The drinks are reasonably priced and there is always a good selection, in the bar area you can order a pizza which is cooked fresh there and then and they serve the delicious pizza right into the early hours, it's a popular after work, after gig/theatre bar and it is without doubt my favourite bar in Bristol - I hope that in 20 years time I'm still eating pizza and drinking pints of cider in Renatos

With a…read morereally nice atmosphere and fairly cheap prices, open fire in the winter and walls entirely adorned with theatre posters or signed photos of various actors from over the years, this is an excellent bar/restaurant which is really worth a look in. I've frequented it many times, perhaps a few too many whilst I was still at college, and the late night pizzas really are quite a selling point - all night they'll serve the traditional and very high quality pizzas to their gradually drunker clientelle. You can take your pick with seating - there's a comfy room with sofas, and the aforementioned fire, to the left of the bar, or else the main room with the poster wallpapered walls has tables, chairs and benches. Without fail getting a seat is always a bit of an art when I've been here, but that's more part of Renatos' charm rather than a failing. Come here more than once and you'll see the same staff - it's a closely run family business. They also own the restaurant across the road (which has the same name), which is a far more traditional restaurant affair and has a wider variety on the menu than just pizza. Both sides of the road are a must.

Vincenzo's was high on my list of Italian restaurants for a long time. A friend introduced it to…read moreme, describing it as a strange, quirky place that you either really like or dislike. I walked in here, and I most definitely liked. The walls were stuck with hundreds of postcards, and there were what looked like rattan wine canisters almost completely covering the ceiling. The postcards are most fascinating things to look at while you're sitting there waiting for your food. These touches give the place such character. The menu here is so vast - they do pastas, pizzas, fish, chicken, veal, steaks and salads! Something for everyone! Their starter of Calamari Alla Giuliana; squid in a tomato, peppers & chilli sauce was something I liked, but their Calamari Fritti; deep fried squid was rather chewy and not so nice. Their pizzas are good too, they are quite big and you can size them up by ordering any of them as a Familiare, which are 12 to 14 inches! This place continued being my favourite Italian, until one day I ordered the Risotto Vegetariano and was so disappointed when I took my first bite. Weirdly, the rice they used wasn't risotto rice, but just plain rice. I ate my meal in confusion and should have asked them about it but I somehow didn't. Since that day I haven't been back there, because I can't understand why an Italian restaurant would serve me risotto, that wasn't risotto. Still good for pizzas and the rest of the grub though. Just maybe don't order the risotto.

Vincenzos is a great place for a romantic meal as the intimate environment and gentle local music will put you in the mood for love (as well as the wine that your waiter will keep flowing). The pizzas come with all manner of toppings so there's bound to be something to suit everyone. Just make sure you save room for desert - because one look at the menu and you'll know it's not something you want to miss.

Our order was taken very quickly and I was impressed by the range of dishes on the menu; it is definitely a cut above the usual Italian restaurant fare. I had the Fregula di Frutti di Mare to start, which was not at all the seafood soup that I was expecting but more like a watery risotto. It was a bit too creamy for my taste and I wished they'd mentioned that on the menu, but there we are. For mains I thought I had ordered a penne with squid ink sauce, but when it came I was dismayed to find that I'd actually ordered something that was covered in cheese and cream sauce, which being lactose intolerant I just couldn't eat. However, after my profuse apologies for mis-reading the menu, they very quickly replaced it with the squid ink number (it was the spaghetti, not the penne!) so full marks to them for doing that. I liked the ambience of the place too, from the clichéd wax-encrusted wine bottle candle holders to the quirky decorative touches and pictures. I'll keep this place bookmarked for my next visit to Bristol.

Since it was just coming up to 5:30 pm we were absolutely fine with that time limitation! We started off with a half Garlic-bread and half-cheese starter. Really liked this, especially the cheese used. Also got a bottle of the house red and then I got the pancetta pizza (substituting olives for corn), my brother got the 4 seasons pizza and then the other two people in our group got Pasta. Since at that time we were the only ones at the restaurant, food came out super quick and we all just inhaled it. I am so glad I substituted the olives for the corn, as the olives used had a lovely taste! The ham used on my brother's pizza was also super delicious. The pizza crust was just the right amount of crispy and well risen dough. I enjoyed the sweet tangy taste of the BBQ sauce used in the pancetta pizza very much and we all just totally polished off the food, however pizza size is massive enough that 2 not very hungry people can totally split it. Total 5 stars however reserved for their Tiramisu- in one word: YUM! It was perfection and I'd come back here again just for that treat - rich, creamy and decadent with each bite being super delicious. Service was friendly and so not sure why they aren't rated higher on Yelp. We almost decided not to go cause of the indifferent yelp reviews, but hunger won out and super glad we went in the end, as no complaints about the food or service. Total bill for the 4 of us was £100 and change (included a 10% service charge) and we thought that was pretty decent as we'd had a 3 course meal plus a bottle of wine. I'd definitely return for the Tiramisu! Note - Banksy's Love Cheat is located on the side of the building right next to this restaurant! Yelp 166/ 2019
