As you enter, you're greeted by the reception, who is not very welcoming. I felt as though I was inconveniencing her. She had no social skills, did not smile, welcomed or thanked the customers as they were entering or leaving. Not a great first impression. As entered the treatment room, the masseuse gave me a rundown of what to expect. The massage bed was so cold. I've never been in one that was regulated that way. It made it so difficult to relax.I had specific areas I wanted her to focus on but felt those areas were skimmed through. Other than that, the massage was good. I really have a hard time comprehending why they have so many good reviews. I did a couple massage and it was below average, my wife thought so too. We have had better $40 massage in California than the $270 we spent here. Their music choice was also terrible which should have been my first red flag. I told my therapist if she could focus on my lower back and feet, for some reason she skipped my low back entirely. She did do an ok job for the feet though. At certain points in the session I was actually hurting which did not feel pleasant. I guess the other five stars really find pleasure in pain. We are visiting West Maui and in the past we have gone to the spa located in the resort where we're staying. This year decided to check out a local spa. I'm glad I did. Don't let the small strip mall on the lower road turn you away, once I stepped in I felt like I had been transported to Bali. I was greeted by Kristen who made me feel so welcomed. I booked a massage for me and a facial for my husband the day before our service. I received a text message with a friendly reminder and we showed up a few minutes early for our appointment. My massage was booked with Anne, I was her last appointment for the day. I have to say I think she saved the best for last it was one the most unique and wonderful massages I have ever had. She started me face up and was able to slide her hands under my back, and it was like she was playing the piano. Every finger was hitting a note of relaxation. I think the weight of my body against her strong hands and fingers abled her to get put the right amount of pressure on some of those trigger points. And when I turned over face down, she really worked the arms and legs and upper shoulders. It wasn't deep tissue, but it wasn't passive lomi lomi, it was just the best Maui massage ever! read more

Honestly, it was not great. I really don't like a massage that starts off with the massage therapist having me lie on my back and her taking deep breaths and blowing out right in my face. So there's that. Secondly, she needed to trim a couple of her fingernails that kept digging into my skin and hurting. Thirdly, I requested the reflexology on my feet and it was so light it was like not even happening. Much of the massage was like that. Like I can run my fingers lightly over my own body. It was more like 80 mins due to us getting there, waiting to be seen and undressing. It was a wonderful massage, no complaints, but also not any better than I have had elsewhere for cheaper. First of all, I called Zensations Spa to book a massage for a Sat. but they had no openings so I decided to do a facial. Boy! Was I glad!!! I had Sabrina as my esthetician...the best facial I've ever had (even in high-end Hotels spas). She recommended the Ultimate Oxygen Facial and for the next 90 minutes I was in Heaven. Sabrina is so knowledgeable and she loves what she is does and that comes trough in the way she takes care of you. Eric had a nice calm presence and did exactly what I requested in terms of how much pressure to use and which body areas to focus on and which to avoid. Wow wow wow, I took my love for a couples massage. We both had the double bliss treatment, and I have to say this is a very well run spa. We showed up a few mins early to check in. We were greeted with a smile and offered water. They explained out massage therapist's would be with us shortly. They let us know to get undressed and they would knock before they came back in. We were to be face down under the covers before they come back. We had a great massage and facial at Zensations today. We were greeted by name with a warm welcome and offered water as we waited for our appointment. The decor, music, and overall ambiance was luxurious and beautiful. My masseuse, Gia, asked if I had any areas she wanted me to focus on and whether I preferred a relaxation or deep tissue massage. Throughout the massage she would ask how I was feeling with what she was doing and then she would spend a little extra time in areas where I had knots. The facial specialist, Krista, was equally attentive and would explain throughout the facial what she was doing since I was curious as this was my first facial. Highly recommend it. They had an excellent deal on a 60 minute couple's massage for $189. We checked into the spa with the receptionist who was very accommodating. Next, we met our massage therapists who were both very friendly. When we entered the massage room, it was dimly lit with bubbling water and zen music. The massages were perfect and we felt so relaxed! If we were to do it again, we probably would have done the 90 minute massage because 1 hour was a little short. Overall we had a excellent massage experience and were happy that it didn't break the bank. I will also add, the spa is in a shopping center but don't be thrown off, it's all Zen when you go inside. read more
