I'm usually not one to frequent franchise joints as I figure they don't really need my $ and I would rather support smaller and independently owned business. Some years a go a co-worker and I were driving to a Corp work event and we passed a Zaxby's which I had never heard of. I said what kind of food is it, and she laughed and said 'chicken, didn't you see the chicken logo?' I've never really felt compelled to try it until they started showing adverts for their chicken tacos. So today, I stopped in and had the chicken avocado ranch on flour tortilla. It comes with BLT and the avocado is actually salad dressing mixed with the ranch. I got bacon on 1 of the 3 tacos so that was disappointing. I walked in even though my intuition was to not as it was kinda busy at lunch time on a Sunday. The drive-thru line was backing up and when I walked in there were people stacked up around the register waiting on their food. There was one guy standing close to the front who I noticed as soon as I walked in. I stood in line for about 5 minutes, ordered and got in the huddle to wait...the dude was getting restless waiting of this food. Finally, I heard him say 'are you getting close with my food? If not just give me a refund, I've got to go'. The CSR said 'we're almost done sir'. When he got his food, it was in two bags and I saw him go to a table with his wife and 3 toddler age kids...probably shoulda went drive-thru on this one. Allison was the only one at the register and she was doing all she could to keep up but she was hanging in there and was still smiling when I left. Their menu sign was confusing as it showed the 3 tacos for $10.49. When I asked Allison did it come with anything she said 'oh, that's the meal deal, you get a side and a beverage with that'. I said I just want the tacos, it was $9.49. Not a bad price but I felt like I was eating chicken tenders with salad dressing. read more

Placed the order inside. Friendly cashier. Took approximately eight minutes to receive food. Food was hot, cheese. Was not melted as much as I would have liked and the ranch dressing threw me off as I would not expect ranch on any chicken Parmesan item at all. Ranch on fries - good Ranch on chicken - good Ranch with pasta sauce on fries and chicken with cheese - meh. Just my thoughts. Would definitely order again without the ranch. read more

I love Zaxby's. The food is always tasty and I've never had an issue with them...until today. I placed my order through the app and picked it up in the drive through. When I got home, I noticed a dark spot on my lid as I was sipping out of my cup. I went to wipe it off with a napkin thinking it was a crumb from my food. Nothing moved, so right then I knew it was stuck on the inside of the cup. I looked closer and I saw wings . When I opened the cup, I saw a full blown bug (I can't tell if it's a gnat, mosquito, or fruit fly) . I am so grossed out! A bug or anything in my drink that shouldn't be there is my worst nightmare come true. If I ever get a drink from here again, it'll be something clear like sprite or water. I am a huge fan of zaxbys, but today was exceptionally awful. To start off the person that took my order sounded grumpy, which kind of threw me off, but i ignored it. I was very excited to eat my meal, the chicken tenders were excellent, exquisite some might say. But boy oh boy when i got to the fries, they were an absolute trainwreck. Perfectly seasoned, but tasted like they were 3 days old. It seemed to me like someone found some old fries in the back, seasoned them, threw them in the box, and handed it to me. Ok so we went there for lunch and all I can say is "What a big mistake that was !" I've only been to a Zaxby's one other time in Florida so we needed a menu or one to see. I understand there is Covid but don't stand at the front of your establishment with the menu board in the back and when asked what kind of meals do you have they answered "Chicken ". Really ?! I love Zaxby's and traveled from Northern Virginia, in hopes of having an exceptional experience. I was sadly mistaken. I didn't feel welcomed in this Zaxby's, as I have in many others. There was no greeting, there was no smile, there was no thank you, there was no personable interaction. The staff members were more concerned with getting paid this week and showcasing information on their phone, than ensuring that the restaurant was clean or that the customers didn't feel as if they were interrupting them, while requesting additional assistance. My food was cold and I had to return it. There was no apology or anything. I am very disappointed with my overall experience, and will not return to this Zaxby's. I've eaten at Zaxby's for a few years every now and then. Discovered them on trips to ATL in Anderson, SC. At first I was in love and thought them comparable to Chick-fil-a, ahhhh but it was a lust thing and I eventually found that the Eat More Chikin place to be the worthy of my true love (to say that in public i think Herschel Walker will hunt me down and kick my a**). This Zaxby's is on par with others but could use a really good cleaning inside and out, seems to be a little dirty. Food and service is always really good for a Zaxby's but why do they hide the heavenly aerated ice now behind the counter instead of out with the drink fountains? So beside the fact i have to ask for my ice to be refreshed upon getting my refills, it's a good chicken sandwich or fingers when ya' wanting to avoid the burger joints. I have eaten at this location many times as well as used their drive through but I will never return to this location again. At least half the time my order is either prepared incorrectly or items are missing from the order. I always check my reciept and the order is correct on there but somehow the employees seem incapable of following the order when preparing the food. Then to make matters worse, when I let them know I have an issue with my food they are rude to me as if somehow I was inconveniencing them by asking for the food that I paid for. Picked up lunch from here today. It wasn't even remotely warm when I got back to work just a few blocks away. My suspicion is they are pre cooking and making boxed meals. Then they not keeping them at the correct temperature before serving. I called to speak with manager and actually spoke with owner of this location. HE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING about my complaint since it was the day before. Use caution and spread the word about these folks. The restaurants are franchise owned so don't expect too much from corporate either. Maybe when someone acquires a food borne illness they will do something about it. read more

WOW, I have been visiting this Zaxby's since it opened years ago because it is close, but the last year people who work there do not seem to care about service. I just ordered a 5 finger plate in drive thru and only got 4. Where is the quality control? They should check it before they hand it out the window!!! This is the 2nd time in a month my wife has gone to Zaxbys in Rock Hill on hurlong ave and received the wrong order. I didn't call back the first time but a second time was unacceptable. We live 30 minutes away yet the manager said we either had to drive back to get the correct order or bring the food in the next day to exchange.
