    Dumplings

Another Yelp! find that turned out to be spot on. This place was near our hotel and I liked it so much I ate here twice during my stay. Warm, traditional interior. The Polish dumplings were very good. You must try the pork knuckle - huge! Service was pretty typical for a lot of places in Poland- not impressive. On my second visit with a large group, the appetizer I ordered was delivered to someone else at the far end of my table. About 5 minutes after that person realized no one on that end ordered it, someone from my group delivered it to me. I had to call the waiter to confirm it was mine. He was apologetic and brought me a free shot of their horseradish vodka - very unique! A person in our group loved it so much he purchased an entire bottle of it. That's how service recovery is supposed to work!

I heard a lot good things about this place from my polish friends, so when I was in Warsaw I decided to take my dad and brother in law for dinner there. I really liked the decor and atmosphere (takes you back to the good old days). The other good thing about this place is the fact that you can read their menu in both Polish and English, but unfortunately servers do not understand much of English (at least ours didn't at all). I ordered potato pancake stuffed with mean and it was ok (too expensive and I've tried better). My dad had celery steak (yes, you read it correct, steak made out of celery... go figure) served with barley and it was ok too. I enjoyed their hot beer. I would say this place is way overpriced. And the service needs to be more friendly with foreigners.

We were seated outside which was very nice given the pleasant weather. I ordered the food of my ancestors- 2 kinds of herring with boiled potatoes, cooked cabbage and fried shredded beets. I drank a cucumber lemonade that was very refreshing. The food was good - and way too much for me to eat. My husband had an excellent half duck(nothing my ancestors could have afforded) with vegetables- he tried to help me eat mine but it was still too much. The staff was very nice and helpful and of course, there was an English menu. Friends seated nearby said the lamb shank was delicious. For Americans, the cost is extremely reasonable!

LOVED this restaurant. Recommended by a friend and we were so glad we went. 1. The food was in BIG portions, and strong, so make sure to order a meat, a vegetable, and a grain. We ordered the lamb shank, potato pancake (beef goulash), roasted vegetables, asparagus salad, and bread basket for 3 people and it was perfect. We had the chocolate cake at the end. We loved the lamb, veggies, cake, and bread. The beef goulash was very strong but good, and the asparagus salad was a bit disappointing. 2. The service is good, but takes long, as they'll warn on the menu. 3. Good for tourists (they speak English), not great for vegetarians.

Folk Gospoda was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't really expecting too much as we were just looking for somewhere to have lunch and spend an hour or so warming ourselves. The room is inviting and cozy and we may have ordered an embarrassing amount of food but thought this was a good opportunity to get the classics. Plenty of families and friends were enjoying a weekend meal. If you are in the neighborhood or staying at the Hilton you owe yourself a walk over for a plate of pirogies and a beer.

The spinach and feta dumplings app are great and I loved the duck entree. It was a little salty and dry but it's duck so to be expected, ha! The pork Wiener schnitzel was ok, but I believe they have much better entrées on the menu. Staff is very friendly, good service.

Wow! A friend brought us here for typical Polish food. The menu variety was amazing and everything we ordered was great. The tartar was very fresh and tasty. The potato pancake with beef was delicious. The gigantic pork knuckle was moist and tender and served with amazing sweet and sour sauerkraut. Service is a little dry but good. The decor is very typical and cozy and very well done. Prices are reasonable.

Lovely outdoor dining with wood patio and quaint seating. Indoors was beautiful as well with expected European charm and.character. The beef steak (tenderloin) was cooked perfectly and vegetables were delicious. Riojo wine from Spain was perfect for the meal. I would return when in the area again.

inside seating - they also have a nice outdoor patio

Yes, it is a bit touristy but it was soooo good and honestly a bit of traditional polish keech never hurt anyone. It is a great place to go and share dishes so on my own I was a bit limited. I had the sausages to start and then the pierogi sample. It was definitely too much for one person but I loved being able to sample the different pierogi. The price is totally reasonable too.

I think you can find much better authentic Polish food. My Grandma lives a few blocks from here, knock on her door and slip her $50 złoty and she'll cool you a feast. The food is ok and you can certainly have a good time here. If you do come here get the Tatar and several shots of vodka and you'll be good.

This is another overdue review (I've been off social media for a few months, so excuse the lateness). I was here on vacation Feb 2018. If you're from the US, this restaurant is upscale and affordable. We ordered the meat platter to share, mixed pierogis, and split a serving of duck. The duck was not great: the sauce was sweet and it was over-cooked. But the meats were out of this world. If you go, order a bunch of different meals and split them. The appetizers in particular are delicious. They also have a good assortment of beers.

Our colleagues, translator and guide, was from Poland, but no Warsaw. So we happen upon Zapiecek, and we're not disappointed. It was an almost 11pm when we decided it was time to find some food on this work trip and first time to Poland. So I wanted something of local taste. So my colleague suggested the pierogi. Now forgive me for not remembering the fillings, or the sauce, but the memories of just enjoying the flavors is still with me that I tried to find similar taste here in the States and have not found a place yet. From what I remember the staff were friendly and the setting was quiet and comfortable. So I do have fond memories of dining at Zapiecek, and would go again. So enjoy...

The dim-lit ambiance, the dark wood accents and white tablecloth gives that formal yet cozy environment and with that, comes an exquisite menu that will leave you with a very pleasant and memorable experience. Reservations are highly recommended which I did have so check-in was a breeze. The waitress was very knowledgeable with the wine list and menu items which was extremely helpful when deciding among the various delicious sounding items on the menu. I heard that the Steak Tartare is a must here so I ordered that and to my delight, it's the best steak tartare I've had in all of Poland. It's prepared table-side from a very charismatic chef which added to the excitement and enjoyment of trying this tasty item. The Beef Wellington was also a delight. The buttery and slightly crisp puff pastry melts in your mouth along NG with the tender and juicy beef in which the demi-glace adds additional flavor to the already mouth-watering profile. Just pure gloriousness. The Bluefin Tuna was the final item I tried and the tender, fresh and scrumptious flavor of the tuna paired with the black truffle, avocado, artichoke and teriyaki sauce...so good. I unfortunately did not have enough room for dessert but wow I watched the items pass by me landing at other tables and I was so wanting to try one of them but not one single bite more of anything could've fit in my stomach. That's why there's always a next time :)

Served with a sprinkle of maraschino cherries on top, which was a little unexpected but fun. - Dumplings: We tried both of their options, meat and potato cheese. These were good and very filling. - Fried pork chop: Pounded thin and fried, man that was good. - Cole slaw: Purple cabbage, creamy dressing with a hint of horseradish I'd say. - Pickles: Large bowl of medium-small cucumbers, nice and crisp. The food was amazing, and as I usually request, he made sure my dish was gluten free. I had the deer ragout, which was delightful.
