Our 1st dinner ! Super delish- caught of the day ! Grilled grouper well seasoned, grilled zucchini, cauliflower, carrots , mixed rice. Service was overlooking the beach ! Dessert cross between cheesecake & flan with guava!

They were not honoring reservations although we were told they were required. There was just one long line formed regardless of what time you showed up. The appetizers were all outstanding! My daughter has both peanut and shellfish allergies, so they were very attentive and prepared her a separate dish for the tortilla chips which had been cooked in the same oils as shellfish. The entrees were delicious and beautifully plated.

Across the board an excellent restaurant. While staying at Villa del Palmar, my family and I got real acquainted with this restaurant as it's the only sit-down restaurant open for lunch. No worries, though, they have a different menu for dinner. Worked well for us because both the lunch and dinner were great. All the ingredients were fresh. Standouts are definitely the guacamole, shrimp nachos, carnitas (my absolute favorite) and the veggie fajitas. We tried nearly every dessert and the best is the chocolate tamal. Very cool twist on the tamal. In the "corn husk" is a warm flourless chocolate cake. It pairs perfectly with the coffee ice cream-- in fact, I ended up asking for two scoops. The restaurant is also situated in the middle of the resort and is easy to access. Seating is bountiful and you can enjoy ocean and pool views of your choosing.

We ate at this restaurant immediately after arriving to the resort. As with most all inclusive the food can be less than appetizing; we were pleasantly surprised with the flavors and seasoning of the dishes. The octopus wasn't chewy but very tender. While visiting the resort Zama became our go to lunch spot. I definitely recommend the soft shelled crab appetizer.

Great Mexican restaurant at Villa del Palmar. We usually come here for lunch when staying at the resort. The ambiance is great thanks to the Mayan architecture. Nothing better to start a lunch with a tequila or mezcal based cocktail. This restaurant has a great bartender. The food is very nice and well prepared, with a large variety of classical dishes including ceviche and tostadas as appetizers, as well as a good selection of tacos and quesadillas. The main courses range from burgers and grilled meats to seafood dishes. My personal favorites are the soft shell crab and the Tikin Xic fish, which both make for an excellent lunch. And the traditional flan as dessert with an espresso is to die for. The service is very friendly and efficient.

They have moved locations since the last time we were here, but it's just as amazing if not better! GREAT service! Amazing position to the beach. Perfectly spicy margaritas and the fish tacos hit the spot!

EXCELENTE !!!!! Phenomenal service , freshest ingredients , reasonable prices! From beginning to end this was a pleasant surprise. We arrived to the resort early and had time to spare before our room was ready so we ventured to Zama. We enjoyed every item ordered! Ceviche , tostada mujeres, fried beef, fish and onion ring churro. We ended with espresso And we had virgin mojitos . No complaints whatsoever. Try zama if you're in town .

Food is delicious here. Service is a bit slow, but you're in Cancun so it's all chill. Like Kenny Cheney says, "I've got nowhere to go and nowhere to be" so life is good. Recommendations: Soft shelled crab Grilled octopus for dinner Octopus salad for lunch Zama burger Louis our server for Lunch is the best. Very attentive and friendly.

Ruben is ä great server. The manager, Jose is awesome. We ordered the pork hank & hubby loved the flavor & the super tenderness. I ordered an off the menu traditional Mayan favorite, Molcajete w/shrimp. Very tasty. The table near us ordered the "Sexy coffee" (see video) & we're coming back to have it ourselves.

Food is great service is amazing! I tried the short ribs and they were very delicious, also there beans and salsa was very tasty. Very clean and relaxing environment, food comes in short time. I would suggest everyone to try their food. Their desserts didn't impress me. But service was great, waitresses were very attentive and courteous.

I like this place a lot honestly. I got the lamb plate and it was a really good serving size and priced fairly. I got a couple sides as well and they all tasted good.

Great Vegan Options - Excellent tacos and tostadas.

There are around 20 different restaurants or so in the resort, and with so many options, it was a bit difficult for me to try all of them, especially since several require reservations or have limited operating hours. Capricho is hands down one of the best spots in the resort for breakfast and brunch with an extensive à la carte menu as well as a self-serve buffet area. Walk-ins are accepted and the service was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the huevos rancheros; however, there are both American and Mexican staple dishes on the menu. Food came out hot and the fried tortillas were still crispy, even when lathered in the red salsa. Pros: Friendly service and meals freshly made to order. The juice bars available in the self-serve area are phenomenal. The deli section with different meat and cheese selections is also a must-try. Cons: None

Maybe I had a misconception of what true Mexican food is because they menu didn't have anything I recognized. They menu options were very small (all inclusive resorts tend to give small servings). I ordered chicken with mole which came with rice. I asked my waiter if I could order retried beans (what Mexican restaurant doesn't have fujoles). He said they didn't have any. Mexican corn was on the menu as an appetizer. All out. No special orders. Only what's on the menu and nothing else. I am a travel club member here and I'm a little disappointed we couldn't order tacos or make substitutions. We went and ate again after due to the really small portions. Cute place tho.

She was walking us a little towards the back, but since it was my first time to Isla, I wanted to people-watch, so I asked about a table up front. As soon as we headed over, I saw why she passed it - it was right next to the saxophone player! Thank goodness his volume level was perfect! Just loud enough to be heard over the crowds walking down the 'lane' out front and the restaurant diners' chatting. But not so loud that we 3 couldn't chat. We loved it! Now these two can EAT - and love to try everything on the menu, whereas I tend to eat smaller portions. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were fantastic - huge pieces of shrimp, so good! The lobster mac n cheese is so good, I would have loved to bring a big container of it home with me! The restaurant is very busy but very clean and tables are well organized for maneuvering a quick trip to the restroom before leaving. Our server, Maylen was attentive and pleasant. The bar area, facing the street, looked like a lot of fun, I'll have to try it next time!
