Came across this place when I stupidly organised a girls catch up on Father's day. (2 of us have dads interstate and the other forgot haha) I wanted to book somewhere as I knew it would be busy and no where else took reservations. Thank god they took us because I hardly come to the East side of the city and I never would have come across this gem! I started with an OJ which was fresh and ordered the eggs with halloumi and smashed avocado. 1 egg was cooked a little too long and I wasn't a fan of the rye bread but my friend ordered the same thing and loved it. Personal preference I think! Lots of greenery and spices, the meals all came out together which is a big tick. Friend 3 chose the eggs benedict which came with real leg ham and looked awesome!! We all got coffees with creamy texture and great taste and they have a good selection to choose from including cold drip. Unfortunately no nitro coffee as the website mentions but they were very knowledgeable about their coffee and what to recommend. There is also a large fridge with a selection of banana breads, protein balls, foccacias and other yummy goodies. All in all, a great experience. The staff were fantastic and the owner genuinely wanted to have us there, having a joke around with us. Friendly service and quick turnaround with our orders. read more

Don't judge them on the name. I'm sure someone thought it was a hilarious pun-a-licious idea to call this place something incredibly hard to pronounce and spell. I was so relieved when I saw a true independent coffee shop opened on Hutt St that I could support with my daily coffee and working from home procrastination habit without guilt. They do a range of coffee types (pour overs, cold drip and your standard espresso). All the fancy coffee machines are out on show but I don't know how many people actually order the fancy stuffs. I haven't eaten from the lunch or brekkie menu here but I have enjoyed their energy balls from the cabinet (those peanut butter goji things are the perfect snack) and enjoyed their "I can't believe it's a vegan brownie" vegan brownie. I've been holding off on this review since I went here the first week they opened, and these guys now consistently deserve the 4 star rating I'm giving them. The service is always friendly and the coffee is damn consistently smooth (take away and dine in) - more to come once I have dined in! read more

Dwarfed by it's large neighbour this little cafe packs a punch when it comes to the beverage and dessert selection. The iced coffee was larger than life and delicious while my more unassuming late was pretty good too. The beef sanga (any sandwich with an egg is a sanga in my eyes) wasn't as good as what you would expect for a lofty 14 dollars, you'd maybe expect steak strips instead of colesish beef bits, or rocket or some other on-the-button hipster trend food chucked in there. But the cheesecake saved it for us, beautifully plated and verrrry good! Might pop back, this side of the city is where it's at! Would be great for coffee dates and pit stops. read more

I drive down Hutt st often and it took me a while to decipher the name. They have Veneziano coffee. Several different brewing methods including cold drip, siphon, pour over and regular espresso. Definitely worth checking out for a good coffee and friendly service. read more

5 star coffee, 3 star food For the first time in a year I have not put a sugar in my coffee from this place it was blended to perfection. The smell of the beans and even the temperature was perfect even topped with a fee button chocs to the side (see my pic). The ket down was the food presentation was 10/10 but my focaccia was pressed in a sandwich toaster so this compacts the trade mark focaccia texture. Could have toasted this under the grill separate then assembled would have made it perfect. If your a lover of American/Canadian style bacon you will get flashbacks from here the bacon is very American style and super tasty. read more

Service with a plus on a busy Sunday morning! I was in a rush on my way back to the car after an hours walk, nicked in and hope to get a coffee on the run, waited just a couple of seconds and decided to leave, but was convinced that I'll get my take away coffee in 2 seconds flat! Wow! That's service, he's determined not to loose any customers and for that, I'll def come back again! well done boys, that's the way to go, every customer who walks in is just as important as any, quick smart attention, am impressed and happy. read more

When I first heard of this place, I had just moved into the area and a stranger approaches me on Hutt Street and says "Hey, you like coffee? This is the place to go to..." Well if a stranger felt like sharing the good news, then indeed I was obligated to check the place out! Coffylosophy is indeed a great place to go to for a fine brewed bean and joins the ranks of Adelaide's beat specialty boutique coffee houses, where beverage becomes art. The cafe offers a variety of methods to enjoy your coffee from straight forward espresso to cold drip and a range of fancy glassware reminiscent of a mad scientist's laboratory. The knowledgable staff and high quality of food and drink make this little place definitely worth a venture into. Heck, venture in almost every day and I guarantee you will see faces you saw last time; probably make a new friend or two if you come a few times. This place has a loyal following of regulars, and I have quickly become one of them! read more

I've only ordered takeaway coffee from here so far and both have been strong, smooth and creamy, just the way I like it! Seriously good coffee. I did anticipate on having breakfast one morning there but they weren't ready for orders at the time. I don't really know much about the other types of brewing methods, would love to when I have time to ask the staff and perhaps they can enlighten me what each of the 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' type contraptions do. Really nice barista served my generously sized large flat white. It was hot and flavourful with a few chocolate drops on the side. I like to put a chocolate drop on the spoon along with some coffee froth for a nice mouthful. I actually came here for the 'nitro coffee', as stated on the website menu; but it has been discontinued as it wasn't very popular. If it weren't for this, i would have scored 5 stars. I've never been to Coffylosophy before until today, I hard heard good things and seen good reviews, I only had a coffee which tasted foot, not burnt and the service was friendly. Their menu was quite extensive for the size of the place, you could get meals as well as crepes which is always nice given my favourite crepe place is on the other side of the city. I will have to return another time to try more of their options, they also have options available that I haven't seen before like siphoned coffee, as well as the standard options as well as drip coffee. Service was quite warm and friendly and we didn't have to wait long before the first few drinks started to arrive at our table, the outside sitting area is quite nice for Hutt Street too, very nice on a mild afternoon for a relaxing drink or two. read more

This is a funky cool place! It has that - "am I sitting in a library drinking excellent coffee without permission??" - feeling. Except, your not - because thats just funky wallpaper. Its a quaint, quirky nook, that you could accidentally walk past if you aren't paying attention. But, please do pay attention. There are well trained barista's here, and they have well groomed facial hair. Theres a small outdoor area, and lets face it, in these warming days, those are sought after. It can be a bit on the noisy side, but wait a second, and the traffic quickly moves on. They don't just create excellent coffee, they serve some yummoliscious grub for your tukka time, from simple sangas to fancy treats. Have a gander and strike up a chin wag with an employee or two. Nothing like getting the inside knowledge of whats hot and whats hotter there! Found in the heart of the Hutt "cool factor" Street, its a quick stroll to parklands or beautiful shady streets. So try and park further away (you'll have longer to park for if you aren't so close - shun the 1hr car park and take your legs for a stroll!). A great meeting spot for those middle of the afternoons that you are trying to fill. And a fancy named place that is so fancy I can almost no say it without busting a sweat over it. This little cafe, always has welcoming staff, fantastic atmosphere, and most importantly amazing coffee. The mugs for the large stay in coffees are amazing, and large. The little chocolate buttons that you get are a lovely gesture. The staff are always happy, and positive. The food array, both sweet and savoury are always yummy and have a variety. The coffee flavour, and the range of milks to go with it, are good. Nice strong blends, at a good temp. The range of other drinks are good. A favourite to grab a coffee on the way to work, or after work to relax with a paper. read more

These guys need to sort their shit out. In some ways they are close to four stars, but it feels like they don't really get it (cafe experience) so probably won't get there. I have been confused by the experience and hard to work out where they are at. Concluded they don't know where they are either. They are trying to give a fancy quality-coffee image that doesn't gel. My espresso was not objectionable... but far from something to be proud of. My partner's giant chilli hot chocolate was pretty good, though a bit too spicey- they apologised for it when they served it. Not sure why not tone it down to begin with. Nearly good! But not quite there. My partner's banana bread was pretty ace, but my egg on toast had a flavorless poached egg, stale bread, non descript bacon and was dominated by salsa that tasted like cheap tomato sauce. The baby spinach was good. In hindsight, the food matched the reasonable prices, or at least was in that ball park (reminded us of UR cafe, which I do like), but unlike others these guys are projecting an image that is much fancier. There are a fair list of small, odd foibles... Not problems but i think indicative. Like serving water in take away cups. (Why?) The staff are nice and genuine, but other than that there's little reason to come here instead of Cibo directly opposite. The one thing I can think of would be a Sunday brunch with a mum who doesn't know any better, but would take in the fancy image (and not stretch the wallet). As they iron out the niggles they will probably approach a three, but I can't see them deserving four stars without an overhaul and realignment. read more

Lovely place for a yummy breakfast and a nice coffee or tea. My mom and I stopped in for breakfast, I ordered the oats and she ordered eggs and toast dish. Both were great and we didn't have to wait long. Service was great. It was a cold day and we both ordered herbal teas which really hit the spot. First of all - great coffee, though what else would you expect from a place with a name like this? Popped by just for a quick takeaway coffee and breakfast bite (generous sized ham and cheese croissant for $7). Immediately struck by the friendly atmosphere (complete with singing barista and smiles all round), prompt service, lovely range of food. Immediately regretted my choice of food (afore-mentioned croissant) while I had time to peruse the display cabinet with a myriad of other options (do I want fig and Brie or Italian spiced pumpkin and feta?). Coffylosophy is situated on Hutt St Adelaide. Presently is the number one coffee venue on the Beanhunter App. Very well appointed inside. A dramatic decor with black walls and ceilings, but one wall is papered with very realistic shelves of books with a library effect, creating an intimate cosy ambience. Out side the footpath is covered over, with comfortable black tables and chairs, making a popular alfresco area. As expected the coffee was excellent, the service friendly, with a good display of fresh, tempting dishes, cakes and pastries., accompanies with a good menu. We found this venue very relaxing, well worth the effort to visit. read more

They do all day breakfast so my partner and I got ourselves some poached eggs on Sourdough. His had mushrooms piled on and mine came with a tomato relish and dressed rocket on the side. Excellent coffee including some of the best cold brew in Adelaide. They do retail coffee beans too (Veneziano). Food is average. It's a small space so perhaps a by product of the small kitchen. Nice vibe though and friendly staff. It's definitely a breath of fresh air on the Hutt Street cafe strip. read more

Just had the worst experience here. Ordered coffee from a lovely female server then stood waiting whilst barista/ manager sat chatting to another guy even after she indicated I was waiting. Waited almost 5 mins whilst he sat a metre away laughing and chatting to a mate! He had no interest in customers and I will never be back! read more
