They recently opened their business last month. They have Rice/Noodle Bowls, Banh mi wraps, Soups and Salads. Five simple choices! Next you pick your protein etc.,You get the idea. Guess what I'm curious about? The banh mi wrap and Rice/Noodle Bowls. Do you like Banh mi? Me too! Its just dressed differently. But my favorite among both is the Rice noodle bowl with brown rice, carrots, broccoli and my protein? Braised Pork! Jackpot! This is tender and so tasty! I also had chicken added to my bowl. Its good too but pales in comparison to the star braised pork. The Banh mi had Steak as protein with noodles. Order this too! So good! For drinks, I had a this canned Thai Tea. So good! For that quick meal that is not burger or pizza, this is an awesome alternative. I have been to this location several times and I m still bit confused with ordering. However, I'm always happy with what I ended up getting. By the way, very friendly staff. This restaurant is clean, well laid out and got lots of seating, including spacious patios. I ended up getting soba noodles (has bits of cabbage) with chicken as protein. After that you can add additional toppings and sauce. I got the broccoli, corn and carrots with diakon. Topped with delicious sauce called chili with lemon grass. Yummy. Finally signed up for their reward program and got 40 points for this purchase. It's definitely a great alternative to Panda Express. Also, they were pretty focused on online orders to the extent that you wonder if it's still acceptable to place your order in person. Got ignored for a while and they said they were "busy". Here's a tip to the business owner: make it a policy to have at least one person taking care of customers who walk in. Totally unacceptable to prioritize online orders before in person customers. The noodles are just awful here. As I said....CHEWY like spaghetti that should be cooked about 8 minutes longer. Gave this place another try after the last mediocre experience. Such a disappointment. Zao (this location and Hampden location) have been consistent in both service and quality. As if to say that people who work there don't have the work "disappoint" in their dictionary. This has been my go-to place for Asian fast food when I'm in a hurry. The fact that what they put into your bowl upon request is convenient as those vending machines seen in Japan, as long as you like the type of food they serve, you feel like you can always get food from this navigating through your daily hectic schedule. This place also offers inflation fighting prices. The bowl I got today was $11 with some change. And it's quite r the volume! I wonder how long they will keep what they currently doing to serve quality food with friendly prices. I haven't conquered the whole menu and yet it won't be long until I get to taste everything that they offer. The restaurant is also immaculately spotless no matter when. Curiosity wins! So it all started with a coworker's lunch. I was walking by and saw her enjoying something I had never seen before so I asked her where she got it and she said, "Zao off Cottonwood!" I knew I had to go. When I arrived at Zao I was unsure what I saw at work but described it in 10 words-- it was green, had steak, and other yummy ingredients inside! The register person said, "Oh, you want the bahn mi wrap!" Let's do this! They let me choose ingredients so it was loaded with steak, rice, carrots, cucumbers, jalapeños, and sauces. I left a two in the tip jar and the cashier mentioned he collected coins and bills! When I said that I did too and that I like the older eagle quarters he gave me an older 92 quarter! I found a seat with a simply spectacular view! I felt like an emperor on a hill. I took a bite and started to smile. Then took a second and third bite, and by the fourth it was Zaoabunga!! The combination of flavors and ingredients in this wrap definitely pop! When business slowed on the line the staff hustled and kept the seating area spotless. The kitchen was also spotless, which is difficult to do on a busy line. A gentleman came out and took my basket and foil and asked me how I liked it. Loved it! I've had the rice and noodle bowls, but my go to is the tofu tacos with all the fixings. Additionally, their passion-aid fresca is fabulous. My only complaint is that it is not close to my home. They also did a nice job keeping the restaurant clean and tidy, not an easy thing when it's busy. The menu offers lots of gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options...thank you, Zao! The food is fresh, original, and tasty! The options are varied but not overwhelming and Zao has all the bases covered. You can choose between bowls, tacos, salads, or banh mi wraps. Bowl bases are lettuce, rices (brown and white), and noodles. The proteins were fantastic and included chicken, steak, tofu, chicken meatballs, and vegetarian. I recommend the steak because it was tender and well seasoned. The meatballs were a different option to the typical proteins and they were great. Next you select sauces and fixings. I recommend the yellow curry for its hint of heat, but zesty freshness. Keep adding the toppings and you'll love how everything on the menu just work's together. Unreal the service here. No one really seems to give a darn here, unless the owner is around it seems. Tonight, I placed an order to go. Arrived at the time our email says. The "manager" says they are sorry and need to Make white rice. Seems insane how a rice restaurant doesn't have white rice readily available/always being made. But OK we obliged and decided to wait another 30 minutes, which is the time he said it Would Take. After the time stated we go back up and we ask what is going on and they inform us they don't even have any rice in the building. At which point of course we were frustrated. Why would you have us stay an extra 30 minutes when you knew you could never complete our order. It was ridiculous. The manager on duty on 2/13 has no business being in that role. He kept blaming other people for his issues instead of owning them and being fourth coming. Not sure we will be back. Super frustrating. I recommend taking your business elsewhere read more

The veggies were seasoned well and not over cook. My only recommendation is to have the rice noodles strained a bit more. It made the bottom of my bowl a little watery. I really enjoyed my bánh mì wrap. This place should be looked at as an Asian food chipotle. So you pick what you're gonna get whether it be a wrap, salad, soup, I believe there's a bowl and there's tacos as an option... there may be more. I got a steak bánh mi wrap. The steak was tender and delicious, I chose to add noodles instead of rice, and all the bánh me toppings with the sauces all in a spinach wrap. It was absolutely delectable! My son got a soup which was chicken broth, but you can also choose a beef broth, not sure if there was a veggie broth option. He added noodles and all the toppings he wanted. The bowl was massive and he left full and happy. He didn't get meat but you can choose to put a proteins in your soup too. He really enjoyed it. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from Zao, much to my chagrin, it's a fast casual Asian fusion restaurant. Ok! I made the rookie mistake of coming to this shopping center at lunch time on Sunday (aka prime time for churchies to get stuff done after service). The parking lot was completely full since it sits next to Paris Baguette and Trader Joe's so I parked in the parking lot next to the center. It's a made to order line like Chipotle and they have a few options....bowl, salad, tacos, soup and wrap with various protein options. I got the banh Mi wrap with steak and rice noodles (can also get yakisoba noodles or rice). Maybe the workers were feeling the churchy vibes....friendly and helpful they were not. When asked what I wanted it in my wrap, a younger man said "zao way?" with no explaining so I just went along. Turns out it's the works with sauce, fillings, etc. It was just a little odd. Taste was good, execution was not. I thought they were going to cut it and they didn't which is fine but then I couldn't find a knife. It was loosely put together so it kept falling apart so thank goodness for forks (and clean hands!) They have Coke products which is always an added bonus. I may try to stop here again when it's less busy and hopefully the workers will be less frazzled. Sit outside unless you want to hear everything as well. read more

Recently I went here and the workers were extremely rude and snarky especially the Girl at the register that looked like Darla from Finding Nemo. The food would've been a 3/10 if there was more than a kids meal serving size on a mission tortilla. The atmosphere was a 2/10 the workers were very rude, while the owners were nice the overall was terrible. Not the mention the absolute robbery it is to charge nearly 14 dollars for some of the most lackluster dry and vile things that have ever been my mouth. Took me way too long to finally try this! A little far from where I live but I kept hearing such great things. I got a yakisoba noodle bowl with chicken and tofu. Wasn't sure which sauce to get so they let me try them all. Ultimately I went with both the yellow and green curry and I couldn't have been more pleased! A perfect savory mixture of spicy and salty. The ingredients were fresh and everything was wonderfully seasoned. The noodles were **chefs kiss**. I also really loved the ambiance. A lot of "bar seating" facing outside which was such a vibe. Great addition to the Parker area for fast casual eating. The food is fresh and delicious and the service friendly and quick. We've been here twice already and both times the experience was excellent and we ordered the same meal both the times. I really enjoyed the salad, the portion was so large I could barely finish it. One time with the chicken and one time with the tofu. Can't go wrong with either protein. My husband got the wrap, which is also similarly large portioned. Don't forget to get one of the fresh limeades! The mango one is my favorite. read more
