My daughter and I were very excited about the massage as our Mama-Daughter getaway weekend. We had the massage in the same room, and both masseuse gave us the worst massage we ever had. They basically just rob our upper back for a long time and ignore our requests on specific areas that we would like them to focus on. They also massage against the muscle, not along them, which was not helpful in releasing muscle tension. They actually cut 5 minutes short of our session which was $10 each I paid and not service. I do not believe they are properly trained masseuses, and the owner(s) should do a better job on screening her employees. I would never get a massage there ever again and I would not recommend it to anyone. The decorations and choice of music didn't have the tranquil quality of a SPA we are used to. The receptionist was very pleasant and she did a great job explaining the float since it was our first time. The float experience was okay for me, but the solution was very irritating for my daughter. We tried it, but it would not be part of our self-care/relaxation choice. It was also weird to have the hair drying area share with the open space where people supposed to be relaxing after the sessions. We just left after we paid, because the whole experience was such a letdown. read more

Went here with the hubby as he wanted me to try a float and to have a couples massage. Went on a Sunday afternoon. It is on a quiet street and we parked right in front. The receptionist showed us to our float rooms and she explained to me about the items in the shower area, the shower and a little about the float room. Definitely watch their YouTube videos before you go as they are very helpful and informative. I thought the whole float experience was interesting and I stayed in the float room about 40 mins - it just got so hot in there even with the door opened a crack to get air in there that I had to get out. While I tried it out, floating is not really for me. The swedish massage was very nice - my therapist was I believe Trey - couldn't remember his name sadly - but he was very good - I was so relaxed afterward I felt like jello. All in all I liked the location, I liked the calmness of the place and I enjoyed my message so I will definitely be back again. read more

An oasis in Kingston. With everything crazy going on in the world, I have started looking for new ways to take care of myself and destress. A friend recommended I try the float thing. Frankly, right now, I'm up for anything. The website was easy to figure out, and I easily made an appointment online. When I arrived, there was easy to find street parking and when I opened the door, the ahhhh already began. The space is inviting and colorful and zen like. There are two rooms to choose from, I was put in the stone room. It was very clean and loaded with amenities. The rain shower was aces. Melissa was super helpful. She showed me around, and explained the whole thing with great detail. I felt very prepared. The float experience was unlike anything I could have dreamed up. I had many moments of pure nothingness, and it was so blissful. An hour unplugged from everything, relaxing in a tub of epsom salt. I thought I was going to freak out in the dark but it was quite the opposite. I relished the calm expanse of black and my inner mermaid was gleeful in the salt water. Immediately got myself a package of floats, I will definitely be back again soon. What an amazing way to kick migraines, stress, pain and anxiety. One float and I'm already hooked. read more

Very relaxing, professional, clean and beautifully designed space. Was my first time in an isolation tank. They walk you through the experience before so you know what to expect. This is not a pod-style tank which some people get claustrophobic about. This is a cabin style floatation tank and attaches to the private shower room you are assigned. They have 2 shower rooms/float tanks so you can book an appointment with a significant other or friend and both get treatments at same time/different rooms. One room is slate stone and the other is 'wood' tile. Parking was a little confusing - the lot behind Zephyr was full so I parked in the residential parking one street over. Not the best neighborhood but that's Kingston. No judgment - I love Kingston and think it's massively underrated but they might give some more detail on where is best to park if lot behind is filled. There is also a cool store next door to Zephyr that sells furniture, lighting and art all made from recycled wood pallets. read more

The place is amazing! The inside has a very nice feel inside. I spoke with Ryan, the owner, who is a great guy. I've done 2 floats so far and they just keep getting better. You can tell just from walking inside that they put a lot of work into it. Ryan said it took over a year for them to get everything started. The rooms are very sleek and clean. The layout is very simple, yet elegant at the same time. The showers are very cool with the shower connected to the ceiling. Once you enter the tank room, there's this completely natural and organic feel to it. They use organic shampoos and bodywashes. The shower is connected right next to the door so that you have a effortless transition from the shower to the tank and vice versa. The benefits of floating have been amazing with only 2 floats in. I can tune into every sore muscle, joint and tendon in my body the. The physical stress relief is great and the sensory deprivation really allows you to target what parts of your body are aching. After leaving the tank, I'm just at a loss for words. I can't even describe the feeling. You just have to experience it to understand. My head feels clear, relaxed, and centered. Once you allow to fully let yourself go in the tank, everything becomes so much clearer. You can focus on things in your life that are in trouble, focus on future goals. This is literally the ultimate form of meditation. I would recommend every single person try this at least once. It's just such a unique experience. Don't worry about claustrophobia because the tanks are HUGE. I believe Ryan said they are about 8 feet tall so you can stand directly up inside one. I had plenty of room when laying in the water to be able to fully stretch out my arms and legs. I also did some full body stretches inside the tank to really hone into my painful joints and muscles. It felt amazing to feel parts of my aching body that I hadn't felt in years. The only thing to note is any quick movements will allow you to move around the tank very easily. This could interfere with the meditation process, but I'm sure with more practice and floats, that most people won't even notice. A trick I learned was to hold my arms out to a T so they were touching the walls of the tank and hold my body in the center of the tank with my arms as support. Once the water had stopped moving, I very slowly moved my arms to the sides of my body and was perfectly still. Very simple and quick fix for that. I have nothing but great things to say about Zephyr Float. The presentation, the interior design of the building, the tank rooms, and Ryan was very pleasant and considerate. If you live in the Kingston area and haven't gone yet, you're missing out on an extraordinary experience. Everyone should be doing this. You will not regret it! read more

I received a gift certificate for 3 floats at this establishment... I had never floated before and I must say I LOVE it! I bought the three float special for my daughter as well and she was sad just like I was upon using her final float. The atmosphere is totally chilled out and all zen. After floating I came out of there 100% refreshed and my souls was centered and still every time. I am now trying to fit a membership into my budget. I was gifted a certificate for first time floaters! This was a great experience. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the float tanks are clean, and have a great set up. Floating was an awesome experience, and something worth trying. If you've ever wanted to try it, I suggest going here! Also, I suggest just trying something new. The pre float/post float areas with the showers are beautiful and well laid out. They also offer massages. After your float you can time your time to relax, drink some tea, and reapply your makeup. I would certainly go here for a float, but I'd be very skeptical about signing on for a massage again. My wife took me here for my 64th birthday and I was really looking forward to it. I've been wanting to try a sensory deprivation tank for a long time and it sounded like a very soothing way to celebrate my birthday. I did very much enjoy the float, it was clean soothing and very relaxing. My wife and I had simultaneous massages afterward, which I love. Lisa had a fabulous massage with a woman named Toni. I had a dismal massage, I wouldn't even call it a massage, it was more like some hapless rubbing. I believe the woman's name was Bridgit. She was even a little irritable which was a real bummer after having a nice meditative float. I'm looking to float again, and as I look for other reviews I'm surprised to see Zephyr gets a five star rating. I would imagine these places screen for masseuses, but it's hard for me to believe that Bridgit had any training, much less any recommendations. I recall we paid good money for the massage and it was galling to me that Lisa insisted that I had to tip her on top of it. I'll could never go there again after being burned like that. read more

Went there to relax. The decor and atmosphere makes you very relaxed. When you walk in, there's a nice aroma that starts to help you with de-stressing. The showers are very clean and comfortable. My husband finished a package of 3 and now on his second. They have self serve tea and hot chocolate after you finish the float. I've been to Zephyr 3 or 4 times now and each time has been a wonderful experience. The place is decorated so beautifully and it is cozy and peaceful. I'm always impressed by how clean it is too. The float experience was amazing and I was able to relax without any distractions and get into a deep meditative state. The waiting area has colored pencils and sketchbooks so it was nice to have a refreshing kombucha and draw a little after the float. The owner and staff are all super nice and helpful. My partner and I have went to zephyr twice as a date day together and will definitely be going back again! read more

This was my fourth time floating and my second time at Zephyr Float. They have the best facilities I have seen. The float room is dark and sealed by a heavy door so that no sounds can penetrate it. Even the entry door seems heavy and adds to the security and the quiet of the space. The shower (used before you float and after) is lovely and has two shower heads, one to rain down on you and a shower wand on a hose to get everywhere else. The host was very pleasant and helpful and gave a great introduction to the space. There were a wonderful variety of teas and cool water not to mention other creative distractions to allow you to relax and experience a sense of real palpable ease. The floats are usually an hour but give yourself extra time before and after to ease in and out of the most relaxing experience. read more
