I don't normally write reviews, but our experience tonight deserves a warning to others and hopefully catches the attention of management. My wife and I stopped by this Zaxby's in the rain, and from the moment we pulled up, the tone was off. Instead of a greeting, the night clerk immediately barked at my wife to "pull closer" in a stern, impatient voice. No hello, no welcome just attitude. As we started ordering, we were informed that they were out of all shareables. For a national chain, that was already surprising. But fine--we moved on and tried to order dessert instead (which is on a different part of the menu). When my wife asked for cheesecake, we were hit with another curt and dismissive, "We're out of shareables," in the same rude tone. No clarification, no courtesy, just more of the same short-tempered energy. There's a basic level of respect and customer service that should be standard anywhere but especially at a place where you're paying for the experience along with the food. Tonight, this location failed across the board. To the management: I sincerely hope you see this and take a serious look at how your night crew is treating customers. We won't be returning, and I'd advise others to do the same until some professionalism is restored at this location. Plenty of other chicken in auburn. Oh and the fries were cold. read more

I wish I could rate this zaxbys higher, but my wait was extraordinarily too long. They were understaffed.. with what looked like three employees. I visited this zaxbys two and a half hours before closing and waited about and hour and half for my food... one employee came out to take orders manually, which helped... but the wait still was incredibly too long. I will say my food was fresh and hot.. and that it was made to order. If you visit this location your food will be fresh but be prepared to wait. Also this zaxbys is drive-through only. read more

I have eaten at Zaxby from Virginia to Florida a states between. If it was my first tume eating the food it would have been the last. This location is not producing great tasting products. Before I do a less than favorable review I visit the location at least two times. I ask for crispy fries they are limp and soggy. My chicken wings were dry almoat tasted over cooked. The tenders were extremely salty guess from the seasoning. The young lady on the register talked so fast had to be asked to slow down and pronounce better. I am not sure what dialect ahe had. This place is packed no matter what time of the day it is. The portions here are two sizes up from McDonald's. The breading is danger on a chicken strip. Teach ur employees how to get a dang order right. Especially Noah A. Whoever that is. Don't let him take anyone's order because he'll do it wrong AND won't give u the right sauces AND wont give you ANY sauces for the egg rolls. I asked for 10 boneless, got traditional. I asked for 2 ranches, got 2 zax sauces. Gave the sauces back and the lady at the window sounded soooo unhappy to do her job... the thing she signed up to do. Chicken fingers, wings, and fries are the basis of this chain... Its actually a good change in fast food concepts when compared to the burger and chicken chains where I live. My daughter and I were running way late on having lunch today and really wasn't in the mood to take a stab in the dark at a dine in restaurant that might have been disappointing and a waste of money. A very nice atmosphere inside with friendly and attentive staff. I got a combo with chicken fingers, hot wings, fries, and Texas toast. And added an order of fried mushrooms. My daughter got the chicken fingers, fries, and Texas toast meal, with a side that's similar to fried cheese curds. She enjoyed her meal, as well as I did. If there was one thing that could be improved, it would be the mushrooms. I know that mushrooms basically act as a sponge to everything that it's cooked in, but there has to be a way to minimize the grease that it has when it's served.. Overall a pretty good place to eat, and I'd stop back in again for a meal. read more

I love Zaxby's. I'm a California girl but use to live in the south not to long ago and this was my favorite chicken spot, so every time I come back to visit I have to hit up Zaxbys before I go back home. I usually get the buffalo chicken salad which is delicious, and it also comes with a side of big toast (ooooh that toast). My last visit I ordered the chicken salad sandwich which to my surprise was also really good. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Go and let your taste buds soar. read more

First time eating at a Zaxby's after hearing rave reviews. First impression was horrible. The young woman behind the counter had a bad attitude and obviously wanted to be somewhere else. She didn't have any responses to my questions and she kept rushing me through the ordering process, telling me my total after every order instead of waiting until we were all finished. The sauce was way hotter than I was expecting because they said it wasn't spicy. The chicken was subpar for what you pay (very fatty) and there's bacon in their chicken caeser salad (I don't eat other meats besides chicken). All around was a very disappointing visit. I've worked at Zaxbys on south college for about two months. They sent me home for my nails but they didn't send my Caucasian coworker home when she has been wearing nails since I've known her (she's not a manager btw) and hers were longer. Wow! That's what I said as I bit into a hot juicy chicken tender at this amazing restaurant. I was in complete awe that so much flavor could be concentrated into such a small, crispy, and perfectly bronzed food item. Furthermore, my eyes widened and my mouth watered as the first BBQ boneless wing entered. I'm a little embarrassed to admit it but I'm pretty sure I also let out a loud moan. I was visiting the University today and decided I needed a quick snack to take care of my hunger until dinner time. I stopped by because Zaxby's was one of my favorite fast food restaurants when I lived in North Texas, and I hadn't been to one in quite some time. The Texas toast was always a draw for me. Today, the chicken and fries were great as usual; however, the bread was as hard as a rock. It was completely inedible. The most disappointing thing is that when I called, the person who answered the phone (Griffin) seemed to not care at all. It's not that I was planning to go back there for another slice of bread; I was simply making them aware so they could check their supply and be sure not to serve poor quality bread to other customers. He didn't thank me for making him aware of the problem. He did not apologize for the quality or even offer to make amends in anyway. He was completely dry and uninterested. My personal favorite are the Toungue Tourch, Nuclear, Zax, Hot Hunny Mustard, and BBQ. -Fresh, (mostly) never frozen chicken tenders and wings. Does not include boneless wings. -Salads exceed expectations and are customizable. -Original menu items such as "Nibblers" and appetizers are commendable. -New Coca-Cola Fountain -Fries are bomb. Cons: -Zaxbys is pricy and lacks a low quality value menu like other fast food chains. Consider preparing your own meals if you have the time. It's not difficult. -It's popularity and location makes the restraunt almost always busy. College students, some less tolerable and less considerate than others, will populate the drive thru and store floor every single afternoon and night. -The grease gets crummy and used durning these rush periods. Tips: -If you're going to buy wings, I'd go with their boneless wings if you're trying to be efficient with your currency. The traditional wings are tasty, but i personally never see myself paying for them over boneless. -Their grease traps are fully cleaned wednesday afternoons. The freshest grease is around 2-5pm, especially on wednesdays. -Come in before lunch rush (Noon or slightly before noon) and your sandwiches will likely have a bit more attention to them. -Don't stand and stare at the counter, looking like your waiting for your food. Find yourself a seat and sit down. Your presence imposes on the employees, even if it's slight. Your food is on the way, might as well save some caleries by sitting down (fried food has empty calories so you need those) -If you're in the drive thru, you may want to reconsider ordering wings or cheese bites if you don't like waiting for your food at the drive thru. Wings take 8 minutes to cook properly and cheese bites take 3:30. If you've ever sat at the window waiting for cheese bites, you have held someone up behind you. Don't like being held up? Consider ordering inside. -Franchize puts pressure on the pultry industry. Americans eat so many chickens. genetically modified chickens, at that. Consider changing your diet. read more
