So my cozy home has primarily hard surface wood and "luxury vinyl" plank flooring, but I do have two large area rugs in the living / dining areas. One of them is adjacent to the front door, and the other is under the dining room table. So the rug that is by the front door is in a high traffic area and the one under the dining room table was "decorated" (in six different places) by my dog who was not feeling well yesterday. Needless to say, my attempts at removing those "decorations" was not terribly successful, so I called Zerorez. Fortunately, they had a next day opening and they arrived on the earlier end of that opening which worked well with my schedule. Jose and his assistant arrived promptly and explained what they were going to do, and then they got to work. I camped out in another room while they moved the furniture, and throughly cleaned the rugs. About 30 minutes later, they were done, and I paid via the payment link that was sent to me by text. I don't have a ton of experience with getting these rugs professionally cleaned, so I initially felt that the price kind of high, but after doing some research on rug cleaning prices, I actually think the cost ($283) was fair for what they were able to do. We must have caught the technical (John) on a bad day- He was blunt and rude from the moment he arrived. He brushed off my young kids who met him at the door and said "hello". Then he got upstairs and immediately started the wheeling and dealing, telling me all about what they WON'T do that was told to us over the phone. He refused to do the job if we were going to move furniture, even though I said I was going to move it myself. I called the manager who tried to help out. But the rudeness continued the whole time. He worked really quickly, obviously rushing the job. The kicker was when he finished. I offered my hand for a handshake and said "thank you." To which John said "we handle payment now," pointing to his hand. Unbelievable. I've worked with a lot of service technicians and sub-contractors. I have NEVER been treated so rude. From initial call through finish, everything was first-rate. Estimating was easy and professional - I received a written quote showing all charges right after setting up our appointment. Cleaning was done by one solo tech (Jonathan). He was prompt, professional, friendly. Of course he offered some additional services, and I politely declined - he was gracious and understanding of my need to stick to the initial estimate, and to my budget. Jonathan was creative in getting access to our second story location so they could use truck-mounted equipment rather than their portable setup. He worked very hard and, since we were his last job at the end of this day, he faced a long drive in huge traffic to get back to Poway from Mission Valley. Our wall-to-wall carpets look better than ever! Carpets were dry by the next day. I am sensitive to certain chemicals, and it was amazing to have carpets cleaned with NO residual odor and no negative reaction from me! We will call ZeroRez again, next time we need carpets cleaned. The company was very professional, responsive and honest. This was a move-in to a new condo for me, and they were able to set up service the very next day. |Carpet Cleaning I ccalled Zero Rex and they agreed to come up to Julian from Poway to clean my carpets. A skilled tech arrived on time last week. He did a great job. As the days passed some stains appeared on the surface. I called and asked if someone could return and help get the stains out. Today Luis and Roy showed up. It was decided that the best approach would be to use a dry compound that is brushed into the stains, followed by vacumming to remove the stubborn stains. I am hopeful that this follow up will solve the problem. Roy and Luis were very polite and did an excellent job. I give 5 stars for their work. This guy knew what he was talking about and has the experience to make the carpets look great. The rugs and carpets cleaned in October by another company and they just looked okay. Due to a new (very large) 1 year old puppy and an older dog, the carpets desperately needed to be cleaned again. They look fantastic, the urine smell is gone AND he gave a great deal to make sure all of the areas were at their best. The price was less than the last guy and the results were more than twice as nice. He has a new repeat client in my SO and will definitely keep getting her business. Today: Friday, February 9, 2024 Update to their service: Danny had reached out to me regarding my dissatisfaction with the service I had received. I gave him a call and we discussed my prior expectations and what I received. He was very attentive, genuine, and eager to rectify my problems. The same day, I was able to drop off my rug and get my issues taken care of free of charge. This past Tuesday, my husband had picked up the rug for me but it wasn't until yesterday that I was able to finally open the rolled carpet. Again, this is my favorite rug so this was extremely important to me. My first check was smelling the rug and make sure it was rid of the smell of mildew. It was! I was relieved because it used to be overwhelmingly strong but you can't smell it. My 2nd concern was the lack of how clean it looked the first time as there were still dark spots and the carpet looked dull. However, this time, the rug was noticeably brighter and I couldn't find any dark spots that stood out. I am very satisfied with how the carpet turned out! Thanks Danny! read more

I had my sectional sofa, 2 bedrooms, and stairs cleaned and paid $523 and then the prompt led me to leaving a tip. I already paid for a service and thought the tip prompt was a bit much. My carpets are still wet after 48 hours and now it smells like a wet, moldy towel. I called and they are sending someone to redo it. Sadly, the damage is probably already done. We used ZeroRes a few years ago and had great service so we decided to use them again. I noticed in the past couple of years, there has been many negative reviews. I will never use ZeroRes again. Clearly this place did not actually read my review. I've never used anything but water on my carpets. Your employee was spraying crap on my carpet which left a residue that now gives off white foam when you stream clean it.. I, personally, replaced my subfloor (upstairs only) when I moved in. I've regularly cleaned my carpets (after vacuuming them), we don't allow shoes on the carpet, there's a gate to prevent the dog from hanging out on the carpeted areas, and i have auto vacuums that run daily, so the idea that I have disgusting pads is likely untrue. Your employee didn't vacuum the carpets first but applied water to the existing dirt and pet hair on the carpets. When I first used my steam cleaner I put it in dry mode only.... so it was soaking up the water you left behind....I wasn't applying new water. The only way you could make this right is a refund as there is no way I would let you back in my home to apply more chemicals to my carpets (when you clearly are breaching the contract of no residue when you were spraying something other than water on the carpets). read more

I had Zero Rez San Diego out to clean 4 rooms, stairs, landing. Only 2 people live here. Carpet is about 6 years old, and, looked clean on the surface. We have a Hoover 7452900 Steam Carpet Cleaner that we would use a few times a year to clean carpets....did a good job, but there was always more dirt that would come out with repeat washings, so decided to try a "professional" carpet cleaner, in this case, Zero Rez. The tech was polite and efficient. Process involved just spraying a citrus solution on carpet, then applying their pH 10.5 water and then extraction. I asked the tech how he knew if most of the dirt was gone, but he said there's no way to tell (receiving dirty water containers are opaque). Carpets were pretty damp when he left. I decided to test to see if most of the dirt was pulled out (I am a scientist) right after the tech left. I thoroughly cleaned our Hoover Carpet Cleaner (it gets excellent ratings), put in Reverse Osmosis Water only (no shampoo), and did a quick steam rinse/extraction on a few small sections that had been just "professionally cleaned". The extracted water was filthy. I expected the "dirty water" to be perhaps a bit translucent, but the water was as dirty as if it hadn't been cleaned at all. I took a few videos of my re-cleaning for proof of the dirt I extracted with only water. I called the company about my concerns of me extracting so much more dirt, and Danny, the manager, texted me back. Here was his response: "Good morning Randy. The carpet in your home has many layers. The service that we performed at your home was to clean the living surface. While we do offer deeper cleans to help with soiling in the backing, padding and subfloor, they are often not necessary and we do not recommend them unless we think it would be worth it as there is a severe change in pricing. If you would like we can give you pricing on this type of service. -- Also we still guarantee our work even after the cleaning with your personal machine, so if you would like anything retouched we would be happy to help! If you would like to talk with me I'll be in the office today until 4pm, just call 858-486-4100 and I'll try my best to help. Thank you -- Danny" So, Danny did try to make it right. I just decided to write it off and consider it a lesson learned...that since I already have a carpet steamer/shampooer, I will just do it myself for a total price of maybe $5 for shampoo (if I want to use Shampoo). It takes me about 2 hours to clean the carpets, and the carpets look just as great, dry faster (our machine seems to extract more water than Zero Rez, so carpets dry fast, and they seem to smell fresher). There was really no disclosure that I read that indicated anything about just "cleaning the living surface". I suspect this level of cleaning is standard for all the carpet cleaning businesses, not just Zero Rez. So, IF you have your own steam carpet cleaner (or rent one), and if you have the energy, time, and ability, just clean your own carpets. Yes, it's not overly fun, but will save you lots of money. Again, Zero Rez would have come out to re-do the carpets, but I didn't want to hassle with it again. read more

I was given a 4-hour window for arrival and the 2-man crew showed up 15 minutes early, I wasn't quite ready for them. I quickly moved light furniture and vacuumed while they set up. They did try to upsell me extra services and pad the bill. The pricing is similar to Stanley Steemer, at first it seemed they would be cheaper but they add on for things like $24 service fee for showing up, $30 for having to go upstairs...I agreed to a protection coating which was twice as much as it should have been $57 with 20% discount. But I have a cat that barfs often so I'm hoping those clean up jobs will go more easily. Still, they did quick work and the carpet looked beautiful when they were done. One bonus: they did not tap into the building's water, they brought their own. But it's the day after now and I'm still dealing with fans on the carpet because the carpet is still markedly damp in places. Granted, it is a cool, gray weekend so that is a contributing factor. But I thought their method would dry more readily than steaming. In my experience, it doesn't, so if it's not a hot sunny day be prepared. I may use them again, but I'm not as impressed as I'd hoped I would be. read more

Do not contact this company! They are very unreliable and not trustworthy. We had scheduled them to come and clean our carpets today. They showed up 4 hours late and every time we called their office, the receptionist said they will be there soon! After they finally showed up, they told us that the best treatment for our carpets was going to cost over $2000, while our agreement was for $450. We told them that we're okay with their basic cleaning method and asked them to start the process. They refused and left our house without cleaning the carpet!! Very frustrating! My mom called to have our two couches and rug done. They showed up yesterday (way before our appointment time - we weren't ready for them) and our couches still look awful. There were spots that were missed completely, and they felt like they had a film on them. For being "chemical free" my house smelled terrible through the entire day and into the night. Over $400 wasted. *Update: My mom called to try and get a partial refund, they said no. They said they would only come out and redo it, which would be fine except we have a house full of people and pets (which is why we needed the service) but the couches were so wet that we couldn't use them until the next day, even though they were done in the morning. I don't typically write reviews or take other action but too many strikes your out Zerorez. Sadly is an extreme disconnect between the office and the technicians. What was requested ahead of time was was not fulfilled as the technicians "didn't get the message". This is not the first time but the SECOND time it has occurred in less than a year. The external factors to my apartment have actually NOT changed in over a year, yet it varied technician to technician each time. Additionally and ironically, I got another carpet cleaning company and they are full-filling my EXACT same request as I type this review. This new company is doing something that was "not possible" with Zerorez today and for cheaper. (Trust me not rocket science ---just normal problem solving skills: an extension tube and proper placement of a van - wow!) But lastly to touch on professionalism the technician had his pants unzipped (PSA*** to zip your fly guys and not have a woman see too much on a job; other places of work that would be sexual harassment but at minimum this was unprofessional). Also he changed/altered the reason of why they could not perform carpet cleaning on my carpet: first it was no tubing in his van, then it was the external outside factors, then it was something else. Word of advice, say one reason be confident and stick to it, don't change and make 5 different reasons. But I find it comical now that another company is doing what I requested with all the complications the Zerorez could not overcome. But I know a lot others who use this company and will be diligent in requesting they take their business elsewhere now. The power of bad reviews and word of mouth is rough. read more

The no soap/harsh chemical cleaning process and sanitizing temperature water they use did a fantastic job! Our window was from 12:00-4:00 and we were notified in advance that he would be arriving at around 12:15. The carpet cleaner (John) was happy to answer all our questions. We initially selected the hallway and living room cleaning service and chose to add on the pet urine stain treatment. We felt no pressure or scamming of any sorts. Guy told us that they can't guarantee a "good" job unless we added "pre-treatment" to all the areas they were to clean AND add a "stain sealer" or it'd be dirty in a week. Guess what!? I called Zerorez after buying my house. I wanted to have my carpets thoroughly cleaned before moving in. Additionally, I wanted the cleaning to be oder free and pet friendly. Zerorez was easy to work with. They explained the process and cost up front. The technician was on time, was very careful to prevent any damage in the house, and when he wasn't sure he could get all the discoloration out, he made sure to discuss it with me. Since the discoloration was normal wear and tear I wasn't concerned. He recommended a protective coating since I'm not going to replace the carpets and I have pets. Zero Rez? More like nothing but residue. My carpet was soaking wet and we kept off of it for 48 hours literally sleeping in the living room. When dried, carpet was crunchy, matted and it has gotten dirtier than how it was before we got it cleaned within weeks. I can't stand looking at it anymore and I can't figure out if I should even allow them back in my house to "CORRECT" their problem. I don't want soggy carpets and camping in the living room for 2 more days. Their customer service wanted to teach me how carpets work and how traffic patterns are created when we walk on it. Puddles left on my hardwood floor post carpet-cleaning, marginal improvement in high traffic area, no cleaning done beyond edges of under bed area, double cost that was expected, and worst of all, the STENCH. In preparation for the sale of my home, I decided to get a "real" carpet-cleaning business to deep-clean my carpets. I have my own Bissell cleaner, which I have used with satisfaction, but I wanted to do things right. Mike Slater endorses this business and I felt confident that I would be pleased with their service. My home has three bedrooms and a living room that are carpeted. I was pleased to learn there was a special going on where I would get one room cleaned free with the purchase of three rooms. The base cost quoted was $149. The sales person I spoke to on the phone clarified that the living room actually would count as two rooms. She also explained that any stains or rooms where pets had been would cost extra. My son's dog slept in his bedroom so I opted to have a special treatment put in that room. The additional cost for ONE room was $80. I had expected to pay $150, the final cost was $300. And, actually, I would've been OK with that if it hadn't been for the SMELL. Yes, the SMELL. I noticed it immediately. My entire house reeked of dog. Even in the master bedroom, where the dog never set foot, smelled like a kennel. I decided to wait a couple days, hoping the smell would dissipate. It took over 24 hours for the carpet to dry, but when it did, the smell persisted. Friends that came to help me pack for the move commented on the stench. I called zerorez on day four. I explained the situation. After some checking with management I was told they could come back and re-clean the carpet in my living room for $80. This was not an acceptable solution for me and I let the sales person know. I decided to deal with the problem of dog stink on my own. I bought a carpet solution and used my Bissell carpet cleaner throughout the house. I had to use it in the living room twice. When I sit on the floor, the carpet in the living room still smells faintly of dog. Finally, my vacuum, which I used before shampooing the carpet myself, now stinks like dog. And frankly, it doesn't even stink like our dog. As a sidenote, my carpet is only three years old. It did have some minor traffic paths. This was the initial reason I decided to call zerorez. The improvement of heavy traffic areas was marginal at best. So, I'm giving Zerorez a big 2 Thumbs Down. And, I shared my story with friends and a substantially large extended family. read more
