I'm a huge fan of Zara in any city and I love that Chicago has two right downtown. This specific location always has enough deals for my cheap ass, so I keep coming back. Yesterday I wandered in before moving on to Topshop and found a 50% off sale section by the first floor dressing room- got a dress for $10 and chelsea boots with mesh for $25! Since I typically only shop sale sections in most stores, this probably is not a comprehensive review but they are definitely worth checking out periodically for their deals. read more

While their cloths are appealing, they are very poorly made. The clerks (they are not sales people) are extremely rude, no customer service skills at all. If you get a gift, even if tags are on the item you must have the receipt; otherwise they will only allow you to exchange for the same item in a different size. If they don't have your size ..to bad. Even with the receipt they will only refund to the exact card, a gift with receipt but without card becomes store. Credit only. I watched 6 people straight in a row have problems trying to return items. Most of the clerks are too busy talking to. Each other, or checking their phones to offer any help. If this is an example of what retail stores have become, no wonder they are going out of business, Zara deserves to go out of business. . read more

I realize Zara is not popular here but I had a fantastic experience. I neither work for them nor am I affiliated in any way. I have actually never purchased anything so my review is based on my 1 time experience. I did not purchase anything! I exchanged a suit I had already purchased online and intended on exchanging a couple of shirts as well. I also told the lady that I was in a rush and you can realize how announcing your shortage of time and requesting expedited service can be misconstrued for snobbiness; I do. I got the couple of items and was trying the clothes on. As i was changing the young lady, who I did not realize was outside, asked if I she could help unfold she shirts as I tried the pants. She also fetch 1 size up and below all 4 pieces. She didn't have to! I got the clothes exchanged, turned out the shirts fit after all and I left in the record time I was hoping. I admit, I visited in mid morning hours so not too busy and I may have been overdressed as I was enroute elsewhere but I was treated with pleasantness, and efficiency by both the young lady in the men's department and the young man at the checkout point. In recognition of the low ratings for the store here, If anything maybe they stepped up their customer service since then or I was lucky to meet their two most pleasant staff or I am easy to please. Regardless, I am extremely happy! read more

The worst customer service in Chicago's magnificent mile. Very disorganized, you found clothes everywhere from different departments,no one offered help and they treat you very bad . 1 cashier on each register for 20 people. I can't understand such a big company has all this issues. Zara should change the shitty management to get better reputation. There is another Zara in 108 N State. Better than this assholes who doesn't know how to treat customers read more

Customer service can improve. They should let us know about return policy before we finish the transactions. It is a hit or miss with the clothing options. It is European style for the most part. I have found some great options but for the most part, I don't find what I seek. It is a nice location and plenty of space to walk around. Please open more registers during the busy hours, season. read more

Horrible people!!! They stole my money and the merchandise!! Customer service is a joke and they should be ashamed to say they work for such a horrid company!!! I can't wait till the class action law suit they will be hit with and for the bankruptcy filing from @Zara!!! I placed a $200 four item order and received only 3 When asked would they be replacing the item or refunding me they said no to both causing me to open a dispute with the credit card company. While the dispute was open I decided to return the remaining items from that order because I refuse to do business with such a company. After reading how people return via mail I decided to go to the store and do my return because it would be the safest way... so I thought. I made the return it was processed into the system I was given a receipt yet I never got my money and when I called these assholes they said because I have an open dispute for a missing item they would NOT be giving me my money back until I close the dispute and clear their name. I must have lost it on every agent I talked to. How dare you hold my money?!?! What type of bs backwoods crap are you trying to pull ZARA?? That's out right theft and I have notified the attorney generals office and my credit card company who was appalled at these egregious actions. This is blatant fraud and you will pay for this!!! Hopefully more people boycott you and shut you down!!! THIEVES read more

What is the point in having multiple fitting rooms and registers on two floors, if you're only going to utilize ONE? It's a high traffic store. Literally no need for anyone to be in line to pay for over 30 minutes!!! read more

I've had two bad experiences with Zara.com within the last 2 months!! I ordered a shoe for my job holiday Christmas party and I stalked that website for days and finally a size 11 was available so I hopped on it. Shoe was ordered and I was excited only to be crushed that when I tracked the package it was delivered but I didn't receive it. I called spoke with a few reps told I would receive a resolution by Friday December 8th, 2017 still hadn't received a call or email so I called on Monday I was told that the driver stated that the package was delivered to a side door which clearly there is no side door on my home!! So I'm out of the money I paid for the shoes plus I had to purchase another shoes, also the whole encounter was rude and unprofessional all around the board I wouldn't suggest anyone to order from zara.com I love the items they carry but the headache of the delivery process is hideous!!! I will upload pics of the shoes and the long wait time Yasmin (manager) thought I was gonna fold and hang up I just want my full refund!!! read more

The employees at this location routinely treat patrons with indifference or passive aggressive behavior. They are focused on chatting with each other and their paperwork, ignoring customers, slow moving, long lines and disheveled clothes. The 'managers' are just as bad as the cashiers. I've been to Zara in Korea and in Japan. I haven't been to a Zara in the states, but I had high expectations. So, realizing that Zara opened on the Mag Mile a week or so ago, I went with a friend today. It was a complete zoo - there were kids crawling on the floor (seriously) and playing video games (yep) all over the the place. There was a lady I accidentally bumped into (gently) and I said "excuse me" and she yelled at me back and asked me if I was going to apologize! I was just baffled as to why this lady was on my case. I went to go try some clothes on and I noticed that there were pretty bad makeup stains on a shirt. It was the only size left and I really wanted it, and the fitting room employee told me that I could get a price adjustment. So, I'm waiting at the register for 20 minutes and what do they tell me? That they can't give me a discount whatsoever and that I was misinformed. Everyone in here, from the customers to the fitting room workers, was so unfriendly and extremely unpleasant to be around. Everyone was on edge and it was so stressful! I couldn't move without feeling trapped. And seriously, why are your kids crawling on the floor and blocking my way to a nice shirt dress (that may or may not be overpriced at $70)? The shoes were pretty but they were all overpriced ($90 for a pair of sneakers? Might as well go big if you're going to go big and buy a pair of Nikes or something). So disappointed in this Zara. Should have lowered my expectations. read more

Four stars for the clothing. Zero stars for the employees. Don't come to Zara expecting any of the following from said employees: -smiles -help -attention -service I'm ignored every time I shop in this store. When I do ask for help or have a question, I either get the wrong answer (I've asked for items, been told they were out, and then found them myself multiple times), ignored (yes, ignored), or get treated with complete attitude and apathy. The most personable employees at Zara are the security guards. Everyone else is horrible. read more

I'm a regular at Zara's, and have shopped here in 4 different countries I think. This was my first time at this store, and the staff were SO snooty! The clothes were lovely as always, but customer service pretty much only exists on the ground floor (where all the latest and most expensive stuff is). Upstairs on the second floor, were the Basics collections and on sale items -the associates there were too busy talking to each other to help anyone. What clinched it for me, was when I needed a larger size of an item of clothing, the associate in the Fitting Room rudely refused to get it for me, because 'It was an on sale item". Their policy apparently, is to not help customers who don't buy full price items. If you need a larger size of on-sale item, you have to march out yourself, pick it up, and come back to the end of the fitting room line. To be clear: the store marked down the clothing, they offer it on sale at a certain price, but I will be singled out for poor service with a huffy attitude if I attempt to buy it. Absolutely shocking behavior. I wonder what horrors await the people who shop in the clearance section. read more

Ok.i can see here all people are mad from the costumer services at the store. Actually, they are bitchy, rude, ZERO training, I feel sometimes that they train them to be bitchy!. Horrible costumer services!!! In other words, Zara doesn't deserve to be in this prestigious place on Michigan avenue beside other big brands!. I hope someone in Zara company can read all the Yelp reviews and do something... Specially the manager that work on Zara Michigan Ave, she is the biggest rude girl I've ever seen. She is a bitch!!! I love Zara!!! This is the first time I shopped there and I absolutely love it ! Honesty I was little bit scared because of the yelp reviews I saw but I must say I strongly disagree with them! I received great customer service ! I called them Sunday morning and I asked to put item on hold for me when I arrived cashier was able to find them right away. Fitting room lady was so nice, she was very helpful even took few pictures of me and brought different jacket so I will see if I may like something else. They are very professional and very helpful , at the register I realized I had to pay little bit more then I was expecting and cashier lady( I think her name was Veronica) was very understandably since I took my sweet time to look for different type of payments !!!!! I will be back for sure !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I absolutely love my jacket ! read more

Terrible service, the employees are pretentious and rude, and completely unhelpful. They are completely rude, ignore everyone, and are quite honestly so arrogant. I am never setting foot in another Zara for the rest of my life and ordering online from now on. I went to the 700 N Michigan Zara around 7ish on Monday to pick up an online order. As soon as I walked in, the employees did not greet me with a friendly smile or offer their help, they just stood there aimless and ignored all the customers. I went to pick up an online order, and noticed that the lines on the first floor were a mess, as were all the clothes thrown around. I went to the second floor, thinking that line would be longer. I waited in line on the second floor, and was faced with two of the rudest retail employees I have ever met in my entire life. There was a girl trying to return pants in front of me, and the girl at the register was COMPLETELY rude and disrespectful to her- something that is highly off-putting for someone who newly started shopping with you. The girl at the register who I went up to, told me to leave and go to the third floor. And she accused me of not waiting in line for my turn- when I STOOD IN THAT LINE FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES. She was completely rude, and dismissed me. She and the other girl were just SO rude. They were snobby, and it made me upset because I am a customer and i expect to be treated like one. I went to the third floor, after i was rudely dismissed, LIKE A DOG. I went to the third floor, and told the guy at the register about how i was upset, and he pretended to care, even though he definitely had a snobby and indifferent attitude. read more

I said I was only going to give positive reviews on yelp but I was FORCED to make an exception. Boyfriend saw a leather jacket he really wanted here and when we went to buy it later in the week, they were sold out of his size. He was really bummed so I decided I would surprise him and try to get it. I go back a few days later and they have the jacket!!! I had a couple other stores to stop at and thought I'd pick it up after so since it was the only MEDIUM, I wanted to hold it. Went to register, no associates to be found. Decided I would just leave the jacket and call to hold it. (I was in a rush, figured why not) Left it at the register. Left store. So I call.. Get the usual greeting similar to "my name is.. how may I help you?" I reply: "Just in, wanted to hold a mens jacket I saw" "So you need the mens department?" "Yes... yes, it is a mens jacket" "Please hold" About 5 minutes on hold (only bc I was desperate for this jacket) A voice gets on and the same greeting "my name is ... how may I help you?" "Umm.. yes I was holding for the mens department - I need to hold a jacket." "Oh my god I answered the wrong line! Oops!" HOLD AGAIN I'm thinking wtf.... ok I will hold. Another 5 minutes goes by, nothing. I think the best thing is to hang up and call back. Greeting- "Hi yes I was on hold, I need to speak with the mens department to hold a jacket" ON HOLD ANOTHER 10+ MINUTES. Now I am p.o'd. I hang up, call back immediately! Greeting- "HI, This is the second time I am calling. I have been on hold for a total of at least 20 minutes trying to get someone to hold a jacket for me. Is there ANYONE who works there who can help me?" "Oh my god! HOLD ON!" (as in oh shit!) Immediately a gentlemen comes onto the phone. Asks what I need, I tell him. He puts me on hold while he is looking. Takes a few minutes and he comes back.. "Men's department" "........ Yeah, you were checking on a jacket for me" "I know I'm just playing! Yeah we got the jacket." "Great, it is a size medium right?" - still not sure why that was funny? "Yes" "Ok because you only had one on display and I need a medium" (I say it again because I want to ensure it is there) "Yeah it is a medium, we have mediums from shipment and the rest are bigger sizes." I give him my name and thank him. THE CONCLUIONS -That night I go in to get the jacket, give the clerk my name... he gets the jacket, There it is, in all its glory - the jacket, the color, my name on a tag - XXL. DONT SHOP HERE IF YOU EXPECT ANY TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT DOESN'T EXIST. read more

That store is run by completely incompetent people. I tried to exchange a Christmas present this morning, and the idiot at the register refunded it to THE GIFTER's CREDIT CARD. I clearly asked to exchange it for a few items I had placed on the counter. Rude checkout girl, apathetic floor manager. Processed a return without listening to me state the reason why (was a gift ordered online and sent to me by a friend). I love Zara, but this particular Zara has never been great for me for some reason. Perhaps it's because the entire store is so poorly organized and messy. Can I give a zero star rating? I had loved Zara for the past 15 years since I lived in Madrid and have always thought their clothes were quite good, or at least worth the money. However my boyfriend bought two dress shirts from there b/c they seemed like a great fit for his frame. Not even two months later, there are holes in the elbows!!!!! I've never seen this before in any shirts. I tried to return them to the store and they would not take it back. I am very very disappointed in the quality of clothes here and the customer service. DO NOT buy any dress shirts from this store, unless you plan on buying new $70 shirts every 2 months. If you have that much disaposable income, please contact me! i am looking for new friends. So this Zara has the best merchandise of the three that I have been to (Old Orchard, Woodfield, and now 700 N Michigan) but the awful customer service won't allow me to go back, ever. My mom had called the day before to put a shoe on hold for my nephew. I leave work on my lunch, in a cab, to pick up said shoe. I get there and thand associate is there alone, and there is no shoe on hold....she tells me she can't leave the floor because all her co-workers are on break. Meanwhile there are 2 other people who need help and she can't do anything but stand there and ring out merchandise..really Zara? Who lets three other associate go on break together? I finally flagged down someone to help and she tells me she's going upstairs to th stock room to look for the shoe. I wait....and wait....and wait...15 minutes later I see said girl hanging clothes back up on the floor. I walk up to her and ask 'soooo did you not find the shoe?' And she says 'oh I sent my manager to go find it' FOR REAL?! Like, really?! Yeah nope, no, nah, no bueno...NO..I left with no shoes and the worst customer experience ever.... read more

ZARA has some beautiful items, but if you're outside their return window or if you've lost your receipt, even if you have the CREDIT CARD RECEIPT, you are SOL, because you've just lost your money. I just tossed $80 in the trash and ZARA lost a really good customer. read more

This location kills the one in Block 37. There's so much more merchandise and everything isn't a small or xtra small for those of us that have boobs and butts. The sales people were much nicer and actually greeted me at this location, although it was a weekday. I didn't end up buying anything but tried a few things on. I definitely have to go up a size but I usually do in teeny bopper type stores. I'll be back here, although I'd imagine it's a zoo on weekends. Perhaps on my next day off. read more

I can't count any stores nowadays that won't refund a return just using a receipt (Zara requires the credit holder to be present) and then on top of it , you can't return a men's purchase on the ground floor, you have to go back upstairs to do that. Then when you get there they make you wait like 10 minutes because they are opening the check register at noon. Customer service sucks here read more

I'm sorry the selection at this location was not that good. Maybe I'm biased due to the one in ny has everything and helpful staff.

OK. When I walk into Zara I know I'm not getting extremely high quality clothes, I'm getting trendy for a good price. I have no problems with this. But my first visit was completely ruined by the girl at the registrar. I had mulled around the store for a 30 minutes trying to decide on what I wanted, finally made a decision and went to the cash registrar. There was no one else in line, and three girls at three different cash reigstars. One of the literally starred at me, gave me a dirty look and went back to talking to her friend. I stood some more. Same girl looked at me and RUDELY says "Are you like ready?!". I go up she grabs everything, doesnt say anything except to her friend "you're acting bitchy, you should go eat". And the conversation continues. shes hungry, she needs a break, bla bla bla. She orders me to sign and shoves my jacket in a bag. Looks me up and down and say "Bye". I have not been so horrified by a retail experience ever. Its a total shame because a girl helped me earlier with a shoe size and she was lovely but the trip was totally ruined by the girl at the end. I contacted the store, they said they cannot do the refund in store. They gave me a customer service phone number, I called them. THey said I need to contact corporation and then I called the corporation, they said I need to write email to mother company which is in Spain. I am really upset right now. I lived in Spain for awhile and was a HUGE Zara fan when I did. They always had cute, trendy clothes for good prices. However, I've been to a couple of Zara's in the U.S. and I have been pretty disappointed...to the point of walking out empty-handed each time. That never would have happened in Spain! That being said, if you're looking for something a little different and unique, but still decently priced, Zara is a good option. Be ready to go a size up, though, which I never find appealing.
