The café is amazing in its own right, but has an offshoot business Eire Pies - which according to their website was a challenge brought by a customer to Stephen to make more savoury pies for his menu. Eire pies are now sold at Foodland supermarkets , Tony and Marks at Gelnunga and Brickworks as well as in the café itself; and have amazing flavours such as braised lamb and rosemary, duck curry, beef and potato and vegan chickpea and lentil. On top of this achievement, Eiri café also produce a wide range of delicious biscuits, cakes and patries, and do an amazing brunch ( 7:30am - 2:30pm on weekedays and 8:30-2:30pm on weekends). I have popped in a few times on the way to work and was impressed; but this Saturday we stopped for breakfast/brunch on the way to running some errands. I had the pancakes with banana, maple syrup and mascarpone and I added bacon to it because bacon and maple syrup just belong together. My partner had cornbread with spicy tomato salsa, grilled haloumi, poached eggs and she also added bacon. My pancakes were light fluffy and delicious, but quite filling. The bacon was cooked well and the whole meal made me very happy, with big generous slices of banana and a pot of maple syrup on the side). My partner's corn bread meal though, was the stand out. I'm definitely getting that next time. I have never tried cornbread like Eire's before. It was light and fluffy and I think it was deep fried, but not oily. Perfect. He had tried some of their pastries before and loved them! In fact, this café sells their pies to Foodland Supermarkets. I have seen them in the Norwood one if you are interested. So, they are obviously doing a great job. The café has a good amount of space in it for a few groups of people. There is cute little collection of vintage items on tables and a pretty vertical garden inside. Eclectic in style. As for my brekkie, I had to order the corn fritters. I am so glad that I did, they were amazing! I have never had fritters like these before. They were deep fried, crispy and so super fluffy inside. They were topped with some tasty fried haloumi, greens and served with some fresh tangy salsa and cream. I was in the mood for some bacon as well, so I ordered that as an extra. I was so full afterwards though. I have to say, this is one of the best breakfasts I have had in a while. It really impressed me. Lot's of skill and love was put into this dish. Not having to wait long for our order, we sat in our corner and enjoyed what was a great bakery snack, with a great coffee and apparently what was the best banana smoothie my friend has ever had. We had absolutely nothing to complain about whilst having a feed/drink here, which is something we like to do! Situated adjacent Grange Beach, this bakery has capacity to sit inside or out, and with the doors and windows wide open, both offer an opportunity to soak up the sea breeze and the sounds of the seaside. The cakes and pastries all looked so fresh and inviting and the recipients of my takeaway cakes attest to the fact they were as delicious as they looked! I also witnessed a few examples of great customer service to other customers, whilst I was in there. I was greeted so warmly and the staff members were smiling and friendly. The decor is light and airy, stylish and clean and there is ample parking nearby. I think it would be a perfect place to refuel after a beachside bike ride!

Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine - dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals' end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;( it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. For $15 you get 2 large, fluffy and tasty fritters on a bed of salad that gives your mouth a little zing in the morning. A smooth bonsoy coffee left me with liquid-envy when I realised I could have ordered it in mug size instead of standard, but I have learned my lesson. The inside is simple and the place doesn't try too hard, it just is genuinely cool. A student share-house kind of feel, everyone seems to be a local or a regular and the outdoor tin shed and grapevine patio just amplifies the laid back vibe of the place.

We also shared broccolini on the table which was crisp, dripping, and accompanied by crispy almonds. One companion had the salmon and seemed to enjoy that; our vegan friend had only the option of the pita and olives, sadly. The wine menu was populist, if that's the correct term. The service was friendly and welcoming - I swear we had about 3 different waiters. Problem was that it was 1pm, there was no line up for lunch and yet I was asked 3 times within a period of 5 minutes if I was ready to order and then 3 times 15 mins later if I was finished my meal...A little too attentive maybe? This place is the higher end of a "casual lunch," and would be a wonderful spot for a special meal, lunch with clients and the like. Why? - The lunch menu of pastas, fish and meat mains and even their burgers were minimum $19 and above (but you are getting quality produce to boot). - The wines by the glass were on average $9 and above (and don't snort at the cheapest wine on the menu because it was devine). - You are treated with incredibly efficient and helpful service and you walk out stuffed with siesta-prompting fullness.
