Decided to try Zesty Thai due to the high reviews. My husband got the grilled pork which he really enjoyed. I tried the panang curry which I was happy to hear they can make all their curries vegan. Good assortment of veggies. Bowl wasn't super full so wished I got a little more and the crispy tofu starter was very small for $7.95 weeks got 8 small pieces, more like 7.5 lol. This is by far some of the very BEST Thai food in Colorado. I popped in once a few weeks ago just to give it a try and I find myself coming back multiple times a week. Everyone here is so friendly and the food comes out hot, fresh, and quick. I love how relaxed the place is and it's a great place for a quick lunch or a cozy dinner. My recommended must-trys are the Thai Tea (so so so good, not too sweet), Pad See Ew (Pork and Shrimp are my favorite), cream cheese wontons, and Pad Thai. I am still working my way through the menu, but I have yet to find anything that I don't love. Highly, HIGHLY recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner. What a wonderful new Thai restaurant in the far north of Colorado Springs! Worth finding! The small but lovely restaurant is in a strip center and has good signage. The interior is simply decorated, but very classy and beautiful. We were greeted and seated by friendly staff, and eventually even spoke with the owner, Ingrid (her Thai name is Chulata {spelling?}) who retired after many years working at the Broadmoor. This is her retirement dream. And cooking this wonderful food is her passion! Her favorite thing to cook and create is amazing sauces. Within input from both Chulada and our server, we decided to order the Zesty Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer. We arrived before 3 PM so we had lunch portions of the Garlic Stirfry with chicken and the Roasted Thai Chili Sauce Stirfry with tofu, all medium+ heat. (We both ordered iced tea, which was available, although it does not show up on the online menu.) The teas came out first and were served with compostable straws, which was nice. They were followed closely by the brussels sprouts. Rather than the crispy fried brussels sprouts you often see at restaurants nowadays, these were stirfry in an amazing chili sauce with cashews, cranberries, and crispy garlic. They were delicious! We had chosen the two stirfry so that we could share them and try both of their sauces. Both were absolutely wonderful! The Garlic Stirfry with chicken had a more delicate flavor and had lots of vegetables. The Roasted Thai Chili Sauce Stirfry with tofu and vegetables was richer, and also wonderful. It was a great combination. Next time, we plan to order ice spice level of "hot" because the medium plus was a little spicy, but not quite as spicy as we like it. I finally tried Zesty Thai over the weekend, and was impressed by the food and service. 1) The menu is extensive with various rice and noodles options (tofu, and all the meats) + lots of apps & soup dishes as well. 2) The appetizers we ordered were served promptly. The wontons had good filling and the sauce complemented the fritters well. The wings were saucy and delicious too. 3) The Garlic Stir Fry dish was a good serving size and had a homely feel to it (not too acidic or spicy like other places). The Chicken Pad Thai was decent but could use some more veggies etc. While the eatery was surprisingly empty on a weekend evening, the phone was ringing off the hooks and to-go orders were bring picked up a plenty. We just picked up our To Go order. I wanted to try something new so I ordered the pork item off the "Chef Menu". It was horrible. The pork was tough, fatty, and had zero flavor. The extra vegetables I ordered had no spice...or taste. There is no way they even used salt. The small container that was in with the meal...not sure what that was...but I tasted it and it was horrible too. I had to add soy sauce to try to eat the pork, but wound up throwing 80% of it out. What a waste of a lot of $$. I will never go back. As a side note...my husband had the pad Thai. He said it was ok. There are much, much better Thai restaurants to go to. I've been here before and the meals were pretty good. This experience was so disappointing. I guess I'll have cereal now, since I am hungry. As an additional note, this morning I have a very sick stomach. Just what I need on a sacred holiday weekend. I'm positive the food I had from this place was bad. I put in a call to the owner/manager, but have yet to hear back. I'm disgusted. At the very least, whoever prepared this dish knew the meat was very fatty and full of gristle. They should never have given that out to a customer...much less charged roughly $20 for it...plus $3.00 for the horrible vegetables. Update: The manager called me, I'll give her credit for that...but instead of apologizing for that atrocious meal, she tried to explain it...that it was supposed to be dry and fatty? Really? I didn't say anything about being dry. Bottom line...she prepared the meat in my order that was full of fat and gristle...the toughest, worst tasting I've ever had...and called it a Chef Special. I couldn't eat it, because it was so tough. I also became very sick the next day. Wish I had taken a picture of this...but I was quick to throw it out. So friendly and helpful. We ordered chicken satay, pork larb, and a garlic stir fry. The satay was tender and came with a tiny peanut sauce, but could have been more seasoned. I'm a big fan of pork larb and was not disappointed- delish! As for the stir fry... I requested hot and I thought it was on the hot side of medium, but spouse got the hiccups and my spice meter is broken anyway. We both loved that one. Zesty Thai is a winner! Owned and operated by Ingrid and Adam, who have years of culinary experience. They take so much pride in serving quality food that is free of MSG. The three curries are lower in sodium than most other Thai restaurants because they use higher quality ingredients, yet still have reasonable menu prices. They aren't in this business for the money, but for the people and to serve delicious food. It's nice to dine somewhere where the staff and owners take pride in customer service, food quality, taste, and price. A hard find anymore! ~Pineapple fried rice, wow, so delicious and fresh tasting! It had a nice touch of basil that brought all the flavors together. ~Garlic Stir fry, another hit. It actually wasn't too garlicky, but just right. I got the waiters attention and he said he would send someone else to help me. I waited for a while and finally someone came. It was supposed to be a simple fix but the guy didn't understand or speak English very well. He then left and got another person to help. After that, we got our food. I had eaten here about 6 times in the past and thought it was great. But it's been a while. I ate there with my girlfriend recently and neither of us enjoyed it at all. I would have just left without eating it if we didn't have to get to a show in Denver, and had to eat something. My basil eggplant stirfry was sauced with what I would describe as salty water. I couldn't taste any basil. My girlfriend's noodle dish was dry and bland. I was extremely surprised. When I told the waitress it wasn't very good at all, she just walked away. I have been wanting to try Zesty Thai since it has opened and finally got a chance to partake in it. The location is now becoming a nice little foodie place with Mexican, macaroni cheese, Japanese and thai food all really close and all featuring new little restaurants. First off, everyone was really friendly. We had reservations, so walked right into our spot, however, it took quite some time to get water and we didn't get our silverware until after the food was served, which was the difference between four and five stars for me. The food itself was really good. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and my wife got the pad thai. We then each split our meals so we could try both dishes. I had to order extra spice on the side. We also got coconut shimp and won tons. I really liked the coconut shrimp. Finally we ordered the steamed veggies. I was somewhat disappointed with the veggies as they really didn't have much flavor. The pineapple fried rice was loaded with big chunks of pineapple. That makes me so happy. The pad thai lacked a little bit of sauce, but the sauce that it did have was delicious. Came in this past week for a quick takeout. Ordered Pad Thai with Chicken... I ordered a Thai Hot and it was perfect! The order was piping hot and in the time it took me to get to work it was still hot.... The chicken was white meat and cooked perfectly... I loved the flavors and the consistency. The service was friendly but not as attentive due to the volume of business at the time. Portions were great! Had a lot leftover for lunch the next day. We got take-out and had a mixed experience. We ordered chicken satay, egg rolls, drunken noodle (hot, chicken), and pad se ew (medium, chicken). Here's the good: the chicken satay tasted great by itself, the egg rolls were good, and there was a ton of meat in the two main dishes. The hot spice level was as expected, which was great, and the chicken was well seasoned. Here's the bad: the chicken satay was missing the peanut sauce (oh, no!) and the cucumber salad, and there were only 2 full pieces of chicken and a third small sliver. Every time I've ordered this at other places, it's about double the volume for the same price. The main dishes, when I typically order them, are usually bathed in a ton of the brown sauce; but here they were drier than expected. I usually enjoy these noodle dishes with a lot more sauce, which helps with the flavor. To be fair, all of the food was good.
