This was my first ever root canal and I must say it was a pleasant experience. I'm sure you have never heard those two subjects in the same sentence before. Well it was true. Dr Mirman was very gentle and kind and the whole experience was painless and not as uncomfortable as I assumed it would be. I was amazed! Of course I hope never to need another root canal but without a doubt I know where I am going if I do! Thank you to Dr. Miranda and his lovely staff! read more

Thank you Dr Johnson!! You did a wonderful job on my Fiancé's root canal. He has an implacable fear of needles & dentists and Dr Johnson made that all melt away for the first time in his life. His bedside manner is like nothing we've ever seen before. His conversations are like a calming lullaby. My fiance even said that he felt like he was being serenaded during his entire visit! You walk out of his office almost forgetting what you came there for because you are so relaxed when you leave. We will be recommending Dr Johnson to EVERY one we know & will get ALL future dental work done at this office. Thank you again Dr Johnson for a perfect visit! read more

We came to City Endodontics with an urgent situation with a family member in severe pain and were treated very promptly. Dr Marcus Johnson and his staff were kind, helpful, and professional. We felt safe and very well taken care of, and the doctor let me watch the procedure on the monitor and I can attest firsthand to his thorough and meticulous work. Kim at the front desk was also very helpful and looked out for us when dealing with our insurance company. Thanks team! read more

Dr. Marcus Johnson and his staff are exceptional and highly professional. I went here in the spring of 2025 and I finally wrote this review because the skill and mastery that Dr. Johnson demonstrated are unforgettable. He was able to make a complex, yet truly pain-free, procedure to save my tooth. He checked on me constantly and was so vigilant in his efforts to do his best. I left with not only a very successful root canal but the distinct feeling of having been treated like a VIP, and this was my treatment from front of house to the back. The quality of care, from top to bottom, is a testament to strong leadership. I highly recommend City Endodontics for anyone needing this kind of service read more

Worst root canal ever. They caused more pain than I had to start with. When I went back for emergency up, they took more X-rays and saw problems that weren't addressed. I remember the look that the endo at the practice gave me. He was basically wide eyed and subtly shaking his head. I knew there was a problem, but he wouldn't tell me what was wrong. He advised only that I make that me an appt with my orig. endo at City Endo to review them. I never bothered. Recently after experiencing more pain than I could stand, I went to another practice altogether. I decided to remove the tooth. It was a 2 hr surgery. During that time, they said prev endo didn't put a pin in the tooth. This led to the tooth becoming brittle and crazy difficult to remove (2 hour surgery)). The fact that they found another root made things more difficult and painful. And truly baffling that City Endo missed it! Also, the tooth had fused to the jawbone. It's now 6 days after tooth removal, I'm on a second round of antibiotics, the pain is excruciating . All of this would have been avoided if City Endo had done the root canal correctly. read more

I am severely dental-phobic and could never have imagined myself waxing poetic over a complicated root canal procedure, but here I am because of the extraordinary competence and care of Dr. Marcus Johnson at City Endodontics. He is meticulous in his work and was extremely attentive to my needs throughout the entire procedure, making sure that I was comfortable at all times and was not experiencing any pain. The City Endodontics facility is state-of-the-art (almost futuristic) with all the latest equipment and tools. Equally impressive, however, was the warmth and attentiveness I received from Dr. Johnson and all his staff, including his assistant who even held my hand (because I was so nervous) at the beginning and in the middle of the procedure. In short, City Endodontics provided highly professional, warm and personalized service on a procedure I had been really dreading. read more

I thought City Endodontics gave us a good experience. My partner was referred here by our dentist when he needed a root canal. The office staff were great and offered us water instantly, and honestly the office was very relaxing. I imagine that when you come here, you're here for a pretty stressful reason, but the office did a good job of bringing those stress levels down. The root canal was done and there were no issues with it. From what I heard, they did a good job to accommodate my partner and the difficulties he was having with the procedure. Overall, would recommend City Endodontics for the good care and the way they handle your experience with them from start to finish. read more

I am dental phobic and Dr. Johnson, Dr. Jones (anesthesia) and Kim the office manager provided me with the best service ever. I was very nervous to have my 2 root canals but they made the process seamless. Kim is very attentive and will even reach out by text and on weekends. They made my family who was waiting for me very comfortable. Do not hesitate to get treatment by Dr. Johnson! read more

This was an amazing office. I was traveling for work and having horrible pain from a molar I knew needed a root canal. I reached out to Dr Marcus Johnson and the office staff was amazing and they fit me in the next day. The office is in an old bldg which I liked because it had charm. The office was clean and the dr was amazing. He kept me very calm. When he gave me the Novocain shots prior it didn't even hurt. The procedure itself took 2 hours and dr kept me apprised every step of the way. The price was comparable with all others in LA. I cannot say enough about what a great experience this was (for having to have an emergency root canal). Highly recommend. read more

There are no words for the brilliance, knowledge, manner, and temperament of Dr. Marcus Johnson. This was a total scam. I got ripped off but you should not. He's a nice guy but it is an absolute scam on the billing. They never billed my insurance which I guess they don't take and charged me an insane amount for one root canal not even the crown. It was 2500 dollars. Please don't get ripped off. read more

Kind and professional staff! Everyone treated me well and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Johnson did a great job at explaining everything he was doing and completed my root canal without me feeling any anxiety or pain. I hope never to need his services again :-) but I will recommend this endodontist to anyone who needs it, including my family, friends, neighbors and fellow Yelpers. read more

Dr Marcus Johnson was a God-Send during sudden onset severe tooth pain the day before Christmas. He agreed to work me in. His staff is courteous. He reviewed X-rays, examined my teeth & diagnosed me quickly & accurately. He has a wonderful, professional, kind manner...he did not rush his explanations to me despite the busy holiday schedule. Also his talent for teaching/explaining on the patient's level is tremendous. Brilliant. My husband and I have both seen him again, & will continue to when in the city. read more

The reviews don't lie. My experience here was just as excellent as all of the reviews describe. After noticing some discoloring during my routine dental cleaning, my primary dentist suggested calling City Endodontics for a quick consult. They were able to squeeze me in during the same week for x-rays that quickly revealed decaying tooth pulp. Yikes. Dr. Weldon suggested a 360 x-ray to see if they'd be able to salvage my tooth. Since it wasn't pain that drove me to their office, we decided to wait on same-day surgery. If you can, I highly recommend this for those with Guardian dental insurance. It took three weeks for Guardian to get back to them with pre-determination. By doing this, we were able to avoid any awkward insurance hiccups and ensure I was charged in-network rates. Shout out to Kim who kept following up with Guardian and put up with my weekly check-in calls. The root canal procedure went unbelievably smoothly. Dr. Weldon talked me through the whole process and eased all my worry since this was my first root canal. Her process was quick, painless, and all in all, took less than 2 hours between two appointments. I honestly can't recommend Dr. Weldon and City Endodontics enough! read more

My recent visit to City Endodontics was pleasant and overall satisfactory. From the courteous receptionist who answered my questions about forms, to the hygienist who prep me for my visit, City Endodontics made my experience an enjoyable one.   Throughout my examination, Dr.Weldon demonstrated a thorough understanding of dental care. Her personal and friendly manner put me at ease as I considered my dental care options. I highly recommend Dr. Weldon and her team to any one who is  seeking out courteous and professional dental care.   Thank you City Endodontics PLLC for all you to put those who are reluctant to seek out professional dental care. By far, the best oral care experience I have ever had! Dr. Johnson is PURE GOLD! If any of my friends or family go anywhere else after talking with me, I will downright be mad at them! I went in for a root canal, which has the reputation of being one of the most painful experiences you can have. But I literally dozed off a couple of times during the process! When he was done, I said, "Was that IT?!??" Dr. Johnson says that he tries to give everyone the same level of care he would give his own mother - and I believe it! He kept warning me that there might be some discomfort. And I would brace myself. But, then, NOTHING HAPPENED!!! Seriously, folks, I have had more uncomfortable experiences going to the grocery store! If you need an endodontist and you are reading this, do not hesitate: Dr. Marcus Johnson and his team at City Endodontics will take excellent care of you! read more

The best place to get root canal done, from receptionist to the whole experience everything was amazing.

Dr. Marcus Johnson and his staff get an A+ for hospitality, comfort and understanding. My initial call to the office was received by Kim, whom was professional, courteous and very accommodating. Then came the moment of truth, coming face to face with Dr. Marcus Johnson. I was sitting in the chair nervous and not knowing what to expect, and what a breath of fresh air it was. He listened to my concerns, made me feel comfortable and assured that he would work with me. I am so grateful of their service and passion for the work that they do. 5 Stars Hands Down Dr. Marcus and his staff Kim and Yan made my experience of getting a root canal so amazing that when it was all said and done I was truly sad to know that I would not be coming back again. I had to give them a huge hug. Here is the reasons I recommend them: 1. Pain free: I had to fix an infected root canal that I had done 10 years ago, and had to come in a few weeks later to complete the procedure. I was extremely nervous but after my first injection not hurting I felt I could trust Dr. Marcus to keep me pain free, and I was right. 2. Comfort: free netflix, they made me laugh alot and were extremely patient with mt questions, phone calls, enquiries, and having to reschedule 3. Location is near Grand Central Station 4. Knowledgeable and provided guidance- always got a follow up call and always received a call back 5. Kind- They treat others how they would expect to be treated, and also considered some financial factors to assist, which was not something many people do read more

İ am giving Dr. Howard Stieglitz ONE STAR REVİEW. İ was there back in July 19, 2017. My daughter who is a 7year old needed emergency Root canal care. We were reffered from a pediatric office because it was a big emergency. İ understand that between coleagues they refer to each other last minute patients. İ was really happy he took us with no appoinment and only within 1 hour of calling the office. However, the minute my poor daughter sat on that chair ( LET ME SAY PRİOR TO THİS MY DAUGHTER HAD 6 cavities taken care of, ALL WİTH LOCAL ANESTHESİA, so NO SHE WASNT AFRAİD OF DENTİSTS) this guy Showed NO SYMPATHY FOR HER. İts like HES NEVER BEEN CLOSE A CHİLD İN HİS LİFE. He was jamming a ton of stuff i her mouth and using force to make her sit Still. And then he was trying to shame her when she started crying. Telling her that her whole mouth is gonna rot if she doesnt cooperate. İn conclusion i LEFT THAT OFFİCE WİTH A CHİLD WİTH PHOBİA TO DENTİST AND İ STİLL HAD TO PAY THİS GUY $150 FOR DOİNG ABSOLUTELY NOTHİNG. İ went there to GİFT HİM $150 and for GİVİNG MY CHİLD DENTİST PHOBİA. İ felt ROBBED OF MY MONEY , and after that i HAD TO PAY ANOTHER DENTİST TO HAVE HER SEDATED BECAUSE AFTER THAT BAD EXPERİENCE SHE WOULD NOT SİT ON ANOTHER DENTİST CHAİR. Unfortunatelly, thats the way it goes. Doctors with money only care about one thing: MONEY. İf you got the money you'll get excellent service. İf you dont: you'll get Fckd. read more

BEWARE!! I had a root canal procedure in March 2021 and I ended up in the Mount Sinai emergency room that evening! Dr Johnson seems like a nice guy but I would NEVER go back to City Endodontics. I was having major tooth pain in the middle of this pandemic, and NY City Endodontics was one of the only offices still seeing patients. I went in to adjust my bite, but found out that I had some other issues, and need a root canal. Dr. Marcus Johnson was kind, patient, and incredibly professional. I was so scared of this procedure, but he kept me calm and talked me through it. Since then, my regular dentist even said that it was a beautifully done root canal. I am very happy with his service, their availability, and the dedication to taking care of patients even in the middle of a global pandemic. Kim was also super helpful in making sure I had all the documentation I needed and follow ups. Couldn't recommend them enough! read more

I highly advice people to go to an Endodontic specialists for their root canals and not to general dentists. I especially recommend everyone to visit this specific clinic, they have modernistic equipments and are skilled to do such procedure. The staff are very friendly; namely Ms. Lily and Ms. Kim. They were very accommodating which helped me become less nervous. Dr. Marcus was extremely patient in explaining the situation of my tooth, this made me trust his capabilities more, I admire his professionalism. IMPORTANT INSURANCE INFORMATION Received a quick root canal procedure from Dr.Johnson, he was absolutely great. Great at communicating with you regarding the procedure and what to expect. Great during the treatment and checking up on you. The office followed up the day after my appointment. All in all, I would recommend this doctor to others. My complaint, however, is the way the insurance was handled by the office, see below. I called before scheduling my appointment and asked to have an appointment with Dr.Johnson and also if they are IN NETWORK with my insurance, to which they said Yes, THE OFFICE is in network with your insurance. I said great let's schedule an appointment. After getting to my appointment and was shown the price of my out of pocket amount, I couldn't believe it. It was way HIGHER than normal for IN NETWORK pricing. I didn't really have too many options then and accepted it and we got the procedure done. Again, the procedure went smoothly and Dr. Johnson was great. I call my insurance company a few days later and ask them if the office and doctors are IN NETWORK to which they respond that the OFFICE IS IN NETWORK BUT NOT THE SPECIFIC DOCTOR I MENTIONED. So, I finally understood what happened. The office failed to mention in my initial phone call that the doctor I was seeing (Dr.Johnson) was out of network and the out of network price is what i paid. I thought it was misleading when the front office says they are in network but in reality the doctor you are scheduled to see is out of network. They should tell people that on the phone before the appointment, could have saved me hundreds of dollars. This is not like a hospital where there are various specialists that could potentially not be in network with the insurance. This is just one specialty office, Endodontics, so I would think it would be good practice to tell people who ask. For future patients, ask if the specific doctor you are seeing is in network with your insurance if this applies to you. read more
