I had some sciatica pain in my left leg that was burning down my butt / thigh area. I was able to get in last minute on a Saturday and Cheyne was able to perform some acupuncture on me at their Bellevue location. The place was very quaint and charming. In the past I've only had female acupuncturists but I came in with an open mind seeing Cheyne. I really had no expectations besides having a nice self care day and giving my body some healing. Before my session, I was feeling stressed and anxious about an upcoming trip, wasn't sleeping well, and had some wrist pain from the gym. Cheyne immediately made me feel comfortable. He listened with genuine care and had this gentle, calming energy. I know it sounds strange, but once the needles were in, I felt an instant wave of relaxation--like my stress just couldn't get through to me. I have been seeing Cheyne for lower back pain. I have been going to physical therapy for awhile to recover from a back injury, but at one point my back just felt tight no matter what I did. Cheyne is gentle but effective. At the start of every appointment he asks for updates and incorporates my answers into the treatment. His treatments are definitely making a huge difference in my pain levels day to day. The providers are great, but what really makes choosing this practice a no-brainer is ease of scheduling, ease of parking, and flexibility (I can just get in with someone else last minute if needed). I originally started with Dr. Phi Lan for NAET therapy. Phi Lan was transparent, honest and direct. She was amazing in helping me identifying my needs and working out a plan for my NAET therapy. Tucked away in Factoria, I found myself at Zen Attitude Acupuncture. I've been to a few other acupuncture locations around King County and am glad to have found an office closer to where I live. I worked with Cheyne to address my lower back pain, stress and anxieties. He listened to my needs, and walked through what we could do during the session. Most recently, I had been suffering from non-stop,debilitating migraines for nearly two months. I came to see Phi Lan-Nguyen for pain in my wrists, elbow, traps, and neck. Phi is calm-confident energy. It's been years since I have done acupuncture, and Phi put me right at ease. She listened to me and my concerns and helped me understand what the treatment was doing and assured me that the new sensations I was feeling, were all part of the process. Our time together helped move some blocked energy around and helped me feel better. Phi is wonderful. :) After a few visits, I started seeing Dr. Jeff Kehoe when Phi's schedule was booked. Dr. Jeff is such a calm, wise soul. I had some anxiety for our first visit, and he talked to me so gently, helped me with some breathing techniques, and walked me thru what he was doing. In our next session, he asked how I was doing with my anxiety and if I would like to share what was on my mind. He then sat with me for about 15 min and let me talk while he listened, empathized, and calmed my nerves. After Dr. Jeff put the needles in and left the room for me to relax, I started to cry. I have chronic low-back pain for years since my discectomy in 2011. Things really got worse in 2019 that I started to consider physical therapy seriously. My therapist suggested me to also try acupuncture, since he thinks that would help. In fact, it is him who recommend me to go and see Phi-Lan, since he said she is the best acupuncturist he's ever seen. I trusted my physical therapist, so I booked an appointment with Phi-Lan immediately and that was just great! I continued to see Phi-Lan twice a week for probably 2 months, until I left WA for a new job in a different state. Phi-Lan is extremely good at acupuncture and knowledgeable. Before my appointment I was anxious and my heart rate was high, afterwards I felt so calm and grounded. He walked me through some breathing techniques that actually worked and were new to me which helped me understand what's happening in my body. I'm thankful to have found acupuncture so close to my home! I've been going to Zen for over a year now and I have seen both Phi Lan and Lily depending on my availability. They have slightly different styles but I enjoy seeing both of them as they are friendly, nice, professional and address my needs. Parking is easy and free. The scheduling of appointments is a little confusing initially - basically, you can check two different schedules online for both practitioners and request an appointment, and they will confirm through email. I came in to see Dr. Jeff Kehoe for a chronic pain in my neck. The pain has been present for years, but became much worse during graduate school. I have tried various physical therapy exercises, chiropractic adjustments, yoga, massage, and other acupuncturists, but nothing ever relieved the pain. I was nervous about trying acupuncture again due to a bad experience I had recently at another clinic. Dr. Jeff had a calming presence and listened with true empathy to my story. He recommended combining cupping with my acupuncture treatment, which I had never tried before. To my surprise, the treatment was not only painless, but I felt immediate relief while I was laying on the table. Dr. Jeff continuously checked in to ensure I was comfortable during the treatment. He offered breathing exercises to help me stay relaxed throughout the treatment. Within 2 hours of the treatment all of the pain in my neck was gone. Amazing! I cannot remember the last time I was completely pain free in my neck. I have already scheduled my next 3 visits with Dr. Jeff to address other pains I have acquired over the years. After a sports injury and some unfortunate medical 'Care' I found myself with an unusual musculoskeletal injury that was causing a medieval level of pain. I could not walk, I could not stand, I could not sit, I could only lay down on my stomach. Western doctors were of little help. The drugs they prescribed, nsaids and muscle relaxants, did almost nothing. I was at my wit's end. Then I discovered Zen Attitude Acupuncture.
