DO NOT use these folks in a property closing! The owner told me he didn't care about what his reviews looked like; so, here goes:
The previous owner of my condo hired these folks to replace glass during our closing process. The experience was extremely negative. It took several weeks for them to get in to replace the glass and my screen door was cut during the process. The guy doing the work was nice, but he told me would 'come back on his own time' to fix the door. Eventually, he said, "I'll just take it to the shop to fix." This interaction was odd to say the least. The guys clean up and leave, telling me they will bring the door back by soon.
Keep in mind, I'm not living this in this location yet as we also had a painter in the condo scraping ceilings and painting throughout. The painter had put paper down throughout to protect the floors--he had also taped every tear in the paper that had occurred. The night after the glass was put in, my partner and I went back over to the place. My partner noticed a 12" cut in our floor right in front of the window.
The next morning, I called to speak with the company about the cut and see if someone would come out and speak with my in person and see the damage. The owner basically told me I was lying. "There was no way her men could've cut the floor; they would have told her if they did since they told her about the screen door". She insinuated that waiting 'over 48 hours' was a long time to report damage. Keep in mind, the paper was on the floor. It wasn't immediately obvious that the paper was cut because it was a clean cut and we were NOT living there.
Now, I have no concrete proof that these men cut my floor. I do know that they cut my screen door. They told me there was no way for them to cut anything, but they did cut the door--so that logic is flawed.
She did not follow up with me about the damage once I sent her a photo of the floor. I called multiple times. Things eventually got ugly, on my part as well as hers. She did finally put me in touch with her husband/the owner. That conversation did not go any better. He said that 'he would not pay for my floors' (I wasn't asking him to) and that 'he didn't see how that could've happened'. He wouldn't offer to come to the property to see the damage either. This was BY FAR the worst customer service experience I've ever had. The owner honestly went out of his way to talk around the incident. He made excuses for his wife's erratic behavior and 'hot head'. Apparently they get "a lot of folks trying to accuse them".
In the end, I dropped it because I had no proof of who actually cut the floor. However, I want to be clear that I spoke with the painter and he was adamant that he would take ownership if he had been working in that area--he wasn't. Action Glass refused to even acknowledge there was a chance their men could've made such a mistake. He was patronizing. Said 'he would deduct it from his men's checks' if I was going to make such a fuss but that 'he didn't think his men did it'. Maybe to some that sounds like he took responsibility, but he certainly did not.
My floors are old. They're beaten down, but this was my first home purchase. While I never expected this to result in brand new floors--I did absolutely believe it warranted a conversation and some minor resolution. I love my new place. The actual glass work seems well done, but it would be a cold day before I ever let this company near my property again. If you look at their responses to other complaints, you will see a strong pattern of defensive responses, accusations, and refusal to accept responsibility. These are not folks you want near your home. I understand that they might be a little cheaper than some other companies--I can also assure you there is a reason for that. read more
