Zaxby's has become the master at "Shrinkflation" increased pricing and decreased portion sizes. The chicken fingers are about one half ( 1/2) the size they used to be. Service is iffy at times. To many people playing on their phones behind the counter. And they have basically became the "Spirit Airlines" of chicken restaurants with all the nickle and diming upcharges for just about anything and everything now. First and last time visiting Zaxby's. Waited over 40 mins total to get my order (drive-thru), 20 mins parked waiting and then 20 more mins back in line because they never brought out my food. Toast tasted very bland and unusual compared to every Zaxby's I've ever been to (I've been to 13 other locations in Georgia) and they didn't give us any Zax Sauce with our chicken finger plate. While down south decided to try Zaxby's. We've had it years ago but this was a first again in awhile now. We had shared a plate meal the 4 chicken fingers, fries,slaw, with a 22oz drink. The total with tax came out to be $8.23. The chicken fingers had little breading and fries were crinkle cut. The flavor of the chicken was so so due to minimal breading. Here's the thing about Zaxby's: It's fucking delicious. I really could and quite possibly should end my review there. But I'll go on because I'm long winded and full of passion - PASSION! - for this place. Chicken is their business. Crazzzyyy chicken. Wings (which isn't really my thing), fingers, sandwiches, whatever. But it's not boring or generic like KFC or Chuch's, it's real chicken. And sauces, and all kings of things. A lot of people get the wings, which like I said, just isn't my bag. I usually go with a kickin' chicken sandwich, which can come with excellent seasoned fries. But therein comes the real amazing draw of Zaxby's to me: Their patented special Zax sauce. What's in this stuff? I have no earthly idea. You could tell me it's the souls of Holocaust survivors or orphan tears, and I couldn't care less. It's tasty. Sometimes, when I'm fevered, I dream about Zax sauce. I want to put it on all of my stuff. Like my TV. I would, but then I'd electrocute myself from trying to eat the fucking TV. They have all kinds of dipping sauces to go with their platters, I'm noticing from the menu here, and I'm sure they're lovely. There's "Tongue Torch," which is described as "a succulent sauce with a little kick to let you know it's there." How nice. Or, "Nuclear," which is described as "a mouth-detonating mix of atom-splitting heart and serious flavor fallout." That makes me radiation hungry right there. But I'd be remiss to leave out a sauce entited "Insane," which is "an all-out tastebud assault from start to finish. Enough to drive you... well, you know." Very nice. Very lovely. But they're puddles of piss compared to the Zax sauce! I'm not kidding around here. You could tell me that Zax sauce is actually a gelatinous alien consciousness just readying itself to occupy my DNA and take over my brain and... Well, how much do I really need my DNA or my brain? Good stuff. Just a little bit more expensive than it probably should be... until you eat it and you think, "Wow, that was perfect and well priced." But seriously, this shit will make you fat. Daryl here made this hands down the best experience I've ever had at a zaxbys. He went out of his way multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. He even overheard it was my first time trying what I ordered so he made it a point to come find me to make sure I enjoyed the meal. Great personality as well. Love isn't even the world! Zaxbys is always the spot. anytime of the day (when open) zaxbys is perfect. I've had all of the appetizers, tried all of the meals that include boneless wings, traditional wings and chicken fingers. majority of the sandwich meals and all of the deserts and salads. I live exactly two mins away from the joint, what do you expect!!! I love my chicken. lmao ;) I can't express enough to you how awesome this place is. they have a good amount of sauces for your wings that are all amazing! my fav is wimpy because it's mild and I love mild but it doesn't make my nose run as much. their seasoning is unbelievably good and I still to this day try and clone it but it's impossible. the onion rings and fried mushrooms are great if you just want a snack, maybe taking a road trip and just want something that doesn't include a fork than try these. I love Zaxby's and sometimes eat here inside or outside several times a week. Today I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with meal. I have to say that was the worst sandwich I've ever had. The consistency was like rubber . If my blood sugar had not of been so low I would of complained. The store was not very clean today almost like the night crew was in a hurry to get off work. I regularly get the big zak's snack and it continues to surprise me on how random the saltiness is. I don't mind a little salt, in fact I tend to tolerate salt more than most people I know. But I have often received chicken tenders that were so salty that it was painful, and certainly inedible. All I ask is that there be some consistency so that I can be confident I will be able to eat my lunch instead of throwing it away. read more
