I ordered 9 boiled pierogis each with different fillings. I enjoyed the taste of everything ordered. The service was slow to take my order. We waited about 15 minutes after seating before our drink order was taken. I thought the meal was a bit pricey. It's a popular restaurant in a prime tourist area, so the slow service and priciness are not surprising.

This gem of a restaurant sits in the perfect location in Old Town Warsaw. It is decorated in both old and new polish design. It is just a joy to lounge and have a drink. The food was also spectacular. I absolutely love Polish pierogis and my husband and I ordered the boiled raspberry and cheese with sweet cream. So amazing! We also enjoyed two soup dishes and a warm fruit tea. I am so happy we gave this authentic restaurant a try. I would love to come back and try out other numerous dishes.

When in Warsaw I always stop by Zapiecek for the split pea soup and pork knuckle. I can saw that it's the best split pea soup I have ever had...Even better than Andersen's in California. Not only are the prices great, but the food, service and ambiance matches. The split pea soup comes with bread and presented over a burning candle so that it remains hot. Pieces of bacon are in the soup and what else? A split sausage that is grilled before placing in the soup. For around $4 USD, that's a meal in itself. The pork knuckle comes in small, medium and large from 400g to 600g. With the soup, I opted for the small version at 400g. Cooked to perfection and fall off the bone meat, this is one tasty dish. Served over a bed of sour cabbage and two sides of mustard & horseradish. Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Bathrooms: 7/10 Food: 9/10 Cleanliness: 9/10 Value: 10/10 Would I return? ALWAYS!

Fried Perogi with meat and cabbage, pots to dumpling with mushroom gravy. Goulash with potato pancakes. Sounds so elementary. And it is certainly substantial. But the execution here is so robust and wholesome that the experience is deeply satisfying. Perfect to fortify a night in the town or after drinks. Or to warm up a chilly evening. Three branches in old town for your convenience. Servers take good care of you in bright red polish dresses. The restaurant has a playful vibe. All for about US$10-15 a person... priceless

Came here a few weeks ago while I was on vacation. I was super excited to try some authentic polish perogis. My polish friend tells me the word "perogi" is plural already but just saying the word "perogi" to refer to a plate full of those guys seems unnatural. Perogis it is. What are you gonna do about it?!?! There was another one of these restaurants with the same name right outside of my hostel but it looked really full so I came ova hea'. The outside portion of this establishment is literally down a dark alley. Fear not bc I'm a hot, skinny, young (if 27 is still considered young) female and I survived so you should be ok. I sat down next to these two dudes that spoke to the waitress in English so I figured they weren't from Poland. I ordered a huge sangria and I meant to order the....shit, I can't even remember, I think cheese perogis. Waitress also sold me on a side of green beans. Fiber and probably some good vitamins and minerals and shit (autocorrect changed shit to hair, I'm sitting in a meeting I should be paying attention to and I literally just burst out laughing. I had to put the phone down and stop for a sec....that would be GROSS and there was no hair that I recall). I started talking to those dudes next to me and low and behold they're from Budapest, where I was headed next so I got some good info. Thank GOD bc there is no wifi here. Might actually be the first restaurant I went-second actually-that I went to in Europe that doesn't have wifi. What gives?! The sangria is good and more importantly, very large. I believe I ordered a beer after I finished it though bc you know they stuff that glass up with ice. All the food was super tasty, the sauce they give you for the pierogis was DUMB good. I wasn't given sauce at any of the other places I visited so maybe that's a special thing thato ccurs at this place. Additionally, the menu has huge pictures of shit on it. Makes it easier to order but it also reminds me of applebee's. If you live in poland you might not know what i'm talking about. If you live in poland you might not understand this review bc it's in english. Speaking of english, my waitress actually spoke it pretty well, I would say the communication issues were minimal. To summarize the food was amazing and just for that and the huge pictures of shit on the menu I'd come back but I'll probably never be in Poland again so I probably won't go back. Byebye

**Note: did not order traditional meat pierogi. The pierogi were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. We tried the turkey and carrot, the ruskie, and the cabbage and champignon pierogi. We also had the beet root soup, the chicken noodle soup, and the fried dumplings. Everyone's favorite was the fried dumpling, which is basically like a Polish tater tot, and is overshadowed by the delicious mushroom cream sauce you can get with it. The prices were modest, around $30 USD for 9 pierogi, an order of fried dumplings, two soups, and three drinks. Service was fast and staff were kind and spoke English. Overall, seems like a tourist trap or a "fast food" pierogi joint.

My husband and I ate here on the patio, and it was a pretty good experience. This restaurant is one of SEVERAL around old town, and they always seem busy. Prices were ever so slightly higher than other restaurants, but still reasonable. We both ordered soups - me the sour rye, him the beet root. Both soups were the best we'd had around Poland. We then had a fried pierogi platter and potato dumplings with blue cheese sauce. The food was great - tender pierogi, a delicious bacon/onion gravy, the potato dumplings were delicious and had great texture. Service was a bit slow outside, and left a little to be desired, but overall a good experience.

Came here twice! Super yummy. Boiled is definitely how I like my pirogies. Sour rye soup paired well. The creamy potato pancake was good but a little to heavy for my likings. Big portions so a good place to share and taste traditional polish food. Also the best polish beer I had on my trip came from here it was the unfiltered one and it was AMAZING.

Great food for cheap price! I got the pork knuckle and sour rye soup which is a traditional food here in Poland and Zapiecek did not disappoint. The pork knuckle was well made and very flavorful. I enjoyed the pickled cabbage underneath as well. My friend got 9 dumplings (minimum) with different flavors. She enjoyed the soft skin and her favorite was the spinach and cheese pierogi. The waitresses in very cute uniforms were very friendly and attentive. The ambience of the restaurant was quite cozy and homey.

Not bad at all! I ate here one of my first nights in Warsaw and got some quite delicious perogies and żurek here. the żurek really was quite irresistible...the perogies were just okay. The atmosphere definitely was geared towards the tourists and was extremely traditional. But given its location, this was necessary and set them apart from some of the other places. The wait staff was incredibly efficient and skilled in English. Would definitely recommend to a person from out of town looking for some traditional Polish foods.

    Blueberry. Fried. And boiled.

Our colleagues, translator and guide, was from Poland, but no Warsaw. So we happen upon Zapiecek, and we're not disappointed. It was an almost 11pm when we decided it was time to find some food on this work trip and first time to Poland. So I wanted something of local taste. So my colleague suggested the pierogi. Now forgive me for not remembering the fillings, or the sauce, but the memories of just enjoying the flavors is still with me that I tried to find similar taste here in the States and have not found a place yet. From what I remember the staff were friendly and the setting was quiet and comfortable. So I do have fond memories of dining at Zapiecek, and would go again. So enjoy...

The dim-lit ambiance, the dark wood accents and white tablecloth gives that formal yet cozy environment and with that, comes an exquisite menu that will leave you with a very pleasant and memorable experience. Reservations are highly recommended which I did have so check-in was a breeze. The waitress was very knowledgeable with the wine list and menu items which was extremely helpful when deciding among the various delicious sounding items on the menu. I heard that the Steak Tartare is a must here so I ordered that and to my delight, it's the best steak tartare I've had in all of Poland. It's prepared table-side from a very charismatic chef which added to the excitement and enjoyment of trying this tasty item. The Beef Wellington was also a delight. The buttery and slightly crisp puff pastry melts in your mouth along NG with the tender and juicy beef in which the demi-glace adds additional flavor to the already mouth-watering profile. Just pure gloriousness. The Bluefin Tuna was the final item I tried and the tender, fresh and scrumptious flavor of the tuna paired with the black truffle, avocado, artichoke and teriyaki sauce...so good. I unfortunately did not have enough room for dessert but wow I watched the items pass by me landing at other tables and I was so wanting to try one of them but not one single bite more of anything could've fit in my stomach. That's why there's always a next time :)
