Well, I guess this is partially my fault. I decided to celebrate with a great meal on my first trip to Warsaw. So I splurged for the "Taster's Menu". And took the waiter's advice on pairings, but ordered a glass of champagne without asking the price. I think I would have been happy with everything, even at the highest price paid in Warsaw for a meal in history. Except the fish course was BAD. And why am I paying big money for codfish anyway? My first bite of the "Fish course" was horrible! Ammonia!! That only means one thing right? That now my entire experience is ruined. I should have just stopped right there, and asked to be given a refund. But I let them bring the other courses. My appetite was ruined, and so was my trust in the kitchen.
Ack!!! Even so, I remember my favorite dishes were the fois gras and the mushroom soup. Also the dessert was better than it looked. There are a lot of "fussy" small portions. I would tell you, yes. Eat here, but avoid the fish and the shrimp. Go for the fois gras and order off the menu. Be careful if you are on s budget to ask the price of the wines. This terrible experience cost me 400 Polish currency. Thats around $100 US. Which in Poland, is a lot to pay for a single meal, much less spoiled fish. 2 stars given for great service. 0 stars for the food experience tonight. read more
