Wow after reading these negative reviews, I'm shocked. I had an incredible experience. I'm terrified of needles and expected a lot of pain, but....barely a pinch. I never had a root canal done so I could can only go based on what I've heard. The entire procedure was fast and painless. I was 1 hour late to my appointment due to trafic. I spent 1 hour and 30 min to get there. And they told me dr Ziegler could not see me today. There was literaly empty office. They even did not want to reschedule my appointment... I would go to different endodontist after that. Also this office would get a complaint from state. read more

Horrible HORRIBLE DOCTOR and receptionist!!! Customer service is extremely poor! He made sure to tell the receptionist to not take my re-scheduled appointment that they requested I reschedule because the doctor previously had an emergency on my original date! Angie was the receptionist and I could hear her and the doctor talking about refusing my appointment! I called my insurance and they too did not understand and they even spoke to them to get clarification. A SENIOR, he's awful, my grandma had to get a root canal, so this Doctor was the chosen one for the procedure. I have nothing but great things to say about the Doctor and also his staff. I was very reluctant to been seen the same day for a troubled root canal. The doctor was honest, friendly, extremely thorough and caring! He made sure many times I was okay and he was so fast and efficient. I had zero discomfort during and after the root canal. I couldn't believe it honestly. Lastly, the office phones rang off the hook and as a business owner I know that can only Mean one thing: he's worth it!! AVOID GOING TO DR. ZIEGLER!! If i could give 0 stars i would!!!! Both him and the office staff are EXTREMELY rude and arrogant. If you want decent bedside manner go somewhere else! Because of Dr. Ziegler's mistake i now i have to get my tooth extracted NOT EVEN 6 MONTHS AFTER THE ORIGINAL ROOT CANAL! When it was thought i just needed a re-treatment it was denied by my insurance because re-treatment of the same tooth is covered under the original root canal authorization and he did not have to put in for a re-treatment of the same tooth. He then refused to re-treat it because he technically wouldn't be getting paid, not caring that i have been in pain ever since the original root canal less than 6 months ago!! Last week I had a root canal and all I can say is that doctor Ziegler is amazing and I strongly recommend. I was scared that it would be painful and long however after a numb gel and two anesthesia shots no pain at all. The doctor was friendly, explained in details about my tooth (#14) and the procedure. It took only 25 minutes and in the end I was so happy. I read others reviews about the receptionists. All I have to say the two ladies were absolutely professionals and very friendly. I don't have one single complain towards them. I was called on time to his room and after it was done, one of the ladies at the front desk told me what I could expect later in terms of pain. I understand everyone can have a different impression but we are responsible for our reviews here. When I returned to my regular dentist, she said the root canal was very well done. read more

I'm still shocked how fast my root canal went. Dr. Ziegler was great throughout the process. Along with being so nice, he was constantly attentive of my needs and concerns, talking me through the procedure each step of the way. Afterwards he took the time to show me my before and after x-rays, explaining once again what he did. I remember my first root canal years ago as an agonizing 2 step process. The front desk, especially the girl (younger of the two that I saw at the front desk) that dyed her hair blonde with chubby physique has MAJOR attitude. I came here in person asking for some dental treatment and I was met with extremely arrogant and rude manner by that girl. I forgot to ask her name and I wish I did. That front desk girl treated me with a holier than thou attitude and actually interrupted me in the midst of talking several time in a tone of voice that was akin to yelling. All I wanted to do was ask some details about the process and cost for the treatment I am seeking and she raised her voice to me when I was confused about something she said and wanted clarification. Basically, I was treated as an idiot that was not worth one minute of this front desk girl's time. It amazes me that doctors let their staff get away with treating potential patients with that kind of behavior. As I read on the previous reviews, there seem to be issues with the front desk as well. I don't care whether Dr. Ziegler is talented or not, for him to not even discipline his staff at all at being polite to patients tells me he cares that much about patients. Seriously, I don't know what this front desk lady's relationship with the doctor is....is she the wife? the girlfriend? or what? I was here yesterday for a root canal, but I apparently forgot to check in on yelp. This was my first visit. I have Aetna for dental, if that matters to you. The building this office is in has a buzz gate, so make sure you use it to get inside. Also, the building itself is a bit labyrinthine, so keep your eyes open as you navigate the halls. The office itself, while small, is incredibly clean and professional. There is a great use of space going on here. The staff are very polite and where all smiles in the time I was there (from about 1-2 on a Tuesday). They were very clear on the phone before hand with what I needed to bring and what payments they accepted for my copay. Also, like most offices in queens, the staff are bilingual in English and Spanish so that every patient can be fully informed and understood. Dr. Ziegler himself: very polite and kind. A native New Yorker in my estimation and based mainly on the natural speed with which he spoke. His work was efficient and quick; NOT RUSHED, just quick. He explained everything to me as he did it, if not prior to doing it, and was very clear about how to tell him if I had any pain whatsoever. My husband had come with me, cuz I'm not great at directions the first time I have to find a place, and he helped me out. Full disclosure: I'd asked him to take the day off to help me with things because I was worried about pain issues afterwards. I really shouldn't have, I now know. He did help calm my nerves at least. The after care instructions he gave were simple and clear; also on a take home sheet they gave me with my receipt. It is very near the 63rd Rego Park train stop on the R line (near/behind) the mall that has Costco and pier 1 in it. A wonderful experience despite the cause for my visit. read more

I tried to see if he can reschedule but he said no, that I need to find a knew doctor . So they got the approval from my insurance to so the route canal and he still denied to see me just because I was late. He is rude, arrogant and a cranky man . He does not care about his patients . I was referred to Dr. Ziegler by Dr. Michael Love for a root canal. I was worried as hell but all of the anxiety disappeared within the first few minutes of meeting Dr. Ziegler. He is very friendly and made quiet a few jokes with me. He even went to the waiting area to tell my husband that I have full TV control for the rest of the day (LOL). He explained absolutely everything before he did it - including what he would be doing, using, and what would be in my mouth. He made sure I was completely numb before starting. The root canal was painless.. The only pain I felt was in my nerve that was exposed (hence the purpose for the root canal) but the pain wasn't bad at all. The office itself is clean and neat. The ladies at the front desk are polite and helped with me with any questions. They gave me an instruction sheet when I was finished that explained the pain I would feel for the next few days. With that, they included a packet of extra strength tylenol - so cute. The next day, I received a phone call to see how I was feeling. I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Ziegler at 2PM last week. I went in a little early, about 1:30ish, just to ensure I had the paperwork done before my root canal. I had my paperwork done, maybe waited for 5 minutes and I was done by 1:54PM. Although it was a fast procedure, just as Crys said, it wasn't RUSHED. He was thorough, and checked the x-rays with every part of the procedure that he did. Before, during, and after. I think all he does there are root canals, so he's got it down to a science. His dental assistant that was there during the root canal was really nice, no one was judgey, Carmen was really nice, and Dr. Ziegler has a truly great personality. He relaxed me by joking around the entire time. I'm sure he knows a lot of people going aren't in the greatest of moods, so it definitely eased my nerves. I'd totally recommend him to others, and I wouldn't be the least bit nervous going back, if I have to. read more

The following post depicts a true scenario which occurred at the hands of Dr. Benjamin Ziegler under this business entity. Any person seeking to speak to my friend is welcome to contact me and I'll be happy to share her contact information for further inquiry and validity of the following review. I recently went to get a root canal done. Naturally, as everyone is when going to the dentist, I was nervous and I explained this to the doctor. He said he understood and started with a shot to numb my mouth. I've had 5 root canals done already, so I am very familiar with the expectation and the feelings. He gave me the shot then left the room for five minutes. Right when he came back in, he clamped my mouth open to begin working. As he began drilling, I noticed the shot didn't numb the area and I felt the pain. I started making panicked sounds to show that I am feeling everything. He ignored my sounds and continued drilling. Since I couldn't move my mouth to talk, I continued to make louder sounds. He then finally asked, "Are you feeling this?" I immediately replied with sounds indicating that I was in fact feeling everything! He stopped and said ok I'll give you another shot and stuck the needle directly in my tooth. Needless to say the pain I felt was excruciating. Any shot you get to numb the pain is normally in your cheek. He then continued to drill without even waiting a minute. Of course the drugs didn't take effect and I once again started making sounds showing I was in serious pain. I felt every touch deep in my brain. He stopped and gave me another shot in my tooth and once again continued to drill, without waiting for the drugs to take effect. At this point I had tears running down my face and the second he started to drill again I finally put my hands up over my mouth where he said "I can't work like this" he then took the clamps out of my mouth and was done. He left me laying there without any consolation . He was insensitive, and did not complete the procedure. This kind of service is unacceptable. I left crying in so much pain and didn't even get a single "are you ok" from him. He is the worst dentist with the worst bed side manner ever! Beware -Do not see this creep! I waited 6 weeks for this consultation appointment. I was coming from Nassau County and got stuck in traffic on the Long Island Expressway. I called the office that I will be 15 minutes late. They told me if I didn't get there by a certain hour they will cancel my appointment. I spent a total of 5 minutes in the chair (he only took x-ray's) . For what reason did I have to wait so long for an appointment for a nothing to do appointment. I was instructed by my dentist that I needed to see an Endodontist because he couldn't do 2 root canal's. The secretary submitted the paperwork to the insurance. The insurance company called me to tell me that the root canal was approved but not the x-rays (the insurance company said they put in the wrong code). I called the girl back at Endodontics office to let her know and she was arguing with me that she did it the correct way (I would have to pay $11 out of pocket. The cost of the x-ray is not the problem it's the principle). The insurance company called up this low brow secretary up himself to explain which code she needed to put in. She didn't want to hear nothing of this. Not only was she rude to me but to the insurance company as well! I'm so glad that the insurance company records the conversation so the hire ups can hear how nasty she was. In addition, the dentist now does not want to see me because I made a commotion! I didn't make a commotion- why should I pay when the insurance will pay and they need to correct the mistake they made! Also, this low life nasty woman told me that the endodontist does not see any patients from Long Island. He made an exception for me. If he is licensed in the state of New York and I live in New York State (which I do) by law he is obligated to see me as a patient. I don't need any favors. Not only should she not be working in this office but New York State should review his practices! Last but not least the insurance company mentioned to me that they can release my paperwork and I can go see if a different specialist (so I don't have to see these people again and get more aggravated). I would give him a minus 5 star if I could. He doesn't even deserve a one star. If he acts like this I could just imagine what a shister he is and what lousy work he would do on me! read more

Great doctor! I went to have a root canal yesterday on a tooth that was calcified. I was quite nervous. Dr. Ziegler handled my situation so well and worked so fast and pain free. Could not be more satisfied with Dr. Zeigler. Aside for getting me in and out within record time, his work was by far, better than any other dentist I've ever been too. I had to re-do a root canal that was done overseas 3 yrs ago. I was referred by my insurance. On the 1st visit I filled out paperwork for the insurance and had an x-Ray done. On the second visit, I had the root canal done in 20 minutes (this includes the removal of my old crown) Dr. Zeigler even showed me the pics and explained his procedure. Very professional and gets the job done fast. I am very pleased and I recommend Dr. Zeigler to anyone seeking a root canal. The office staff was pleasant and helpful. My 80 year old mother just got her complicated root canal appt cancelled after waiting 3 weeks because "they do not have the microscope they need to do the procedure" I see the same thing happened to another reviewer and now I am convinces they are scammers and completely unprofessional. I consider myself very lucky to have known of Dr.Ziegler. He did 2 of my root canals and is being very consistent in 3 very important things for me: 1. On time and I mean that he would be starting right at the appointed time. 2. Painless during the proceedure 3. Almost pain free right after (just a little sensitive, which is totally normal and can't be avoided) In addition, he works very efficient. Both times I spent 20 min in the chair. Negative stars!! SCAM!! I came in for a consultation with photo copies of my X-RAYS of the root canal I needed done , they said they take their own photo copies . Ok I understand, but then Dr.Ziegler called me in and took another X-RAY (1) quickly told me to go back to the receptionist, and he left . She asked me for $72 and said I couldn't be attended there because the supposedly the"root canal " specialist didn't have a microscope????? Mind you he didn't explain anything to me. Arrived on time for my appointment. During the hour-long wait, I started looking at reviews and I was shocked by all the horrible reviews of the front desk staff. I must agree with most of the negative reviews about the staff. Especially, the Colombian girl with the dyed blonde hair, she has an attitude problem and she lacks education. She does not know how to explain things properly. I understand that English is her second language, but she needs to stop rolling her eyes, when people don't understand what she's trying to say. The doctor seems very friendly, knowledgable and pleasant. He must say, I am amazed at how je has shaked every patients hand as they entered and exited. I even say him pull out chairs for people in the waiting room. With regards to the staff, the doctors lack of addressing the issues with this staff, is an indication of either he doesn't care, or he just wants to preserve eye candy. NOT ENOUGH GOOD WORDS TO SAY ABOUT THIS DOC!! I am terrified of doctors and dentists, but he literally erased the fear. I needed emergency root canal and from start to finish was 39 minutes. He was gentle, sympathetic and oh so quick!! He numbed me, which I hardly felt thanks to his use of numbing gel first, and after that the rest was absolutely painless! I called this dentist to double check if he preforms a certain procedure. My insurance informed me that he does . While on the phone with the receptionist CARMEN I was quickly welcomed by her with a nasty Friday morning attitude. So nasty, that I was taken back. Let me just say that I am in severe pain and swelling and am in need of this procedure ASAP. The last thing I need is nasty attitude! When I asked for her name she said " what do you need that for" and hang up the phone. I had to call back to get her name. CARMEN made sure the dentist is represented NOT!
