Zapiecek! I didn't realize this was a Polish chain restaurant until hours later of walking around Warsaw, but it is very good Polish food at very good prices! I also noticed real local Poles were eating here too, so its legit. The staff were friendly enough and spoke English efficiently. The interior is a little traditional and little silly with the art and old photos, but its delightful and clean. 36PLN/$8.57 Mixed Pierogi Plate...so good! The variety was awesome! Some better than others, but still all yummy. I love the meat, spinach, and mushroom the best. Be sure to get them fried instead of boiled, the hot crispy texture greatly improves the deliciousness of Pierogis! I also paid an extra 2PLN/$.45 for extra herbs, yum! 15PLN/$3.50 Mug of Sour Rye soup...I don't know how to describe, but it was savory and delicious soup! 14PLN/$3.33 Mixed Salad & Pickles...two kinds of kraut and 3 little pickles, gotta get my vegetables! I highly recommend visiting Poland, you get so much for your American dollar! This was a great meal for only $15.40ish! Also in Poland, taxes are already included in the price, and tipping is not required! Though I always tipped a 8PLN/$2 or more if service was good, as it was here.

We decided to stop here on our recent trip to Poland. We were hungry after a long flight and it was cold. Even though it was a chain, everyone was very welcoming and patient in explaining the different dishes. I was really happy to find multiple vegetarian dishes here. The food was delicious and the hot mulled cider was one of the best. Service and ambience was great! This was one of our favorite places on our trip. Highly recommend it.

Many people associate Polish food with pirogues and Zapiecek specializes in them. Whether you want sweet or savory with meat they have. My pirogues had a not too heavy shell and contain substantial fillings. I ordered the mushroom sauce which added a pleasant finish. There was a line to get in and it was not a tourist line which is a good thing in my book. Fun ambiance inside where it has a quirky decor.

The best deep fried pierogi sampler I've ever had! Great ambiance and friendly staff. Delish beers

The pierogis comes in a grandma portion, which means they come in a pot of nine dumplings. There are sweet, savory, and fried dumplings. Decided to get the mix version instead of having nine of the same dumpling. The kompot juice was delicious and complements all pierogis.

Always a must visit when I'm in Warsaw. I don't eat pierogis my entire trip until we go to Zapiecek. They have a ton of locations, some more convenient then others. We always visit the ones with outside seating cause of our 2 small ones, it's normally small spaces inside the locations. The food is always amazing and consistent. Definitely worth a visit if you're near one!

Despite this is a chain restaurant with five (or more) locations all within a few minutes walk in the old town and new town, this place was recommended by Yelp, TripAdvisor, Rick Steves, and a few local tour guides. So we had to try it. We came here twice, both times have lines outside. Both times the wait was worth it. They serve traditional Polish food, especially known for pierogi. In addition to the boiled and panfried pierogi, we also tried the beet root broth with beef pierogi since it was Xmas time. The broth was surprisingly refreshing and the dumplings quite filling. The meat dishes are excellent as well. All well stewed with heavy flavors (saucy taste) and hearty sides (potato, bread or fries). Polish traditional food tend to be salty due to the heavy sauces and strong flavor, even the pierogi are a bit salty for me though i'm a low sodium person. We especially liked their winter specialty drinks - the mulled wine, warming fruit fusion and kompot drink - simply delightful on a winter's night. It is somewhat of a tourist scene but there are locals too. The food and drinks are awesome and that's all it matters.

This place is very touristy but I still got a recommendation to stop by here for some traditional polish food. I got the assortment perogies and the sausages. Both were hot out of the oven. Unfortunately, this place doesn't offer sides as I only really wanted 1 sausage but had to get the entree dish. I think the mushrooms perogies were the best in my opinion. They were super flavorful. I got the combination to try the different stuffings, but would go back again for just the mushroom ones.

Pierogis (Russian, cabbage and mushroom, blueberry).

In Warsaw a couple of weeks ago and was set on having pierogis, aka the "Polish national dish." Came across this small restaurant which served them, and popped in. Ordered nine pierogis of three different flavors (the "Russian" which is basically cheese, cabbage and mushroom, and blueberry). My favorite one was the cabbage and mushroom. You can also choose your sauce to accompany it, so I chose cranberry- super tart, but worked well with all three of the pierogi flavors. Wasn't until later that I realized that it's a chain restaurant, as I found another one situated just around the corner near the Royal Castle. Call it rather a tourist trap, but all the same, it was decent food at a decent price (about 28-30 zloty) and a great way to start off the time in Poland.

Pierogis and Potato Pancake with sour cream

Let me start by saying I approached this restaurant with trepidation. My tour guide called it "Polish McDonalds" but it was anything but. First of all the atmosphere was homey and cute. We were seated inside as all the outside tables were taken. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. They offered helpful suggestions to a table full of jet lagged foodies from the states. Our group tried a variety of their famous Pierogis with bacon, potato pancake, spare ribs, and sour rye soup. Everything was tasty with huge helpings which could be easily shared. Sangria hit the spot with our meal! We moved on to Vodka and liqueur tasting to end the night. I would recommend this restaurant as there seems to be one on every corner and from my experience, it has good polish food at a reasonable price ... and no there's nothing fast food about it.

Omgosh....when you want to go to peirogi heaven, this is the place!!! Absolutely delicious....every thing I ate. Wait staff made excellent recommendations. I've been "peirogi 'ING my way thru Poland and these are hands-down the best!

Truly Touristy , truly excellent. Near our hotel . Had a line out the door all the time. Waited a few minutes for a seat. The food was great. Had 8 kinds of pirogies, all excellent with the best sour cream I've ever eaten. Potato pancakes with mushroom sauce. Wow! Interesting space , cool drinks ( Fruity Sangria)

Great food and nice atmosphere. The staff brings the food out quickly. The only down side is seating...tight seats.

The dim-lit ambiance, the dark wood accents and white tablecloth gives that formal yet cozy environment and with that, comes an exquisite menu that will leave you with a very pleasant and memorable experience. Reservations are highly recommended which I did have so check-in was a breeze. The waitress was very knowledgeable with the wine list and menu items which was extremely helpful when deciding among the various delicious sounding items on the menu. I heard that the Steak Tartare is a must here so I ordered that and to my delight, it's the best steak tartare I've had in all of Poland. It's prepared table-side from a very charismatic chef which added to the excitement and enjoyment of trying this tasty item. The Beef Wellington was also a delight. The buttery and slightly crisp puff pastry melts in your mouth along NG with the tender and juicy beef in which the demi-glace adds additional flavor to the already mouth-watering profile. Just pure gloriousness. The Bluefin Tuna was the final item I tried and the tender, fresh and scrumptious flavor of the tuna paired with the black truffle, avocado, artichoke and teriyaki sauce...so good. I unfortunately did not have enough room for dessert but wow I watched the items pass by me landing at other tables and I was so wanting to try one of them but not one single bite more of anything could've fit in my stomach. That's why there's always a next time :)
