The experience I received last night is almost hard to rate. I arrived at 8:20pm to place an order inside. My first impression began with the poorly lit parking lot that seems almost unsafe to get out of the car. However the most disappointing part was the lack of customer service from Brianna at the front counter. There was no greeting, no smile or any attempt to provide a good experience. I asked for the order to be cooked fresh but what I received was pre-cooked food that she explained had been "dropped again" when I placed the order. The overall demeanor I received from her was a lack of care and concern for the customer. This is the very reason why I didn't request to have my order cooked again as I ordered. I don't know if these reviews are read by the corporate office or a franchise owner but something needs to be done to improve their front line experience and process. Stopped by to grab some lunch while driving through the area and was pleasantly surprised! We got 4 big zax snack meals and all of them were made correctly and ready on time. The tenders were crispy yet moist, probably some of the best I've had from a fast food restuarant. The fries were done well, could have been crisper but they were well seasoned. The toast was good too. We really like the Buffalo garlic sauce, and even the spicy one! Service was fast and helpful, they gave us extra sauces and utensils upon asking. Prior to their POPEYE'S rippoff with it's Chicken Signature Sandwich ZAXBY'S had and still has the Kicking Chicken Sandwich. It's supposed to packed with a "kick" with the heat from it's sauce but I didn't find that to be the case which is fine by me. If the flavor is bothersome you can drown out the taste with some other condiment. It's a decent sandwich consisting of 3 Chicken Tenders on Texas Toast. I get lured back each month because of deals on their app and typically am disappointed at the end of my meal despite getting good discounts. Consistently the reasons being: 1) The portion sizes keep getting smaller. Each time it seems like the tenders keep getting smaller. Even if I order a large fry, the amount just seems insufficient. 2) The food is never hot enough. The tenders and fries are always just luke-warm and not blazing hot. 3) The taste is lacking. The tenders don't have enough of their signature batter and the fries sometimes are almost devoid of the special spice. (The spice/taste is the differentiator of Zaxby's.) 4) The tenders are not super juicy/moist. 5) The latest time, the texas toast was only toasted on one side and cold. Even with the really good deals, I would have trouble recommending Zaxby's to anyone. I really urge management to dine at some of their competitors like Bud's and Chick Fil A to see the difference and try to get their product better. read more

My son and I had a disappointing meal at Zaxby's a few days ago. The food was just okay as was the service. The inside of the restaurant was dark and the tables were dirty even though the restaurant was fairly empty at 2 pm on a Thursday. The drink fountain was out of at least half of the pictured selections. When we ordered chicken sandwiches, the cashier called back to the kitchen to see if there were tomatoes for the sandwiches. Apparently running out of items is normal. Lastly, our lunch was way overpriced for what we received. Won't go back. read more

Zaxby's is a fast casual chain of chicken restaurants. The first Zaxby's restaurant was opened by friends Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley in Statesboro, Georgia in March 1990. It was based on another chain that Zach McLeroy enjoyed while attending the University of Georgia. Zaxby's now has restaurants in 17 states. I first tried Zaxby's a number of years ago during a vacation in Georgia. There is also a location I frequent near UCF when I visit my daughter but there aren't too many in South Florida where I live. This one in Lake Worth is the only one I've come across. I am a fan of their chicken salad called zalads but they also serve chicken fingers, sandwiches, and meal dealz. I remember Zaxby's having really amazing shakes on their menu in Georgia but I didn't see them listed here. The dining room is currently closed so take it to go but I did see a family enjoying their dinner on a table on the outside patio. I ordered the house salad with chicken which came to $10. They were out of my dressing so I just used some I had at home. The salad or should I say zalad is huge and come with Texas toast which was more like limp buttered bread. I really like their chicken. It is hard to judge this location without it being fully open to I am just going to round my 3.5 up to a 4. The kids staffing this location are friendly and working hard. It is a nice alternative to the other chicken franchises. read more

The greens were very fresh and crisp and the dressings were terrific as was the grilled chicken / not my kind of place but this was a well prepared salad. I'm giving this location a 4 star! I arrived on Monday night to dine in with my family. Chances are, if you went to a Florida university, you definitely had Zaxby's in your life. Personally, I use to love getting Zaxby's when I was in Gainesville. It was a great price for some delicious wings and texas toast. When I moved back to South Florida, it was hard finding a Zaxby's nearby. I saw this location driving by and decided to give it a try. They are very clean inside! Has such a new modern feel to their dining room. I loved the lighted signs around the dining room. They also have the new digital Coca Cola fountain machine so you have more variety to choose from with your soft drink. We ordered the chicken sandwich and some wings. I requested to have all flat and they said they were only able to do mostly flat. Since I ordered the meal, it should've came with a texas toast bread. When we got our order, they forgot it. We had to go back and ask for it. Otherwise, their sauces did not disappoint. We ordered one set of wings the spiciest sauce they had. It was very spicy. We thought the chicken sandwich was smothered with sauce. They could've had less sauce. For 3 people, our total was $25. I would definitely go back if I'm in the mood for wings again. read more

I went through the drive thru twice at this location and both times have been completely different. When the first time occurred, it was smooth and easy. We got our order in no time and even thanked us for coming. I've had the chicken kick, which is a little spicy for me and the kids love the grilled cheese sandwiches they have here. The second time was totally different. We went on a Saturday night and ordered through the drive thru. We pulled up and paid. The wait was on for about 15 minutes while there was five cars that were behind us waiting for their orders as well. We saw the staff asking the kitchen crew what's going on after they seen it was backed up and not one crew member came over to tell us anything. It was finally ready and they open the window to give us our stuff. Nothing was said about an apology for the wait or anything. We asked for extra sauce and they gave it to us. When I saw that nothing was acknowledged by us waiting in line, I mentioned to the crew member it would be nice to apologize to the customers for the unexplained wait. She looked at me and didn't say anything. The grilled chicken sandwich was good and all was happy once we ate after getting back home. I'm not sure what's up with the service that time, but I couldn't believe it since I have never received a bad service from any of the locations in the past. Had order around the middle of the afternoon around 5 o'clock. I ordered a five piece tender. They only gave me four piece. On top of that I told the young lady I went a large fry. I had to went back and get the fries. Instead of recreating my order I had to script off the coleslaw off my plate. When they could've give me new whole plate. Every time I order from this location, they messed up my order. Told the young man to sure it's fresh. My food was not even fresh at all. I don't recommend no one goes to this location. Just a average chicken restaurant. The food is seldom served hot. The staff shows little interest in their customers and their job. I have been to several locations and have seen good and bad with this brand of service and food quality. It really depends on which location you visit to the food quality and service level you will receive. The food is usually ok but there is often times when you do get it served right it's better than other times when you are not served fresh hot food. Only a few people in the restaurant....yet I waited 20 mins for my food. 9 dollar meal had about 15 barely warm fries, cold and dry Texas toast seemed like it had been sitting around for an hour. One of my 3 chicken strips was the size of a Mcnugget. Messed up my drink order. Went to make a refill and machine out of ice. Another customer told them, and nothing was done. The fresh wings tenders and fries is no longer something that happens at Zaxbys. The chicken is never hot the fries are never hot and the tenders are room temperature. You will never get all 3 hot. It's a hit or miss. The youngsters who work here is a whole different story one flip mouth said something slick and when I asked him to repeat it he said nothing. This was my first time experiencing a Zaxby's. Because the Wings & Things platter is a sampler I opted for this. It consists of 5 boneless wings in the sauce if your choice, three chicken fingers, celery sticks, seasoned french fries, and Texas toast. We also ordered a side of Cole slaw, spicy fried mushrooms, and white cheddar cheese nuggets. The Cole slaw was very good. We would definitely have the mushrooms again. We didn't care for the cheese nuggets that are served with a marinara sauce ( which is great for kids since it is full of sugar). The boneless wings were very good with my choice of sweet and spicy sauce. Their chicken tenders are probably one of the best I have had. I think the french fries are seasoned with just a dusting of Season Salt but are tasty. Overall I would definitely eat here again. So if you pass by one in the Northern part of the county, stop in and try it. read more
