We checked in at the shop. They were very patient with us as they explained the prices, options etc. Since we were all rooks they said we'd have an instructor help us out and set us up with a larger practice trap stand which had extra bench space. They also offer complementary water which we grabbed on our way to the shooting area. Practice traps are the kind that always shoot in generally the same spot so you don't have to track a sideways moving target. We had a 20ga shotgun which has a smaller recoil. Prices were reasonable. 15/25 traps and then 13/25 ammo, and the gun was 20. Our instructor John met us at the stand. It was a bit of a wait but once he got there he showed us the ropes and hung out with us, helping us out and just being a cool guy. We were there about 1.5 hrs. I had been talking about getting my LTC for a while now but I honestly didn't know when and how to start. So seeing this opportunity I instantly bought My ticket and waited anxiously. A little nervous because I've only shot a gun once, one time and no proper training. I wanted to be able to use a gun and protect myself when I needed too. In January 2020 someone tried to break into my home. I knew I needed a gun and training. When the class arrived we were all greeted and made feel welcome. The information Trent gave to us was very valuable. I really liked the way he was very calm and confidence in everything he said. He answered all the questions we had. Made us laugh and never over complicated things. His team was also great and knowledgeable. Once we made it to the range to go shoot. I was a little nervous but..... i was ready to shoot. He taught us how to load and empty , how to shoot, stand and aim. I am so very greatful for this class. I highly recommend this gun service to anyone. It's black owned too so support. You will learn all of your basics and still be comfortable with a gun no matter how new you are

Range targets have a bunch of pre-programmed scenarios (i.e. shoot/no shoot drills, reload drills, charging drills, increasing distance drill) or if you can create your own. Very clean with probably the best air filtering system in town. Biggest thing I like is you are not limited to an hour. You want to shoot for an hour, Great. 1 1/2 hours Great, want to leave and go have lunch and come back, again Great. All of this for one price. No more kicked off the lane in exactly 60 minutes. Gun rentals are only 5.00. They also have memberships with NO initiation fees that basically pay for themselves if you go 2 times a month. If you've read this far you can see I really love this range. I don't work there but I've been a member for 5+ years. They didn't pay me for this either.

We started off with fabulous didactics! Touched upon spin drift, wind, mirage, and a crash course on Applied Ballistics. Then climbed the tower w/ all the gear. Confirmed zero at 100. Garmin Xero for velocities. Adam's Kestrel for atmospherics. It was a deceptively beautiful day to freeze! Mirage was there. Wind was strong and super fickle just like your fave IG model. The cold northern wind was absolutely mind numbing! Frozen fingers. Frozen mind. You ain't training if it's not freezing! Thankfully not raining or hailing! Made some good hits! Missed a bunch at distance because of me; not the equipment! (Could've used the tutorial before Jack Reacher, but will have a new angle for my next Mission Impossible....shhh.)
