Walking up, they had a couple people selling their wares at tables. Walking inside, it is basically market with a few tables in the front. None of this should dissuade you. I have always maintained that the best Mexican food comes from these hole-in-the-wall, mom-and-pop type joints rather than a restaurant with an emphasis on ambiance. The service here was friendly, but disorganized. I walked in and was unsure if I should seat myself or nor. I asked the man at the counter and he pointed me to a table. I sat for a bit until someone noticed me. Once I was noticed, my server was friendly enough. I ordered three tacos, an asada, one chorizo and one cabeza. The food took a bit to come out, but when they did come out, I have to say they they were pretty good. My favorite of the three was the cabeza, followed by the asada, then the chorizo. The service again, kind of failed. No one came to check on me and when I was done, it took too long for the server to come hand me my bill. I finally kind of stood up by my table. A server came over and then asked if I was done. The service was very disorganized, but the food was pretty good and very authentic. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend LA Guerrense if you are in DeFuniak Springs, Florida and craving Mexican food. I was debating between four and five stars due to the disorganized service, but ultimately, the service was what it was and not that huge of a deal. I will give it five stars.
