Combo plate with double spinach. Orange tzatziki sauce over meat and spicy sauce on the side.

This place smelled yummy walking by during lunchtime on an Easter weekend Saturday. The line was long and took forever to order but it was worth the wait (esp compared to the type of food other food trucks were selling in that vicinity). Got the combo plate with double order of spinach. Got the spinach because of all the reviews on yelp and YES IT REALLY IS GOOD! People were complaining about the rice but it wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews made it seem. It wasn't superb or anything but it's totally mediocre and good enough to go w/ the meal. They gave me lots of chicken with not that much lamb. The chicken was good, but the lamb was much better. I wish they gave me more lamb. The orange tzatziki sauce was tasty. They sell a can of soda for $1. They also sell a 20oz bottle of water for $1. Twenty ounces for a dollar?? That's a steal deal!

    Chicken Platter

This was a pretty average food truck experience. There are some really awesome kabob trucks out there and this just isn't one of them. I ordered the chicken platter, which came with rice and two sides (I got spinach and caesar salad). The chicken was good but not great. Some pieces were tasty and others not so much. Although not amazing, definitely still enjoyable. The rice was standard yellow rice and I actually thought it went nicely with the chicken. The salad was as one would expect a caesar salad to be. The spinach though was disappointing and not as good as other reviewers had described. It was too watery and lost the appeal of its flavor after a bite or two.

Yummy food, big portions, and a nice salad :)

A solid 4.5 stars, i rounded up because 1) tax is included and 2) they were super nice. First things first, huge portions which always keeps me at the minimum a 3.5 star level unless the food is not edible. I mean the worst thing is having great food and not enough of it... Zesty gives me more than enough to keep me happy... and sleepy during the workday afternoon. Their chicken tastes moist and seasoned well, the lamb is the standard cube/mix but no complaints from me. They do have the standard chickpea and spinach side but what sets them apart is that you have options on the salad. (or you can opt for a veggie medley). The only minor knock is that their rice while good is just the standard yellow, with kebobs you have to go with the fennel/herb infused rice to get the full authentic flavor of halal food. But definitely worth a stop if you see this truck, the server also gives you free samples of chicken and lamb as well if you want a taste before diving in.

Great price, portion, and flavor. I came here for lunch when walking by the area and ordered the veggie platter (since I'm a vegetarian). It had a side of spinach, with a main course of chickpeas and rice. The rice was standard yellow rice. But the chickpeas and the sauce made the meal. Service took less than 5 minutes even during the lunch rush. I would recommend.

    Daily special

Went to D.C. with a couple of friends to try some good food trucks and I came across Zesty Kabob. I ordered the daily special which was lamb and chicken over rice or salad and a choice of two sides. I got the chickpeas and spinach. The service is pretty good, but when I got my order it only came with lamb, not the additional chicken. The flavors were really good and not too spicy, and the chickpeas and spinach were mediocre as well. Adding the sides to the salad is a definite must as it adds more flavor and makes the meal even more enjoyable.

Probably some of the BEST chicken I've tried from a kabob place in like...EVER! Randomly stopped by their food truck in front of Starbucks and the guy was so nice and offered to give me samples and they did not disappoint! This is a MUST try if you see their food truck. You get a lot of bang for your buck!! 5 stars!

I stopped at this food truck after half a day of walking around D.C. I ordered the combo Kebab with chickpeas and salad. I appreciated the generous portion. The food was tasty and flavorful.

Their spicy lamb gyro sandwich is one of the better food truck gyro sandwiches. I'd give it a 4 relative to other food trucks.

I was still a little hesitant until this nice woman came along and vouched for the food. I had no idea about what to order, but as soon as I saw her food come out I was sold. I told the guys to give me exactly what she had, which included a quarter chicken, corn, and potatoes. I got back up to my office and enjoyed all of it. The chicken was well done and well seasoned, the corn was tasty, and the potatoes were better than what I was expecting. Can't really explain it but they were like roasted and mashed at the same time.. whatever it was it was great! Oh and that sweet orange sauce that they gave me took the chicken to another level. Insert fire emojis Lastly, the guys working the truck were some of the coolest food truck people that I've ever interacted with. Combine that with good food and you can def count on my coming back again.

Both times I've ordered the same thing - a quarter dark meat with one side. It comes with basmati rice (which you can sub out for a different side) and a choice of a salad, coleslaw, and corn. I've chosen the coleslaw both times - I find it so unique, with its cabbage and basil-like dressing. Definitely NOT your usual slaw. I will try the corn one of these days, though. On to the chicken - They give you a good amount of chicken and it is very, very juicy. I can't comment about the skin (I don't eat the skin, I take it off...I know to some of you that's a sin!) but my co-workers have previously commented that it is nicely seasoned. They also provide you with a mild barbeque sauce, and today they gave me a new sauce, which was curry-based. It's slightly thicker than the barbeque sauce, which while it has good flavor, is a bit thinner (it complements, not overpowers, the chicken). I alternated between both sauces today. I have to also complement the owner/manager - I had exactly $8 in cash (keep forgetting about the taxes for food trucks!) so he let me go without paying the $.80, that was really nice of him. I'll be sure to give it back to him next time! Overall, a solid, filling meal, and I would return!

Just outside the L'Enfant Plaza Metro stop (on the Maryland Ave side), you'll know you're in the right place by the crowds of Federal office workers queuing up for their favorite truck. There's a great variety from southern soul food to barbeque, from pho and banh-mi to Indonesion, from Philly cheese steaks to gyros. My daughters each had beef pho from the Pho-Nation and Vietnamese Food trucks (piping hot flavorful broth, plenty of noodles, slices of tender beef, cilantro, and accompanied with hot sauce and lime wedges on the side); my wife had the falafel salad from the Quick Bites truck which was outstandingly tasty and light, made with a chickpea and fava bean combination with a herb blend that gave them a unique green color on the inside; while I had the gyro platter from the same truck. Excellent lamb meat, well-seasoned, good tzatziki sauce, and accompanied by a fresh salad and stewed chickpeas. About $9 each for these meals and the trucks take credit cards. Don't settle for the tourist trap food trucks lined up near the Smithsonian museums -- these are terrible with microwaved pizza slices and hot dogs only ... make the short walk to these real food trucks and you won't be disappointed.
