So for the last two Tuesday my sister and i have stopped by to order one adult meal and 6 kids meal as parents feeding a lot of kids late in evening it was a great deal for our family. I've eaten here before I believe, but again was an online order. Yes their chicken is defo their signature and delicious filled with clean white meat haha Their fried pickles are also great! Little on the thin side so had some sinkers when dunking, but can't blame them for that. Fried are fries haha Lastly the cheese curds... Now I LUV cheese curds as much as anybody, but I found these a little flavorless. Perhaps TOO flavorless. All the other items have a seasoning of some kind, then the curds are just cheese and bread. Service was excellent. Our cashier Eli did a phenomenal job, correctly taking our order and serving to our needs. The cooks in the back forgot one of our toasts and Eli was kinda enough to give use three toast because of the miscommunication. The service folks are always decent and the food is always good. They do nickel and dime a bit if you ask for any extra sauce for anything, but I'm going to assume that's a corporate thing and not blame the restaurant for it. The reason I'm not giving five stars is because everytime I've ordered delivery from them or done drive through/to-go, there's always something forgotten and it usually is the sauces. Now this feeds back to my earlier complaint of them charging for extra. If it was a matter of noticing and going back through to ask for what's supposed to be included (like, dressing for the salad or dipping sauce for the wings or the Zaxby's sauce for the chicken fingers) and them handing it you without hassle, that would be one thing. But they act like you're trying to get extra and say they "have to charge for it." Atleast when I'm inside, I can specifically ask what comes with and immediately check at the counter... but funny enough, it never happens inside. So, I don't know if the policy is really to be that stingy with sauces but it's annoying to the maximum degree. However, the food is too good to be ignored and I give credit where credit is due. :) read more

I had the combo with wings - though ranch is the 'normal' sauce here, it grates against a true devotee of traditional wings with blue cheese. I first fell for Zaxby's in the south. I was super excited to see one arrive in Fishers. When this restaurant first opened it was really good. I don't what has happened here. I ordered a 10 piece boneless teriyaki, the new chicken bacon ranch loaded fries and a large soda via drive thru. When I got back to work I opened the "10 piece" boneless and I was greeted by a SEVEN piece chicke with 4 pieces of fried breading. The chicken was rock hard, very dry and had very little sauce. I caused the restaurant and was told that the manager would call me back. (Still waiting for that call). Contacted Zaxby's via their corporate website to provide feedback. (Still waiting for someone to contact me). I LOVE Zaxby's sauces. But if this is an indication of how the direction of this store is going, I would be hard pressed to go back anytime soon. Just went here about 20 minutes ago and asked for our food to be made to order and as usual with most fast food places they lie and tell you that's what they are doing and then you get home to realize you spent a lot of money for food that's garbage. Got two big salads and the fried chicken was dried out and tough not to mention ice cold. Lettuce mix was obviously bagged salad mix and it was disgusting. Then we ordered the new loaded chicken tender fries and again the chicken was old and cold and fries Ice cold as well. I don't know how these fast food joints can stay in business when they serve garbage for ridiculous prices. read more

I've heard about Zaxby's for quite some time, but never had the courage to try it until today. Upon pulling up to the drive thru window it was nice to see so many options to cater to the whole family. I did wait about 15 minutes in the drive thru line due to the line of cars, which made me somewhat excited actually since clearly people enjoy this place. I ordered boneless wings with the Hot Honey Mustard Sauce, an order of their "cheese curds", and a medium coke. I was a little sad because I got the wrong drink, and my wings were not hot (temperature wise) by the time I got home (and I live just around the corner. The flavor of the wings themselves was amazing! I really enjoyed the spicy kick on the honey mustard sauce, and it reminded me of the sauce I used to get with my chicken nuggets from McDonald's as a kid. I personally thought the breading on the wings could have been a little but crispier (they were a little soggy), but that might have been due to the wings not being hot. The cheese curds were very hot and had a great cheese interior. The breading definitely has a beer flavor to keep that in mind if you are not a beer fan. Even with a few disappointments, I think I would give Zaxby's another try to see if this was fluke. I've heard great things about their sandwiches, so I might try that next. read more

They apparently have changed their hours and instead of telling us they were closing, they decided to yell at us from the kitchen area to "Get out" I apologized for not knowing their hours changed and said we heard them yell at us and she just said no problem. One time I did go back, which meant my other food was cold when I arrived back home. The manager made excuses about new employees still learning. This location has been here 4 years and I had no idea. I saw a FB ad and thought we'd go before our concert at the Nickle Plate. I got a free appetizer when I signed up on their site. It is a super clean place and the staff was top notch. The salads looked amazing! We ended up getting the food to go since we planned to take at eat at the show. I got the teriyaki boneless wings and they were really good! it seemed all the main menu foods came with a side and drink and I just wanted the chicken since we had the free appetizer. I got 10 boneless wings so it's enough for at least 2. My husband got a sandwich and fries and we also had the white cheddar bites. I really liked them! I plan to try a salad next time and would for sure come back just because I really felt like the lady helping us was super nice and helpful. My first time in a Zaxby's. There was an entire Boy Scout troop in the restaurant. Despite the crush, the ENTIRE staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. One of the cooks brought my free extra pickles to me because they didn't want me to wait when the rest of the staff was occupied. The entire team was clearly committed to a level of hospitality rarely found in any restaurant, let alone a quick service restaurant. Great job! Also, the food was yummy and a great value. I am having a very hard time trying to figure out why this restaurant isn't clean...Ice machine is nasty.....tables dirty and my food was cold...ordered a chicken finger plater and toast was cold and hard, chicken cold, fries cold.....did ask for a fresh piece of toast and just decided to forget about asking for hot chicken and hot fries. I went to Zaxby's and ordered 2 big Zax snacks in the drive-thru. When I got my food, it was lukewarm and tasted stale. The fries were covered in salt. I got to 131st and decided I wasn't taking this food home to my child, so I turned back. I walked into the restaurant to request fresh food. The girl who had just helped me in the drive-thru took the food to her manager. The GM, Kim, came to the front and asked what the problem was. I explained, and she insisted the food was fresh and not cold. I disagreed, saying it was cold and old. She offered to give me the same food back, but I declined. She went to check something and returned, saying the food wasn't cold. I told her it was lukewarm and stale, and I didn't want it. I asked for fresh food and no salt on the fries. I was shocked by her audacity to offer me the same nasty food back after examining it. She was very unprofessional, had an attitude, and I saw her touching her bangs that were hanging out of her oily scarf, then proceeding to touch food. I was not impressed and plan to call corporate to let them know. If I ever go back, I'll order inside and avoid spending money if she's there. She was the worst! read more

Visited for the first time this weekend, and left very impressed with the meal. I forget the exact name, but I got the mini chicken sandwich meal. It came with basically 3 mini chicken sliders. The bread of the sandwiches was so soft and had a buttery taste to it, relatable to a Texas Roadhouse roll. I really enjoyed it! The fries were crinkle and had a seasoning on them for flavor. It is just a fast food restaurant, so I couldn't give them a 5 star, but I really enjoyed the sandwich a lot and would definitely return! read more

Pt 2 The Chicken Sandwich Wars. Recently I wrote a review stating the chicken sandwich wars was over. I was wrong. I stated Popeyes had won the competition hands down. Then I tried Zaxbys. My nephew and I pulled into the drive thru. What happened next totally blew our socks off. We were greeted by a young man who clearly had drank one to many Red Bull's that day. I'm kidding of course. When he greeted us "Welcome to Zaxbys home of the best chicken sandwich". My nephew and I looked at each other skeptically. We had ate many other chicken sandwiches. Some were good and only one tickled our fancy. The young man at the drive thru sounded very confident. He gave us what I refer to as the " The business ". If I could gave him a six star rating I would have. This guy will crack you up. We got to the window and picked up our order. Same guy waits on us. He continues to his hysterical spiel till we drive off. Now for the "CHICKEN SANDWICH". Unwrapping the sandwich the first thing I noticed is the size of the chicken breast Zaxbys gives you. Bring your fat pants with you because by the time you finish they will be necessary. Biting into the sandwich, it's well seasoned and has a light crunchy texture ( must be from the double breading). You had me at double breading. When I find a stellar chicken sandwich it's like an Al Green song just sit back and enjoy it. Trust me this is a chicken sandwich that eats other chicken sandwiches for breakfast. Zaxbys has 3 central Indiana locations. Go check one out and get this now! P.S. Amazing place the fried chicken was so good I devoured it in an instant, I come here quite often with a friend and they never disappoint, the chicken tenders are to die for and the fries are seasoned on point. I agree with Michael B.'s review. I think Indiana folk are confused about a true Southern treasure. Zaxby's is just.. better than most other fast food offerings in Indiana. Not moreso than Chick fil A, but definitely Burger King, McDonalds, etc. The quality of all of the food is just better. If you can't taste that, too bad for you I guess? The meal deals (or should I say Dealz) are the way to go - it's all chicken based but there's a variety of sandwich, finger and wing options to choose from. Something that sets Zaxby's apart from others is the variety of sauces available for the chicken and extra dipping. The staff at this location is friendly and is happy to make recommendations. I truly do love Zaxby's, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here or any other location. If I'm passing by and hungry, you better believe I'm stopping though. read more

I was told that many people actually go to Zaxby's for their salad. That was interesting to me because it is a chicken joint! Since I needed a salad in my body my beau and I decided to go and give them a try for the first time. I had the Blue it came with Texas toast, he had Zensational zalad, it it came with an egg roll. He loved kids and I thought mine was just mediocre so he ate it too. Hoping I can change my opinion of this location after they have been open for awhile. We went in to order it to go due to the drive thru line wrapped around the building. When we ordered she forgot to tell us it would be a 40 min wait until we got our order! The sled service drink dispenser was empty which created another delay. They didn't have anyone that knew how to fix it but at least offered to fill drinks behind the counter for customers. On to the food... The chicken salad sandwich was good and filing. Had a good consistency to it. By the time we got home fries wee still hot. The boneless wings were saucy enough and satisfied what he was looking for. The fried mushrooms were not a favorite of either of us. I think that was mostly due to the batter and they were slices of mushrooms, not the caps. I did appreciate they offer other sides like the mushrooms , fried pickles, fried cheese but it all fried. Will try it again once the newness of the location wears off. Hopefully that will decrease the wait time since it is a fast food place. read more

I went to this location yesterday for the first time. I've been to Zaxby's in the South a few times. I've always loved their food, so I had high expectations going in. I was not disappointed. I had the wings and things. It was so delicious. The chicken strips was crispy, the wings were hot enough, the fries were great, and the Zax sauce was tasty. The service was excellent. I hate doing this because Zaxby's is a favorite of mine. We went in on a Saturday around 8. Ordered two tender meals and a sandwich for dine-in. The restaurant was noticeably dirty. Trash on the floor. Soda spilled everywhere by the drink machine. We had to look for a table that wasn't too dirty. The ice machine was empty and we had to get ice from the cashier. She did not seem thrilled to do this. We go sit down and when the couple in front of us got their food, we figured ours would be up soon. We waited. The place cleared out and we noticed people that just came in were getting food so we ask. They can't locate our order. We have to tell them what we even ordered. Then they find our order sitting off to the side of the counter. Nobody had bothered to call out the name or bring it to us. At this point it was 9:00. I told them our order needed remade. I was hangry at this point. They made it and we had it within 4-5 minutes. The stars are because the food was decent but the store was a mess. read more
