if you're looking for a more formal dining experience, Soul Kitchen is a restaurant to to be overlooked. The dim-lit ambiance, the dark wood accents and white tablecloth gives that formal yet cozy environment and with that, comes an exquisite menu that will leave you with a very pleasant and memorable experience. Reservations are highly recommended which I did have so check-in was a breeze. The waitress was very knowledgeable with the wine list and menu items which was extremely helpful when deciding among the various delicious sounding items on the menu. I heard that the Steak Tartare is a must here so I ordered that and to my delight, it's the best steak tartare I've had in all of Poland. It's prepared table-side from a very charismatic chef which added to the excitement and enjoyment of trying this tasty item. The Beef Wellington was also a delight. The buttery and slightly crisp puff pastry melts in your mouth along NG with the tender and juicy beef in which the demi-glace adds additional flavor to the already mouth-watering profile. Just pure gloriousness. The Bluefin Tuna was the final item I tried and the tender, fresh and scrumptious flavor of the tuna paired with the black truffle, avocado, artichoke and teriyaki sauce...so good. I unfortunately did not have enough room for dessert but wow I watched the items pass by me landing at other tables and I was so wanting to try one of them but not one single bite more of anything could've fit in my stomach. We had the most pleasant meal here at Soul Kitchen! We were able to walk in as soon as they opened at 6 to grab a table. Our server was very nice, and the ambiance is great- white tablecloth and dim lighting really sets the tone. For our meal we had the beef Wellington, steak, pork rib, asparagus, fries, and mashed potatoes. All of which were delicious! The beef Wellington stood out as the favorite- it was beautifully prepared. My only comment on the meal is the avocado sauce under the ribs was surprisingly sweet, not my taste but the meat was tender and juicy. Was worried this was going to be a "tourist trap" style restaurant, but pleasantly surprised it was not. Yes, it is very popular with tourists. But the food was good. Beef tartare was a delight, being prepared tableside. So too was the half duck (enough to share between two if you also order a side, and a starter each). Chanterelles as a starter was also excellent, and a highlight. All three dishes were impressive. Then there is the romantic setting, with dim lighting and white tablecloths. Service was warm. And then there was the best thing. Love piano music and singing, on a Saturday evening. Prices are above average for Warsaw, but not out of line with other restaurants with good food. Little did we know when we booked a table at 19.00 on an August Tuesday evening that we'd be dining in luxury. Located along the tram line, Soul Kitchen was an incredible dining experience. Here's why. 1) Food: Every dish was cooked with care and some is prepared right at your table by the chef. To feed my wife, six-year-old daughter, and I, we ordered a basket of break (it comes with whipped butter, beans, and garlic and chive olive oil), the schnitzel, and risotto. Portions are big and every dish had full flavor. For dessert, we ordered a slice of pavlova from the dessert cart. 2) Drinks: Their wine list is large. We ordered two glasses of orange wine from France. It was refreshing! 3) Service: Professional without being stiff. The food was absolutely delicious and was some of the best I've had during my recent trip to Poland. Honestly, there really is no bad option on their menu. MAKE SURE TO GET A RESERVATION - this place is always busy no matter what time of day you come here. I especially loved how they have a live jazz pianist who plays on a piano inside the restaurant for your entertainment - this definitely adds to the intimate environment a little more. Despite how this restaurant may be considered more high-end, the prices here are certainly still cheaper than what you'd find in the United States or Canada. The Soul Kitchen is a polish traditional restaurant with modern twist and deep soul. We came first time without reservation but there was no seatings available for that day so we had to make the reservation for the day after. It was even better since warmer weather made outside seating very pleasurable. Our server was amazing and funny, wish all the servers such a great approach. I guess the food changes occasionally on the menu but they have their staples in the menu. One of them is beef tartare, very well combined, tender and with perfect meat quality. We also too Pierogis with Veal served with chantrelle sauce. Those I must admit were delicious and savory, the sauce was a blast. Third position was a Goose stomachs in wine sauce with lima beans and sorel. The were so tender and most likely the best we ever tried, combination with sauce made the dish so rich in flavor. We would definitely repeat this one on e day. We finished with Veal Escalope which was another great dish , very comforting and flavorful. I have to admit that Soul Kitchen made our evening dinner a perfect one with great bottle of white wine from Polish winery. Worth the reservation! Best food found in Warsaw. Zucchini pancake starter was perfect, we also had the duck dumplings which were good. The veal schnitzel was juicy, tender with a great balance of flavors with the egg and mashed potatoes. The beef cheeks were so tender, the fresh horseradish was a great finish and there was bok choy under the beef that was incredible. We also had the duck with red cabbage, beautifully roasted and tender. Stuffed for sure but we could not pass up an amazing vanilla cheesecake and milk chocolate mousse, both were exceptional. The service was near perfect, all of the waiters were professional and helpful. The restaurant is beautiful and simple, perfect for family or out with friends. Stumbled upon this restaurant one night walking around near our hotel. It's a small space and we didn't have reservations, but they found us a table and had very prompt, efficient service. The waiters were very nice and the food was fantastic. A great experience from start to finish. I immediately wanted to try the burrata with halva and young eggplant. The table next to us had ordered bread and it looked amazing so we ordered that as well. Next I had the raspberry tomato soup. For mains we had ordered duck which the chef prepares in front of you and risotto. The risotto was very heavy and mushroom filled it would have been better in a smaller portion as a starter. We did not have a reservation (I recommend getting one), but the host was able to accommodate us at the bar, which we tend to prefer anyway. The service--from the host, to the wait staff, to the chef (prepared the duck table-side), to the bartender--was tremendous. I ordered prosecco and the waiter kindly offered a Polish sparkling wine done in the champagne style to try instead. It was delicious and I stuck with that for the night. My husband had wine and then switched to their Old Fashioned, which he enjoyed. We started with the tuna tartar with caviar. Yum. We then had the risotto and the duck and we both enjoyed our meals. I really loved the risotto. I also enjoyed the red cabbage served with my husband's duck. Now to the desserts. SO. GOOD. I couldn't decide between the pavlova and the cheesecake, so the waiter gave me both to try. I was so glad I got the opportunity to try both of them. I've never had pavlova before (always see them making it on GBBO) and it was delicious. The berry compote/jam in the center was really good and broke up all the sugar from the merengue. Streetside was quiet and fun people watching. Every staff member that we encountered A: spoke great English; B: was so friendly and efficient. There was a general camaraderie. The food was very good. We even had the rare dessert (lemon tart) because it looked so good. My fish special had a tomato ragu that was a little more sweet than my tastes, but I think this is very Polish. As I peered down into this basement dining room , I could hear the piano music coming up the stairs.
