Not to mention the machine you use to load the card doesn't even take coins- luckily I had cash. Finally manage to get my money on the laundry card and it's almost 7$ to use one large machine (because I didn't have 11$ to spare to use 2.) Wash my laundry then have to move it 3x because 2 of the dryers I try the dryers aren't working. Finally spend the last of my money and dry for 25 minutes. The timer goes off and my laundry is still wet- even the small items are still damp. I cave and try to put another dollar or two on my card (card machine takes 5 tries to even read the card, a problem I saw many people experience), once it finally works the machine tells me it's 10$ minimum which, once again is very annoying when you only have 40$ to last you until next payday. I've never had these issues at another laundromat. I finally got fed up and went home to hang up the wet laundry myself

I dropped off three items for tailoring one week ago and paid for the services in advance. I was instructed to return today to pick them up. Upon arrival, the associate presented my items and informed me that I owed an additional $35 because she had forgotten to include one of the necessary services for a dress on my original ticket. She then stated that I would not be allowed to take my clothes until this additional charge was paid. The $35 charge increased the total cost for this single, casual dress to $85. Given that this was the staff's error, I believe the business should have absorbed this cost, especially since I had already paid $50 for the tailoring--a price point that already made me question if the inexpensive dress was worth the investment. Furthermore, my phone number was clearly on the ticket, yet no one contacted me to approve the price increase or ask if I wished to proceed with the work at the new rate. As a result of this experience, which was caused by the new management's oversight and poor customer service, this was my last visit to Jackie's.

I am very familiar with the Columbia alterations and cleaning community because I take a lot of pride in my clothing fit and maintenance. Some thoughts below. Pros: - low to no wait to get service -multiple dressing rooms so you can try things on as they are helping others - they do offer excellent work - timelines provided are accurate - couple is courteous, helpful, and thorough in their recommendations. Always happy to support a family business. - large parking lot so never any issues getting in I only have one con but it is it important. They are the most expensive place I have tried in the area, that includes alteration shops by the lake and in forest acres. I would say they are $1-$5 higher on every single service than anyone else in the area. If the location and the speed of turn around is more important that you might be okay with it, but for me, I would only use them as a last resort. The work is good but not worth the extra ticket costs, for me, when others off the exact same level of service.
