I had a really great experience with Zen Windows! Jennifer was so friendly and easy to work with from the very beginning. I really appreciated how open and honest she was throughout the entire process. There was never any pressure, which made the whole experience so much easier. The pricing was very competitive, and I was honestly surprised by how quickly everything came together. The installation team was great as well. Since my home has lead paint, I really appreciated the precautions they took during the installation to make sure everything was handled properly and safely. They also did a great job cleaning up afterward, which made a big difference. Overall, the whole process was smooth from start to finish, and I'm very happy with my new windows. I would definitely recommend Zen Windows to anyone looking for a company that is honest, professional, and genuinely cares about doing a great job! read more

After interviewing 3 different window replacement companies, we were most impressed with Ty's presentation from Zen Windows. He was up front with pricing and the quality of his product. The construction of Zen windows had a superior quality than the other windows we interviewed. Installation by Marcos and his crew was efficient and professional. Window installation was quick, while making a difficult job look easy. While selecting for a window company can be daunting, we searched through the internet for window ratings and found Provia Endure Windows to be highly rated. Lifetime warranty for the windows and installation also were deciding factors for us. Curb appeal, value, comfort plus improving energy-efficiency and security added value to our house. 38 windows replaced by Zen Windows. read more

I'm a first-time homebuyer and purchased my house in March 2021. While the house was in great condition and had recently been renovated, it still had the original wooden windows that were installed when the house was built in the 1950's. While I appreciated their history, classic look and the fact that they were still in good shape, it was clear they needed to be updated. I contacted several window companies around town, both local and national establishments. After being put off by some of the high pressure, in person sales tactics other places had, I found the approach that Brian and his team at Zen Windows very refreshing. I also saw that they were voted Best in Charlotte by Charlotte Magazine in 2020, and I wanted to support a local business if I could. Brian was very generous with his time, and it only took a few phone calls with him and a quick visit from his installer to get measurements for them to have all the information they needed. I was impressed with how simple and straightforward the process was. Another huge selling point was that I wouldn't have to pay anything until the job was complete, a big difference from other companies. The turnaround took about three months for the windows to be built, but I would chalk that up to COVID, supply chain issues and increased demand for home projects because of the pandemic rather than anything on Zen's end. Quoted turnaround times at other businesses were similar. Once the windows were ready, Zen sent a simple three man crew to my home to perform the installation. Each gentleman on the crew probably had 30-40 years of window installation themselves, so as a team they were pretty capable. In just two quick morning sessions, my windows were complete! I'm extremely happy with the end result. The windows are fantastic, incredibly easy to use, they look great (black exterior FTW), and I can already tell they perform much better than the old ones. Brian and his team did an outstanding job, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their windows! read more

We chose Zen after a glowing recommendation from friends and the numerous 5-star reviews. The entire process was seamless; from the minute I sent an email, everyone at Zen was incredibly responsive, attuned to what we needed (with no gross sales pressure), and did what they said they would do. Installation of 11 replacement windows took a day and a half, and when we noticed a few places that needed paint touch ups and a set of blinds that weren't closing, they came out two days later to fix everything to our liking. They even mailed us a thank you note! read more

We purchased an older ranch home with original windows that we knew we immediately wanted replaced. Brian walked us through all of our options and even brought a few choices by so that I could see them in person. Once we accepted our quote, the measurement and install process was a breeze! We had 15 windows with lead paint on them replaced and the team was efficient, polite and cleaned up after themselves so we didn't have to worry about any lead paint harming us or our dog. When they first came to install, there was a slight mismeasurement on the front two windows and, true to their word, we didn't owe a dime until the entire project was complete. We are so happy we went with zen windows and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their windows! I wish I had taken better before and after shots! read more

From the beginning of the process to the end simply the best . We couldn't be happier !! We highly recommend Zen windows.

These people ARE the choice to make. Sure they're higher than the sticker you saw at the home improvement store, but does that lower price include the installation WITH a lifetime warranty on parts AND labor? Does it include how to make your new door or window look perfect in the old footprint that your old door or window left from 20+ years ago? Does it include installers that are actually not scary to have in your home, don't talk down to you, have manners, and be friendly during the installation? Probably not! I've had some experience with home improvements and I can tell you that the install guys from Zen Windows are what you're hoping to get, bottom line. They arrive on time, they come in nice clean vehicles, they're careful to park in the correct spaces, they don't track mud in your house, they speak clearly and TO you... not AT you, they're knowledgeable about their craft and they clean up when they're finished. BOOM BAM! New install finished and you're happy, with a lifetime warranty as the cherry on top :-) read more

Never did this before, so I was a little wary about the process ( not to mention the potential mess) around having all our windows replaced. Zen Windows made it as stress free, quick, and painless as is possible with such a big project. If anything we over-prepared moving stuff out of the way inside the house. Turns out they needed very little inside access to do their job, mostly working outside. The installation crew was courteous, answering any questions I had during the process. They were also professional, quick, and neat. Cleaned up even the slightest dust they created. All in all they replaced 20 windows in a day and a half. The end product looks and performs fantastic! I definitely will recommend them to anyone looking to have new vinyl windows installed. read more

Zen just finished the install of the windows in my home. 32 windows in a little over one day. Marco and his crew were excellent. Quick, efficient and as neat as anyone could expect for the job they did. The ordering process was very easy, no hard pressure sales pitch and the price quoted was reasonable. Zen's pricing includes the replacement of any rotted or damaged outside trim at no cost. They replaced 6 sills and one piece of brick mold at my house with no additional charge and no delays. The windows are good quality, the best we looked at and we got 4 estimates before deciding on Zen. read more

We researched like maniacs!! There are so many replacement window options and even more companies to choose from! It can be extremely overwhelming and we quickly experienced information over load. In order to come to an informed decision, we narrowed it down to two factors. 1) choose a quality, trusted manufacturer with one hell of a warranty and then, 2) find a company with a stellar reputation backed up by actual clients. This equation was sure to be a win! Overwhelmingly this is what we came up with... Soft-Lite brand+Zen Windows = Satisfaction Guaranteed. We are so happy with our windows. Quality, cost, install and follow up has been beyond our expectations. We highly recommend you do your own research... just don't be surprised when you end up at Zen! read more

We thought long and hard about replacing our 25 year old windows and after reading all the positive reviews for Zen windows we selected them. We can't be happier with the company, the windows and the installation team. We had 11 windows replaced and hoping to have the remaining large arched windows replaced by Zen within the next few years. Previously we've had buyers remorse, but this time we're completely satisfied. Give them a chance to impress you....you won't be sorry. read more

Zen Windows was recommended by my General Contractor, Rodney Wineteer, and I was not disappointed. Everything went well. They could not have been more responsive to any requests. They kept me informed. The installation went smoothly and was timely. They left the site clean. There was one slight problem with how a screen fit and it was addressed quickly and corrected. No complaints. Excellent sales and service staff. read more

We had all of our windows replaced and two doors replaced about 2 yrs ago. During our search we called on a few window Replacement companies for estimates. What stood out was they didn't go through a huge sales pitch. Instead, they give you all the pertinent information and the owner comes by and measures and is happy to answer any questions that you might have. This is wayyy better in my opinion. We ended up going with zen as the communication was excellent, the owner is very nice and the price was less than the other quote we got for a very similar product. It has now been two years and our windows and door are still great. Recently, a part of the trim they installed on the door was coming up and they sent their installation guy and he fixed it within 10 minutes. Really wonderful customer service! read more

It was time to replace the nearly 50 year old single pane windows on my home. Because it is a sizeable investment I did a ton of research and scheduled appointments with 6 of the local A listed Angies list window companies. The first company I met with was Universal Windows Direct. They came out to my home and spent 2.5 hours going over their product. Although the salesman was a nice guy the sales presentation was literally painful. I told him he was the first company we had spoken to so I wasn't prepared to sign a contract tonight even after he reduced the price. When he left I told my wife there is no way I can do this 5 more times. Zen windows was one of the companies with great reviews on Angies list that I reached out to for a quote. Brian Zimmerman the Owner of the local Zen Window franchise reached out to me and told me to send him a picture of my house and he would be able to give me a quote based on the picture. That's what I did and in no time I received an email with a quote for their most popular window grade along with information on all three grades of windows they offer. Zen quoted me a price for their double paned window and it was 100% comparable to the window being offered by Universal Windows Direct but for less money. I then requested a quote for the top of the line triple pane window and received that quote within a half hour. Even the triple pane window was cheaper than the double pane windows being offered by Universal Windows Direct. Instead of sitting through a long sales pitch I was sent all the information I needed to learn about their windows and their company. There are numerous videos on You Tube that give detailed breakdowns of their window features. The videos contain the same information that was given to me by the salesman that held me hostage in my home for 2.5 hours. In fact I like the videos more because I can watch them as many times as I want and rewind and watch certain parts again to get a better understanding of features. That being said, if I had questions about window features I would email Brian and my questions would be answered within a half hour. The process was 100% pain free, extremely easy, hassle free and there was ZERO high pressure sales tactics AND you don't pay a dime until the job is completed and you are satisfied. The windows Zen installs are built by Soft-Lite. I researched Soft-Lite and discovered they are an extremely respected manufacturer in the window industry and are often among the very small list of window manufacturers that are recommended by contractors and in write ups online- they are very well made, quality windows. I chose to go with the Lotus window. It is their top of the line triple paned window. This is a BETTER window than I was being offered by Universal Windows Direct for about $2500 less. Funny thing- A week after I signed the contract with Zen I received a call from a salesman from Universal Windows Direct telling me that they had come into some "special rebate money" by their manufacturer and they could now offer me the windows at a lower price. I told them the best price should have been given to me the night they were at my house for 2.5 hours and I already signed a contract for a better window at a lower price. I literally had to block their number on my phone because I was getting so many calls. Zen just doesn't play these ridiculous games. Once I signed the contract a representative from Zen came out to my home to take the precise measurements. It then took about 3 weeks for my windows to come in. The installation was scheduled and the crew arrived on time and took great care with my home. They took their shoes off as they walked through the house and they vacuumed before they left each room so that no debris were left behind. It took them one day to install 20 windows and another day to install the coil wrapping and finish work on the outside. The final product looks great. Out of 20 windows the only small issue I could find were some scratches on the coil wrapping for one window. Some touch up paint should take care of that. The job looks fantastic. What I learned from this process is that other companies will quote you extremely ridiculous high prices hoping you will take the bait without doing your homework. When you say no they will start calling you every other day and lowering their prices. Its really annoying. Zen doesn't do any of this. Bottom Line why I chose Zen: They install highly respected quality Soft-Lite windows, you don't pay a dime until after the job is finished and you are happy, excellent 'A' reviews online and on Angies List, Awesome lifetime warranty that even covers broken glass, No high pressure sales tactics or games, No hours long sales pitches in your home and excellent extremely fair prices without the games. If you are in the market for new windows- Zen should be at the top of your list. A+ company!!! read more

I spoke to 3 different companies other than Zen. Not only were their prices higher than I thought they should be, I didn't trust them. None offered me an itemized quote that I could review. Zen was the exact opposite! The process wasn't like that of dealing with a used car salesman Brian did an excellent job of explaining my options and provide me with an itemized quote. He didn't attempt to rush me into making a decision, by calling, lowering the price etc. Their website offers more than enough information for you to make an informed decision. Bottom line, I highly recommend Zen Window for the following reasons: price, transparency and trust! read more

When it came to replacing our windows, we did our homework. We talked to five of the most reputable names in the Charlotte area. While I would recommend anybody else looking for windows to do the same, I can save you a little bit of time: go with Zen. From start to finish, Zen lived up to its reputation among Charlotte-area window replacement businesses; the online quote process was incredibly easy to do (not to mention priced accurately), and the crew left the house as clean as when they started. Like I said, start to finish. What I liked in particular about the process was working directly with Brian, the owner, during the quote and scoping process. You weren't talking to a rep. who ran circles around getting a definitive price. The price he gave was the price it was going to be - no haggling required (compare this to other "factory-direct" pricing that was Price A, but you got it for Price B, though if you acted now, you could get windows for Price C). The installation process also reinforced our decision to go with Zen. We first worked with Scott, who came out and double-checked our measurements (he also had some great suggestions about our blinds that saved us an additional couple of grand from not needing to replace them), and assured us that if we had any problems with the install we could go directly to him. Of course, we never needed to, as the install crew arrived on time every morning, worked hard to get a 32-window job knocked out in two days, and left the premises clean and tidy. They were a great, courteous crew, and I appreciate hearing the team leader say that of all the window companies he's worked with in the past, Brian and Zen were hands-down the best partner. In addition to looking so much better than our old wood windows (only a few of which actually opened and stayed open), we can already tell a major difference in the house with the new windows installed. They've helped tremendously on cutting down the draftiness of the old, leaky windows, allowing us to actually keep the thermostat at a lower temperature, in addition to the heat not having to cycle as frequently to maintain. Really looking forward to seeing the first heating bill after install to see just how much we're going to be saving. So, again - do your homework, but I'm sure you'll come to a similar conclusion that when factoring in price, installation, and overall customer service, you can't beat Zen. Cliff notes version: * PRICE: Zen was neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive. Its price point was very similar to two other companies with whom we talked. * FINANCE: Zen offers some financing options, but we ended up finding outside financing with better terms. However, this allowed us to take advantage of Zen's cash price, which offset the interest to our loan. Highly recommend this strategy! * WARRANTY: Straightforward, and comprehensive. It offered the best coverage of all the companies we checked out. It covers accidental breakage, which not all companies do! * WINDOWS: Honestly, after the third sales rep, all the windows started looking the same. Compare ratings, but we can say Zen's windows have worked extremely well in the cold. * INSTALL: AMAZING crew. Courteous & tidy. A non-intrusive and quality install, with quick turnaround. read more

Zen Windows replaced my windows and sliding door throughout my condo. This was, by far, the best experience I have ever had working with a company on home repair/remodeling/etc. Brian & his team made the process stress free and there were absolutely no surprises. The overall experience was very good. They were quick to respond whether it was request for quotes, setting up appts, calls to clarify things etc..The install team was very quick and efficient and clean too. They finished the job of installing 9 windows in under 4 hours. I have been getting compliments from my neighbors about the windows. The only down was the time it took for the windows to arrive. It took roughly 16 weeks after the contract was signed. But we were told to expect this at the very beginning itself. Overall, we are pleased with Zen. read more

Entire process was fantastic! We loved working with Ty and Scott, unfortunately the way they do business is the measure AFTER they have you sign a contract and get pre-approved for financing. We spent almost a month working with this team and were SO excited and selected them because of Ty, but after we committed to everything, including signed contract and having our credit run and approved, the owner came back a week later and said they can't actually deliver the contract we signed because our door isn't standard. A good business provider will cross check everything prior to going to contract and impacting a families credit line. Hopefully, they will adjust how they do business in the future and now we are starting over trying to find someone else after spending a month with them. The final call with the owner was, 'we can just part as friends.' No. We are not 'friends.' Very frustrating process. read more

Brian Zimmerman won my business after I researched and interviewed several of his competitors. When I started the daunting process of reading about window replacement I quickly began dreading the process. With all the positive reviews I read from my neighborhood newsletter and Brian's approach of no gimmicks and no pressure he became the standout choice. His crew replaced 13 windows in half a day. Already there is a noticeable difference in the room temperatures throughout the house. Next year I will call Brian again to replace the rest of the windows. read more

I saw Zen Windows advertised on our next door neighbor so I thought I would give them a call. I talked to one gentleman and told him what we had and they came out to measure. WE had a garden window and I did not want to replace that with another one so they gave me some options and I chose the casement window. I love it. We had to wait an extra month because of covid but it was worth it. I couldn't believe they did it all in one day. I know the garden window was hard but they did it. The next day we could already tell the house was warmer and I had set it at a lower temperature. They are easier to put up and down than the older ones and easier to clean. Absolutely no hassle, no high, or even low pressure, just a great experience all around. I got a quote, all done on line in just a few minutes, for some defective windows on my home. I'd heard about Zen Windows from friends in other cities who raved about them and thought it was worth checking them out here. Wow, I got absolutely no high pressure and a very reasonable quotation, he explained all the options and their pros and cons, not like some others I contacted. Previously I've had to struggle through high pressure salesmen and had a lot of my time taken up for other people who insisted on coming to my home, even though I explained I'm not ready to buy. I just wanted to research what's available and get some pricing so I'll be able to decide on who and what to use when I am ready. Zen was happy to answer all my questions and quote the project, he even offered some suggestions for some great things I wasn't aware of. There is no question in my mind, Zen is my choice for the right product and the right price, from good people when I'm ready to buy. read more

Like most people, buying replacement windows is not something I had any experience with. After some research, I reached out to out three companies in Charlotte for estimates. Zen Windows happened to be the best price, but what drove my decision was Brian's no-pressure style, the quality of the product, excellent warranty on both product and install. I had quite a few questions about my HOA guidelines/matching of style and color and being able to still use my existing blinds and not void the warranty. I learned Zen Windows are made by SoftLight and upon researching them, I felt even better about my decision. You will receive great service from Brian and his team and they deliver on every level. Clear communication throughout the process, accommodating scheduling, installers were very respectful of my home and cleaned up everything. I am extremely happy with the results.
