed by the pricing and wouldn't recommend this shop based on my experience.

We worked with Matt again and continue to be absolutely thrilled with his service and our purchase. We purchased an in-stock setting designed and handmade by the team at Joseph Gann and Matt helped us find a diamond that was perfect for the setting. Matt taught us that balance of the 4Cs can be adjusted depending on your selected setting. Based on Matt's thoughtful guidance we purchased a diamond and a setting in our budget that I love every day. Amazingly enough, the in-stock setting looks like a custom setting and is exactly the custom setting I would have designed myself -- we were beyond fortunate that the team at Joseph Gann has such skill to create our dream ring before we dreamed it up! We are so grateful to have found Joseph Gann and highly highly recommend them.

The day we visited was a busy one but the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating giving us plenty of time to try on a variety of jewelry items from the display cases. No hard sell, no impatience, just good, attentive service. My cousin ended up with a beautiful long silver necklace interspersed with slices of quartz throughout. I fell in love with some dramatic earrings (shown in one of the photos) but when I tried them on they felt too heavy for my ear lobes (one lobe ripped once from years of heavy earrings and had to be repaired by a plastic surgeon so I'm not going down that road again) so with a heavy heart I put those beauties back on the shelf. There is plenty to look at on two floors of space here. There are lots of things to examine and explore on shelves, counters, and behind glass cases all beautifully presented. You can also find a few other things besides jewelry like hand-made silk scarves and metal serving pieces. I thought some of the serving pieces would make an excellent hostess gift when traveling to stay with friends for example.
