Worst chicken joint in town. Prepare to have your order botched and the worst costumer service here in town

I know you want fried chicken but RUN!!!We needed fried chicken and both front doors were wide open!! Went inside to order and no one at the register to take an order (we were there half an hour...waiting) two employees were scooping Mac-n-cheese and potatoes etc from opened containers with lids tossed to the side, flies probably inside. Looked and the back doors were both wide opened & a box fan blowing. It was 92 inside. The AC was out. Two tables inside, and I'm assuming someone at the drive through. We all went to their rest room and waiting. No one said anything or came to the counter. We left hotter and hungrier. In the past two months we have ordered from here 4 times. The first time we ordered two of the large family bucket extra crispy meals. We got original recipe that was dripping with oil so badly the entire bottom of the bucket was covered deep in oil. They also messed up the sides. Called to complain every time and got excuses, no apology. Unfortunately, they haven't managed to get a single order correct yet. We have lived in a dozen states and love KFC, but Defuniak KFC is hands down the worst KFC we have ever ordered from with the worst customer service. Even the apple bites we ordered were dripping with oil so badly the bag was soaked in it and oil had dripped all over our boxes. They were in one greasy lump. They need new management and better employees. read more

I am so damned about this KFC. Not entirely, but some of it was good, we ordered 12 pc fried chicken, a spicy chicken sandwich, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes w/ gravy. The Macaroni and Cheese was good, however, the Mashed Potatoes were cold, and I am pissed off about that, and I forgot to mention that we ordered six biscuits, and we NEVER got them, the Spicy Chicken sandwich was mid, and the 12 pc fried chicken, most importantly, was the worst part. WE ORDERED SIX ORIGINAL PIECES, AND SIX CRISPY PIECES, AND WE GOT NO CRISPINESS, WE ALSO GOT TO SEE THAT THERE WAS NO GODDAMN CHICKEN BREASTS. The staff at this restaurant was working with no AC today. We are passing through from Texas. The staff was incredibly courteous and attentive. The staff there was Leshana (hope I spelled that right) Brock and George. I really was impressed with how positive, friendly and caring they were not only to us as customers but to each other as well. What an amazing group of people. KFC is lucky to have them. The manager and staff on shift on 10/6/2023 were so sweet. They had a chicken truck not arrive and my six-year-old was chanting I want a famous bowl, I want a famous bowl. She told the team how much she loved those. The manager said we have most of those ingredients here for the bowl it is the chicken poppers that we are out of but we have another chicken breast in stock we can tear it up and add it to the famous bowl. I loved that he acted fast to come up with this solution, and it made my daughter's day! I am sure this was a hard day to be an employee and tell all the customers about the truck debacle and we all know stuff happens. We waited 40 minutes for our order to be ready. The staff was more interested in getting the drive thru people their food instead . We saw 6 cars go through the drive thru line and we still had no food. The restaurant looked unclean and we were about to get our money back when they finally gave us our to go order. They were out of chicken strips. There was very slow service. The Pepsi machine had a gross brown film on it. The trash can was overflowing. All tables had sticky grime and crumbs on them. But there is good AC here, the water machine is in the back, the tea dispenser ware also in the back. Quite inconvenient. read more

The service here is so incredibly slow I am not sure how they are still in business. We waited at the speaker for 20min before we just drove to the window and we're finally attended to. It wasn't like they didn't know we were there we kept being told to hold on instead of simply taking our order. read more

We were driving through this city and decided to stop at KFC. Waited 10 minutes in the drive through line to finally order. Waiting an additional 30 minutes for one combo meal and a spicy bowl. (Which we NEVER got) Went inside to request a refund and the cashier refused because she was "busy". There was no one else in the drive through line as everyone was leaving due to slow pace and one gentleman waiting inside, but had already ordered. I'd like my money back and have proof of transaction via bank statements because I wasn't even provided a receipt when I went up to the drive through window. Horrible service.This place is DISGUSTING! There is food everywhere,crumbs everywhere.It looks like a table has never been cleaned since the day it opened.They still have their 90's beachy themed tables and chairs.My booth is literally ready to crumble.Not to mention the wait time.I stood at the register for 5 minutes before I got my order taken then I was never told it was ready i just happen to see it sitting up there.The staff acted like they didn't want to talk to you or even really bother with you.The food isn't even the greatest,it's very bland and didn't even try to make the food look presentable.I am not happy with this place at all and will never come back! read more

We were placing a relatively annoying order because of our kids but "Q" stuck with us and was so friendly and helpful. After I got done ordering I told my husband, "that man sounded really nice, you can tell he takes pride in his job". And even at the drive through window he was smiling and energetic, a nice change of what we usually encounter at different fast food restaurants. read more

Absolutely disgusting the second I went into the establishment I felt like I just contacted 38 various diseases. I've been there before, and I knew that the restaurant was pretty run down so I wanted to go through the drive threw, but it was "out of order". (Probably would've waited 20 minutes for them to take my order anyway.) So when I ordered my food they said their fryer was broken, so our select of (terrible) chicken was limited. When we got home to eat, the actual meal wasn't the main problem actually, it was the cake we got. The cake was so "moist" that it actually tasted like wet bread that you would throw in the pond for some ducks, absolutely not worth the money. We ordered our food at the drive thru box. No problem. We came to the window and they said they forgot to tell us that their credit card machine is down. They tell us they can only take cash. tell us its cash only. I do not carry cash often. They didn't want to give us our food. You know all too often we take restaurants like Kentucky Fried Chicken for granted. On my way home from the racetrack I gave in to my craving for KFC which I do at least once a year. As I popped in this franchise off of 331 near I-10, I was greeted by the friendly staff as I pondered the big question, "would I stray from the amazing Original Recipe chicken I've loved since childhood in favor of some newfangled chicken strips, or even the almost as venerable Extra Crispy? Well the answer is clear, don't mess with a recipe hand written on paper by Colonel Harlan Sanders that has been locked in a vault for many years. I submit to you that judging just the breading alone, there never was or will be a Chick-fil-A breast whose flavor will equal the Colonel's Original Recipe bone in chicken, not a one. So why doesn't the Colonel make a chicken breast sandwich as Popeyes has done? that remains a mystery; but I had a delicious 2 piece meal from this Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant, served up friendly lady who advised me "Original Recipe", and so I'll be back again, and I won't take for granted seeing these KFC's, still serving up some of the best fried chicken I've eaten in my life, and have been doing so since I was a child in the early 70s. Drive through broke, AC out, Receipt machine broke, No ice in ice machine. Floor was filthy Worse experience ever at a KFC.

Mashed potatoes were full of a flour like substance - guess they use instant potatoes! Needless to say, they were inedible and the gravy was lumpy and nasty, too!! Chicken was well cooked though, and the cole slaw and biscuits were fine. read more

I have only been a few times over 2 1/2 years, hoping things will improve at this KFC. The air conditioner doesn't work which is essential here in Florida. I have never had my order done correctly. Went inside to place a take out order and we ordered 2 BIG Box both with 3 pcs of chicken, coleslaw, mashed potage and gravy. Total was $20.31. Ticket number 3421, Restaurant #J235056. We drove home and found NO mashed potatoes in either box, only a bowl of gravy in each box. We live to far to drive back and this is not the first mishap we have had at this location. Most overtime we go here there is a mishap with our order, we usually do the drive-thru. This visit we went inside to make sure they had our order correct. We were the only customers inside, drive thru had a couple and with the staff they had, no errors should have been made. We are not happy customers and this time we decided to file a complaint with KFC. read more

I love KFC chicken, grew up on it in fact, so I can honestly say this KFC restaurant from service to delivery is poor. Went through the drive thru and ordered 2 Pot Pies, told there would be a 9 minute wait. (There were no cars in the parking lot or drive through line but me.) Ordered the 8 piece meal instead, wanted corn on the cob, not available, whole kernel corn, not available, settled for green beans and potato wedges. When I got home and my wife opened the box of wedges it was obvious these wedges were old and dry, they were horrible. If you love KFC as I do, do not get it from this one. read more

I have stopped at this KFC location several times, each time my experience gets worse and worse! One time I used the drive up at 11:30am. Nobody answered the intercom system after waiting a lengthy period. Finally I drove up to the window and honked, a guy came to the window and said he was the only one there, nobody else showed up to work and he was not opening. I gave One star because giving zero stars was not an option. I pulled up to the drive-through to order a five dollar fill up. It took me 20 minutes to get through the line and get my order and there were only two cars ahead of me one at the window and one ordered just before me.
