Meh. When it first opened, it was a lot better. Recently went for lunch, and it was OK. First, the fried rice with chicken- part of it was piping hot while other parts were cold. Spicy tuna roll had some odd coloring on some of the tuna pieces. The wasabi seemed to be frozen- something was just off with it. they are VERY tight with their ginger portions. Hot/sour soup was good, but was in the microwave for a minute too long. Staff is always friendly - they smile and greet you when arriving. We went here for the first time and sorry we waited so long. We have 2 dishes we use to judge for our taste, the Hot and Sour soup, in my experience few places know how to make it good and Zing hit it out of the park second were their scallion pancakes and they were light and crispy and delicious. There were like 4-5 strips of beef and not many green onions either. The quality was also a little scary, never seen any kind of beef look like that lol. We recently moved to the area and we love a good sushi night to take out and go home and treat ourselves. Unfortunately this sushi had no flavor. The sushi needed to be soaked in spicy Mayo or soy sauce to get remotely any flavor. We have tried it twice to give it the benefit of the doubt but both times was a disappointment. Way over priced! You'd be better off buying your own supplies and rolling your own from home with all the money you'd spend buying this. I hope they see these reviews and highly consider testing their own food. We were feeling lazy on a Sunday afternoon and ordered the following: 2 Shrimp Pad Thai Egg Rolls Crab Rangoon The Pad Thai was very filling and the flavor pretty good to me. As someone who has had plenty of Thai food in the actual country of Thailand I had zero complaints on the fish. The crab Rangoon was delicious as well. Slightly crunch, flavorful filling. We are obsessed with sushi and have had the best of the best and like to taste other places to see what they offer. Wonton soup - normally just has beef, theirs has shrimp and beef. Gave it a weird color and taste. Wonton noodles were soggy and did not taste good. Soy sauce was very salty. $50 wasted. Ordered the general tsaos chicken. This is the second time that I've had the dish. It wasn't great the first time that I had it. The only reason I ordered a second time was I thought maybe I would give it another chance. This time I spent more time examining the food. The chicken, after I cut it out of the breading tasted as if it were canned. It was terrible. The breading was so thick and gritty I couldn't even finish the meal. The sushi here is fantastic but I would recommend that you stay away from the dinner dishes. I also had the hibachi beef. It was fair at best. I will probably not order from Zings again. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! This is the second time I ordered take out and it was awful. Chicken dish was not fresh, it was old and definitely reheated. Also, food was lukewarm at best. The first time I had an issue was couple months ago. I ordered garlic eggplant it was so overcooked that you could not even recognize what was in the dish. The eggplant sauce was super thick and definitely not the same as previously ordered. I had been a good customer for some time but restaurant has gone downhill fast. This is by far thee best asian cuisine restaurant in the area! When you enter it has a nice quiet feel, with soft music playing and the place is always spotless clean. The employees are always professional and nice. You never have to wait long to be waited on and the food is cooked thoroughly and brought to you in a timely manner. I eat here 3-4 times a week and always get the hot and sour soup and a lunch special, which their lunch specials have so many choices it has something on there for everyone! But if you dont find that appealing that have a menu with countless amazing choices to choose from. We've been going to Zing since it opened. At first, the cuisine was very good, albeit, expensive. In the last year or so, I've found the delivery food has gone downhill. The soups are VERY heavy with salt -- to the point it's unpalatable. I've had the wonton and the mushroom. I can't eat the mushroom tonight because it's so laden in salt. Everything else is just average -- Pad Thai with all of the peanuts piled in the corner and General Tso's chicken. I feel Zing is becoming the lower end Asian cuisine with a big price tag. I find we're ordering less and less due to the price vs the quality. Update: 1/7/16 This place has gone downhill at a rate of speed unseen anywhere in this area. And that's not saying much. That this restaurant has "Asian" restaurant in the title is not cool. People, there are numerous Asian cultures. This is primarily a Japanese restaurant with only a few Thai dishes. Came here with family the first time to give it a try. Ordered the sashimi lunch plate (7 pieces of sashimi), the Thai mango chicken, chicken teriyaki lunch plate, and the California roll lunch plate. We also had a coupon- $10 off $20 lunch, but it excluded express items. What's cool: - They already give you chopsticks. - The miso soup was decent. There was tofu and seaweed in it. I've been to some restaurants with no seaweed or tofu. - The sashimi was pretty fresh and aside from the imitation crab meat stick, there was salmon, tuna, and another white fish. - Served with sliced ginger and good wasabi. - The interior is nice. I would not recommend large groups, because it's not spacious. Their sushi bar only has like 4 seats. What's not cool: - Imitation crab meat is NOT sashimi. That they include it in their sashimi platter and chirashi bowl is not cool. - Overpriced. The soft shell crab appetizer is $11. My guess is that much of their food is also imported, but still. - Not so great portions. The rice took up around half the plate and the entree itself was less than a quarter of the plate. As mentioned previously, once you combine the small portions with the price, it's not worth it. I was not full when it was over. - Service was alright, but the waitress didn't answer my brother in law's questions very well. It gave me the impression she's not very knowledgeable about the menu. Food was ok. Singapore rice noodles lacked flavor. My mother and I entered at 9 after a shift at a catering event down the road and we were hungry. We asked for it to go but sat at the bar height counter by the door and took a couple bites of our food before we left Bc we were starving and had a 45 min drive home. They came up to us and said "it's ok this time but food to go is food to go and sitting is for table service". Mind you it was 9 Pm and we were the only 2 in the restaurant! I'm delighted that Zing is bringing delicious sushi and pan Asian cuisine to our neighborhood. This cozy new restaurant is clean, bright, modern, and friendly providing both table and bar seating as well as take out. My first time there was on a Thursday night. The place was busy, but we only waited a few minutes for our table. I ordered my favorite Japanese dish Chirashi Sushi (a sushi salad) with a side of miso soup. The soup was perfectly seasoned and the Chirashi Sushi was delicious and beautifully presented. The Tuna Tartare I sampled off my girlfriend's plate was also very good with thin slices of avocado. Finally some good Asian good has come to Western Chester County! I've been waiting to try this place since it opened a few weeks ago and we were not disappointed. Our party of four arrived for dinner around 6:15 on a Sunday night. Parking is a little tricky and if you are coming from the east turning left into the parking lot can be a challenge since its right past a red light. We entered and there was one table available so we were seated right away. This is a small place, seating for no more then 30 people total. They don't do call ahead or reservations which could lead to some disappointment if they are busy. There is not a ton of space to wait if they are busy, Harry's is right across (busy) route 30 so you could dodge traffic and hit their bar until your table is ready. Our waitress greeted us promptly and took our order. We ordered two sushi roll appetizers and a mix of noodle and stir fry dishes for dinner. All arrived quickly and were very good. The owner checked on us during the meal which is always a good sign. The Mongolian beef was tender and well seasoned. The Singapore style noodles were spicy and contained a good mix of veggies and shrimp. Only complaint was with a very classic dish, sweet and sour chicken that one member of our party ordered. The veggies (peppers, onions) were raw and not cooked. The onions especially were too strong to be raw. For desert we shared tempura fried green tea ice cream. The sweet warm batter was a nice contrast to the dense rich cold ice cream. If you have the room it's worth a try :) read more

To give myself an update on how recent diners reviewed Zing, I just read a good chunk of the Yelp reviews. To say that I can relate to these Yelpers would be a lie. I've never eaten off of their sushi menu, and I've never ordered takeout from Zing before. That means I've inadvertently excluded the possibility of having a disappointing meal(s) and service at Zing. So here I am writing to you to exclaim that Zing is a go-to dinner place for my husband and me whenever we visit his parents nearby. As a family, we love the "zing wings" as a starter item, and Zing makes their wings consistently every time. I've had a bit of everything from each section of the dinner menu, from the hibachi style dinners (I usually choose the fried rice to accompany these types of dinners) to the noodles (especially the udon noodles). I think that the portion sizes for these non-sushi dishes are more than enough for even my husband who has what I call a "black hole stomach" haha. I usually have to bring home leftovers that usually heat up well the next day for a workday lunch. The quality is what I would expect from a solid Asian food establishment that you can find almost anywhere in the suburbs. What keeps us coming back is both the consistency and the convenience of travel. Call us "plain Jane" or "Average Joe" when it comes to choosing an establishment like Zing, but believe me - we've tried manyyyyyyyy restaurants like this and we think that Zing has what it takes to compete with some of the places we've tried. Its ability to thrive in a town like Sadsburyville shows that people from near and far will come to have a good meal, and we're one of those people. read more

Food is pretty good, not a huge fan of their soy sauce based foods because it's just a tad too watered down and bitter in my opinion. However that being said, their other menu options are pretty good. I do not recommend the squid, it's not what I thought it would be. Their bentos I have yet to try, but I am excited to do so since I love their salmon. I used to like going to this place on my lunch break from work but today was disappointing. I walked in around 2:00pm and I was the only one in the whole place. I normally bring my laptop or a book to make my lunch break productive, so I sat down at one of the normal size tables (there are 6 tables or so, all were empty). I was then told by the server that I needed to move to a very small table in the corner since I was by myself. There was no room for a book or laptop on the table, just my food. Not a single other person came in the whole time I was there, and all of the tables I would have preferred to sit at remained empty. Needless to say, I didn't stay long and don't think I will be back. The portion was very small, what I would normally pay $6-8 for and it was $12. I hate leaving reviews like this.. but the food is terrible. We stopped eating here a year ago because of this issue, but recently wanted to give them another chance because of the location. The sushi and sashimi were so fishy, only one or two pieces tasted "ok". The ginger smells and tastes like it's rotten, Like it did a year ago as well. So that's concerning. The soup and lo mein have no taste whatsoever. I was looking forward to that since our sushi was awful, but we ended up throwing those away too. Save your time and money. I wanted this food to be good since it is really close to our house. This is, hands down, the WORST Chinese/Thai food I've ever had. I ordered the Mongolian beef, Asian wraps and vegetable pad thai. The pad thai smelled rotten and one taste confirmed that something was very off with it. Not edible at all. The Asian wraps which are like spring rolls came with a strange chili sauce rather than peanut sauce and were not with the $11 for two. The Mongolian beef was only slightly passable and came with a small amount of rice... not enough for two people. My wife and I both agree this is the worst Asian food we have ever had. I've been a regular at Zing and enjoy the food and service. They are always accommodating to our needs. Both my son and daughter have severe food allergies. I always make sure to let them know about my kids' allergies before I order. By the way, dan dan noodle, if you Google it, has peanuts in the recipe. Normally I do not write reviews, but in seeing some of these previous reviews, I felt inclined to share my opinion of this restaurant.
