Well, it's Covid Season and there's not a lot of great choices out there. So, when I was on my way back from an hour-long trek up to my dads farm and he wanted to stop for a bite to eat, fast-food seemed like a good alternative to stopping at a dine--in restaurant. I wasn't thrilled about going with Zaxby's as I have had quite a number of poor experiences with this chain. Everyone always goes on and on about how good Zaxby's is...but I've never had a good experience...until now, but it still wasn't perfect by a long shot. At this Z's, the outside was just as clean and nicely manicured as any other and while it had a patio, we weren't sure if we could eat there or if it would be a problem. We were still pretty far off from home, so taking the food with us wasn't an option, but if we could sit and eat outside the confines of the car, it was going to work for us. We asked at the drive-thru if it was OK to eat on the patio and they said, sure thing! Well, after we ordered and got our food, we parked and walked over to the patio- which worked or our purposes, but otherwise would be considered a ridiculously tight and confined space in which three wrought-iron, over-sized tables and nine or ten unfortunately-armed, wrought-iron chairs sat with less than 6 inches of distance from the sidewalks' edge and the railing that fenced them in. The seating area is only 10 feet away from the drive-thru window, so if you sit down outside and eat, you are basically on display for anyone in the drive-thru. It's a little disconcerting. I kept feeling people's eyes on us as we ate- seemingly judging us for eating in public during the pandemic. Regardless, we brought out our Clorox Wipes and sanitized everything (including ourselves) and proceeded to dig into our meal. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Club sandwich. It was pretty good- except for the fact that it was ever-so-messy. I dunno why, but it just wouldn't hold together... I asked for extra bacon, but I didn't get any. So, that was a downer. I also requested mayo on the sandwich, so they gave me a couple mayo packets. Had I been in the car- this sandwich would have grown cold, waiting for our arrival at the house. Why? Because there's absolutely NO WAY that it would be considered a food to be eaten with one-hand or without mess. My dad ordered a grilled chicken ceasar salad. He was quite happy with his selection. The lettuce looked crisp and the chicken smelled freshly cooked and looked juicy. We also ordered 2 sides. Our absolute favorite were the fried mushrooms. They are delish! Their fried mushrooms are on par with any other standalone establishments'. They were crispy, yet juicy and bursting with flavor. I like dipping them in horseradish sauce, myself, but they had garden ranch for us. I could eat those mushrooms all day... The second was the fried cheese curds. I explained what cheese curds are to my dad and he was less skeptical and tried them, but they were quite small. Had they been larger, they would have been a lot better. However, they were still good while they were hot. My biggest problem with many Zaxby's is that they don't get my order correct or that they send me out frozen "fried" foods. Yes- FROZEN. My local Zaxby's has got NOTHING on this Zaxby's. ALL the food was cooked perfectly (except the extra bacon - but we didn't get charged for it either...so that's a wash). Overall, this Zaxby's has earned a 4/5 from me because they served good, hot food and were courteous and clean. Did I mention they had their masks on? Yeah, they did a pretty good job. The only point deduction is really because their patios is awful. They should really think about moving it to the front of their store instead of leaving it in the space meant for a walkway on the drive-thru side of the building. read more

Love this Zaxby's location! The drive-thru line never gets too long, and the staff here is always so on top of things and I've never had an issue where my order was messed up in any way. I normally get one of their Zalads, and the Cobb is probably my favorite, but lately I've been going with their new lemon pepper rub on their chicken fingers and it's sooo tasty!! Love their Texas toast as well, and of course, cannot forget the Zax sauce that simply goes with everything. I also appreciate that they've recently brought back their milkshakes, and the cookie butter flavor is 10/10. read more

Food the chicken is always dry. Salad always wilted. I walked in with a burnt shrimp meal requesting it be remade. I was told "No" by the manager. Then I said it's hard and they proceeded to remake at which point I requested a refund. My order of seasoned fries only had a single fry that was seasoned. Chicken tender was just mediocre. Shake was actually decent for the price. Texas toast was a tasteless wet piece of white bread. Coleslaw inedible. read more

The service is wonderful but I'm just not a huge fan of Zaxby's food. The fries are often limp and soggy with bland flavoring. The chicken strips are way too salty for my taste. I miss the birthday cake milkshakes they used to have, those were delicious and the main reason I frequented Zaxby's. read more

My wife and I stopped for dinner on a Sunday evening around 7:30 PM. We were able to place our order quickly and found a table that was clean. The restaurant was moderately busy with five or six orders in front of ours. Our wait time was not bad, we ordered a 20 piece medium traditional wings order, side of mushrooms and extra celery. with blue cheese. Our order number was called within ten minutes and our food was served hot and fresh. With one large drink, our total cost was $30.24 FOOD: The overall quality of the food was excellent. The wings were fried perfectly and there was plenty of sauce. The mushrooms were plentiful and fried with a spicy coating, served with a side of Zax sauce for dipping. The celery was tender and fresh. SERVICE: The service was par with other fast food restaurants. The front counter staff was friendly and efficient. CLEANLINESS: The restaurant was clean, it was busy but the tables and the floor were free of debris. Restrooms were stocked and clean. No issues or problems and we would definitely stop here again when in the area. read more

Went to this location this afternoon to order lunch. After waiting at the register for more than 5 minutes. I asked the lady on the telephone if they had anyone to run the register. She indicated she was busy talking on the telephone. Mind you she wasn't taking orders. She was just too busy to accommodate paying customers. I only get so much time for lunch break, and when you go to an establishment that isn't efficient makes it hard to get back to work on time. Needless to say today because of there incompetent service I will not be getting lunch. read more

This is our local go-to zaxby's location. Whenever we come here, the service is fast and the food order is always fresh and accurate (and we order all kinds of random extras/substitutions). Not sure what's up with Zaxbys today, but came in for lunch, got the #2 six piece. This was disappointing, half pieces of chicken more like a 4 piece.. fries are cold.. To add the dude at the register was taking the guys in front of me and handling cash, then when I get up he grabbed my cup and put the lid and straw inside the cup with no gloves. I did ask him for a new cup which he have me, but for heads up of your trying to avoid Covid may need to double check there being safe at check out. read more

This was my first time at this location. I got a buffalo blue salad, which I always get. There wasn't too much chicken, most of the chicken was just the skin anyway. Zaxby's is Zaxby's. When I first experienced Zaxby's it was great, after a few visits the newness wore off and I found that I really didn't like their food at all. It's not just this location, it's all of them, but since my office eats lunch from this location at least once a week I will leave my review here. Something about Zaxby's feels "heavy", it's hard to explain but all their food just feels saturated and heavy. It's not really greasy per se, just feels heavy. Chicken and Fries both have the same issue, they only reason for 2 stars is their grilled chicken salads are not too bad. read more

There's a young kid working there and I didn't catch his name so I am posting to hope he gets recognized. He's skinnier, white with dark hair and maybe 18-22. He was working the outside/drive thru tablet service on Tuesday night 10/27/20 and he had a great attitude about him. I will NEVER eat at Zaxbys again. A few months ago go a salad. When I got home and opened it up there was a HAIR in it. Benefit of the doubt, got a salad last week, looked great, ate almost all of it and found a hair at the bottom of it! Was not mine! I liked Zaxbys but NEVER again. I drive out of my way to eat at this Zaxby's from the Zaxby's choices I have in my immediate area. This is an established, well run establishment. I have been here at off peak times (mostly recently 2:30pm today) and I received fresh, hot food FAST! The service from the cashiers was courteous, and the place was clean! I know Zaxby's is known for their chicken, but try a grilled cheese sandwich basket! Best grilled cheese around! They also have killer BLT sandwiches! Aske them to put it on buttered wheat toast! My friends on the East Coast RAVED about this place, so I tried it per their request. I went twice in one weekend, and I got the Big Zak Snack and the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich. I'll go ahead and say that the Zak sauce is good! It can be compared to Chick-Fil-A sauce, but with a different kind of kick. It has a more... Southern kind of kick. I liked it! However, the chicken was just "A-OK". It was breaded well and moist, but it was just chicken. It wasn't buffed up with spices or anything else to make it more flavorful, leaving me to drench them in sauce to satisfy the taste buds in my mouth. The people that work at this Zaxby's are nice and care about there customers. Every time I go to this zaxbys they call me by name. The food and the customer service is wonderful and exceeds my expectations every time I go. If I ever go through the drive through line the wait is always short because the food is always prepared quickly. read more

The Zaxby's location in Cumming is absolutely wonderful! I frequent this fast food restaurant's drive thru. Not only is the service friendly but the salads I order are always fresh. The wait for your food is usually not very long either which I like. I honestly can't believe how outstanding the service is! At a Zaxby's? Thankfully, we arrived right before the lunch rush. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Placed our order, got out drinks, & got a table. Within a few min, one of the runners brought our food to our table. My wings were cooked to perfection! Juicy and the right amount of sauce.
