The chicken was slathered in the sauce, which I wasn't expecting. The Texas toast was actually crispy, not like the soft texture of Raising Cane's. This Zaxby's was conveniently located along a strip of other fast food restaurants on our way to the beach. While it was easy enough to get into the parking lot, the wait was pretty long. Zaxby's where we are from typically take longer as a lot of their orders are prepared as ordered. But sometimes you want fast food to actually be fast and fresh. First time trying Zaxby's and it was okay. Not great but not bad. Compared to Raising Canes (because I LOVE RC) they would lose. The chicken strips are good but not as crunchy as I like. When I got back to work it was missing the coleslaw so I called and asked for the manager. She told me there wasn't anything she could do unless I bring back the food and the receipt. As I was waiting for the corrected order I noticed how dirty the food prep area was. Seemed like all the employees were rather young. This Zaxby's is the worst I have ever been to. Their staff is completely incompetent. First, their soda machine is out of anything regular. In other words, all it had was diet and zero sugar sodas. My friend makes their order. The cashier tells my friend that they're out of coleslaw, so my friend asked for extra fries instead. My friend gets their order, and there's a side of coleslaw in it. I make my order which was their Cajun club sandwich which is supposed to have bacon on it. They did put any bacon on my sandwich. If you like slow service, rude staff and management, wrong orders, and general disappointment, this is the place for you. 30 minutes to get our order after watching it sit in the window for 10 minutes was not the worst part of the experience surprisingly. 4 managers on duty and the service was horrible. The order was wrong and the manager was rude when I pointed it out to her. The place was a wreck. Several customers were complaining about the wait, cleanliness, and the staffs general lack of concern. One can only hope the owners read this review along with several others just like it and do something about it. It was apparent that the 4 managers on duty will not. It's sad that we left there and went to the KFC next store which was clean and friendly and had a much better meal. I understand that the pandemic has everyone short staff and I try to be patient but this was not a short staff issue. It was a culture issue from management down. read more

We stopped to get Zaxby's fried chicken and grilled chicken salads to take home. I asked for the chicken to be on the side in a separate container since we were 15 minutes from home. When I checked the bag as we drove off, I noted that the chicken was on the salad. I got a piece of the chicken and it tasted ruined or uncooked .
