And I could go on for days about the ultra tender and chargrilled pork, or the sublime limey and garlicky potatoes, or the mouthwatering babagonoush (no idea how to spell that!) because that would absolutely justify a 5-star rating BUT this time it was also the friendly and kind service we received. Our waitress Vicky was so warm and upbeat, it was refreshing. She was super sweet with my 2 year old as well. When he tossed a plate of humus across the table she came and cleaned it up and was so nice about it. Then they replaced the portion my son tossed! They really didn't have to do that. Then the manager comes around checking how things are going (which in and of itself is a rare thing to see nowadays) and when we mention it's our first time he tells us about his favorite items on the menu, he even let us try a bit of their homemade baklava which I can honestly say puts every other baklava I've ever had to shame! The salads had tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, pepperoncinis, and romaine lettuce topped with feta cheese and dressing. There was also a small rice stuffed grape leaf -- cut in half. The salad could have been a meal in itself. The moussaka was layered egg plant and potatoes with a ground beef filling topped with cinnamon béchamel sauce. The pasticchio is the Greek version of lasagna but with elbow macaroni. Both portions were quite filling. I ate my dish and he brought half of his home. He was saving room for dessert. For dessert, he had galaktoboureko which is a custard filled pastry topped with simple syrup. He said it was good, but it would have been better if warmed. Or at least if the syrup was warm.
