Dr. Skale (the son) zeroed in on work I needed done. He viewed my x-rays with me in full color and 3D, right there in the room. (Their technology is cutting-edge.) In the x-ray he said several fillings in the same tooth needed replacing, but when he examined the actual tooth and saw nothing was loose he changed his mind. I was very impressed, as this showed he's ethical. I had a broken tooth that needed a crown, and Dr. Goodsy (spelling?) did the work. I LOVED her! She was professional, very kind, and made me feel so comfortable. (Dr. Skale does the more specialized work, which I didn't need.) Regarding the crown: Dr. Goodsy completed it right there in the office, no need for a temporary and having to come for another appt. This office is cutting edge, professional, and very kind. (I met Dr. Skale Sr, and he was so friendly with a fun sense of humor.) The office staff is very friendly and helpful. (Dr. Skale's daughter also works there and is very pleasant as well.) It's easy to communicate with this office, as their phone number works both for texts and phone calls. I'm delighted that I FINALLY found a dental office I trust, can feel comfortable at, takes insurance, and is easy to communicate with.

I always felt at ease at this practice. Dr. Rodgers is the only dentist there and he is the owner. He has a great team of hygienists, who are all very friendly and professional. My hygienist is always very prompt, thorough, and makes sure that I leave the clinic with a shiny smile. Whenever Dr. Rodgers checked on my teeth, he has been very professional and informative. I felt fortunate every time he (and my previous dentists) marveled at me still having all 32 teeth without any cavities. About a year ago, I accidentally bit very hard on a bone and one of my lower front teeth became loose, which I could wiggle it with my fingers. I thought the tooth would come off and I went to see Dr. Rodgers on an emergency basis. Surprisingly, he told me not to worry about it after checking on the tooth. He is right - a year later, my tooth still sits tightly in its socket and is now back to normal. I like the overall experience at Northbrook Dental Care, and highly recommend it.

Dr. Jay Rodgers is the owner, and he has a team of nice and skillful hygienists and technicians. I have been happy with my hygienist Hallie, who's very kind, skillful, and accommodating. She has excellent memories of what I like and don't like, making each appointment pleasant and successful. I have been waiting for some dental work to be done by Dr. Rodgers before I write a review. Now is the time! I used to think that Dr. Rodgers was a person of no-nonsense. Every time he would quickly check my teeth, recommended what needs to be done, and then hurried into another patient's room. However, I found out from the recent experience that he is actually very kind and compassionate, and is also very respectful of my choices. The dental work was pretty "complicated", which involved removal of an old crown that was done by another dental practice years ago, but it was not done right back then, and he detected decay developed inside. He would then install two new crowns, one to the adjacent tooth that was prepared by another practice a long time ago. There was an old filling to be replaced as well. I called Dr. Rodgers' office with questions, one of his receptionists, Dianka, is always very nice and helpful, she had Dr. Rodgers call me back after his appointments. He called me back and spent 15 minutes patiently answering all my questions and explaining everything that needed to be done. I was impressed. The dental work involved 3 appointments, with the second appointment being the main one and was the longest, like 2 to 3 hours long, with breaks. Dr. Rodger's assistant, Erika, was very kind and professional too. Dr, Rodger was(is) very skillful, professional, and kind, and actually checked on me several times to make sure that I was doing fine and comfortable. His chair-side manners were just excellent. Although dental work is no fun to be sure, I didn't feel any pain or discomfort. I could even eat an hour later! The most important thing is, the crowns look so good and natural that even my husband and daughter could not tell which ones were crowns. They both guessed the canine. No, that was wrong. I am so happy with the results! I will not hesitate to see Dr. Rodgers and his team for future dental work. Next time, I will not be losing any sleep before the appointments, as I know that I am in good hands!

I was a month overdue for a cleaning and scoured the internet to find a dental practice that looked promising and was conveniently located near the highway. [In general, I am a bit apprehensive about going to the dentist, as I had previously had a negative experience that led to a burn on my mouth.] Dental health is vitally important and I know that dental issues are expensive and painful, so I made an appointment via ZocDoc and headed to Smile Obsession Dental. I love ZocDoc, and highly recommend utilizing it for all bookings possible! [Google Maps did have a bit of trouble finding the office, so look for the location east of the large gym, and beside Simon Imaging and NafNaf.] My initial impression of the office was very positive. The office is nicely outfitted, freshly remodeled and very contemporary. It is evident that the design took care and function into account, and I found the office to be immaculate. I was greeted and sat down for less than 5 minutes, before a friendly dental assistant escorted me to the room. The dental assistant was very welcoming and kind, and certainly calmed my nerves! [I think his name was Sae Hoon.] Dr. Kyros has great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable. He addressed all my questions and I felt he did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth too. I was very impressed that he explain processes and procedures to me and didn't just try to up-sell. I also loved that they photographed my teeth before and after, so I could also see the quality of the cleaning. This experience has been phenomenal for the 7 years I've been with Dr. Aaron…read more I came to him in 2018 after being neglected by my oral surgeon, who had placed two implants, and the dentist who had done the crowns. I had suspicion something was going on as one was wiggling. Dr. Aaron jumped on it and was able to identify malpractice and addressed the offending surgeon (Dr. Vaina of IVOMS in Peru, IL) to have it corrected. I went back to the offending surgeon (due to cost reasons and giving him a chance to fix it) and about 6 surgeries later, I was even worse off. Dr. Aaron investigated and created a course of action, which involved referring me to a new surgeon, Dr. Frank of Northshore Smile Surgery, who proceeded to perform a miracle to restore my gums to full health. Dr. Aaron created me a temporary fix to keep my teeth in place which held me in tact for five years. In October 2024, despite living in another state, I called Dr. Aaron and let him know the remaining implant was showing really bad signs and he confirmed my thoughts and told me to come in that week to have it addressed. I traveled 10 hours to see him and he was incredibly thorough and sensitive in handling the issue and it was deemed I had to go back to Dr. Frank to correct more malpractice from the offending surgeon at IVOMS (Dr. Vaina). Dr. Aaron set me up in a temporary bridge to help keep the aesthetics of my gums in tact and so as to not leave me toothless in the front as a young woman and bride to be. After the two month healing period, he squeezed me back in his schedule as I traveled 10 hours to see him again through Michigan winter madness. After 8 years of pain and trauma from other providers, Dr. Aaron took care of me at the highest level. He was the only one willing to identify and tackle this complex and heartbreaking nightmare, he handled each step over 8 years so tactfully and was truly invested in not only my business, but genuinely cared about my well being and wanted to see me find my dream smile. Dr. Aaron has truly gone above and beyond for me in every single aspect of my care for almost a decade, every dentist should be at his level. His sense of ethics, his personality, his attention to detail, his level of care... he's second to none. As a former dental professional myself, after working with him, it makes me never want to go anywhere else the rest of my life. The rest of the staff is fantastic too! Occasionally the other doctors would get involved in my case and were always very direct and clear while showing empathy for the situation. The front office staff and manager Kathy are wonderful and really helpful, always making sure to give any information needed and working around my wild schedule being out of state. The assistants are all fantastic and incredibly personable as well, I've always enjoyed each one I've had and have been pretty consistent faces over the years! You can't ask for a better dental office from start to finish. They even have a service dog on site, which has been amazing through something that's been traumatic to go through and recover from. I wouldn't be here tonight with my dream smile if it wasn't for Dr. Aaron saving me from malpractice from another office. He Did an unnecessary root canal, with crown and charged excessive service fees. The procedure took way too long at 6.5 hours for a root canal over 2 days, my jaw locked up because he left me sitting there while he jumped from room to room (I swear he has ADHD)! I'm not sure the procedure was even necessary! He books multiple people at one time, there's 6 rooms. I left after seeing him a few times that was enough!
