Beware: they're weasels about pricing Bought a small pair of earrings for my daughter recently. The price was $160, displayed prominently on the little card they were on. I said I'd take them. The sales associate tried to charge me $200. When I protested, she smiled smugly, turned the holder over and showed me a higher price on the back of it. I told her they had to give me the lower displayed price. Then she said, oh, let me see if I can give you a discount. She did something with the computer system and suddenly the price dropped below $160! So the item was on sale, she lied about it, and tried to charge me a bogus price. I had such a great experience with Tina. I have been coming here for years. Bought both my sons engraved graduation rings, pieces for myself and my upgraded wedding rings after 15 years of marriage. I have always worked with Yarely and she is amazing. It was so nice to work with Tina as well. She was so helpful and welcoming. If I could give a zero I would. The girls here are extremely rude and unprofessional. Their store hours said they opened at 10 but while I was standing at the door waiting to be let in they stood in the back and talked and could clearly see I was there. 20 minutes later they snootily walked over to the door and flicked the lock open and walked back to what they were doing. When I came in they were giving major attitude that I wanted to return a ring and upgrade it for something else. They would give zero credit even though I bought the ring there. Zales has for the most part been my go to for my jewelry needs. We used to work with Jesse the manager at Valley Fair then livermore. He always was super attentive and welcoming. He's a veteran just like us and always acknowledged our military service. Since he is no longer with Zales we decided to try this one here in Gilroy. We were definitely disappointed with the service. When we walked in there was not even one customer and we received 1/2 of a welcome. The young gal that helped us was clearly new. So we extended alot of patience since we've all been new at some point in time. But the process went as slow as molasses! I had her do a ring inspection for the ring I previously bought there and wanted to look into purchasing another. It took her at least 25 minutes for this when historically it takes about 5 minutes. When we asked about the differences in diamond types, she did not know. When we asked about prices she had a common response, "welllllllll, I'm not sure" and "I think". We came in motivated to make a large purchase and left disappointed because we could not make an informed decision with the lack of service and knowledge we were offered. The manager was present but did not seem too interested in stepping in the make sure that the new girl was giving accurate information, help her make a sale or much less make sure the customer was happy. I don't think I will return to this location. I would certainly not encourage anybody i known to go there either. read more

I have had a bad experience at Zales Valley Fair, so bad that I have to go to other Zales stores to have my rings serviced. This location the staff are super friendly and they take care of their customers. All my rings were inspected thoroughly, and came out of the bath as shiny as the day I purchased them. I was so thrilled with my experiences at the Zales Outlet. The first time I went in, I went to have my wedding band sized that was bought online. Due tot he design it couldn't be sized, so i exchanged it for a ring instead that at the time I really liked for the money I wanted to spend. She told me what would be your MUST HAVE ring if you can have any of the rings, I chose it and due to the outlet being 60-70% off retail already, then with the daily special of 15% off, and another discount- the ring of my dreams was only a hundred dollars more than one I was JUST OKAY with. The old man sold me a diamond ring with a big crack in the middle. Not too visible with the naked eye, but very visible with a magnifier. I don't know much about diamonds, this was my first purchase of the sort and he took advantage of my naiveté. Exceptional service. Yesterday my now-fiancé (he has proposed 2 days prior without a ring) and I visited this store to browse and figured we very much likely want to walk out with a ring before closing. I had nothing in particular in mind other than my love for yellow gold and halo so we showed out a bit before 6PM. An associate there named Anthony didn't hesitate to help us as soon as we arrived. He was very accommodating and patient as it took me an hour to make a decision on which I actually like. He was very friendly and informative too and was willing allow me to try on as many rings as I wanted before I decide about "the one". Despite of my pickiness and stubborn nature he was like I mentioned, very patient. The final ring (yellow gold, composite bridal set) I picked out was exactly what I dreamt of and bought it. He was also able to place a temporary sizer on the bottom of the band as I my left ring finger is 0.25 size smaller than the one in stock. The biggest news was when he said it was cheaper than he thought and I was even more happy. The rings went from $1700+ down to $1027 including discounts, tax and their Lifetime warranty. Weird sounding I know that my dreamt to obtain my engagement ring from a Zales outlet as I try to be as thrifty as possible and not put too much financial burden on my guy but I was happy I found something very nice. My son in law to be had purchased an engagement ring from Zales a couple of years ago. The ring was never used or worn and he wanted to bring it back to do a store credit towards a new upgraded ring so that he could finally propose. First of all the store wasn't open and had a handwritten note on it saying that they would be opening at a certain time. It was past that time. There were two girls in the store who were completely ignoring the customers standing outside. They finally came and opened the door 15 minutes past the noted time, and didn't say a word, like welcome', or sorry we were running behind', or even hello. They just walked away. So rude. Then when we asked if we could please get some kind of a store credit for an upgrade we were told no. Such rude girls. We will never do business with them again. My husband and i went in there after a terrible experience at Kay jewelers and we could not have been more impressed with the hospitality and care they showed in that store. It was Sue that first helped us but then Lloyd came over and he and my husband (thats in the Army) got talking away about the military. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Jewelery sales people are like car sales men, the push, they hover, they sell. I have a few cards to a few stores but for some reason I am always back at this one. I love Lloyd and Jennifer to death. They are like family, when I come in they ask me about things I have mentioned to them. They don't have to remember things going on in my life that I mention but they do. My husband bought my engagement ring a year before asking me. When we came in to get the band, that had been discontinued the day prior thanks to my husbands procrastination) Jennifer asked, you finally asked huh? (Wow, she remembered him and welcomed me like family) Jenn got on the phone and talked to Lloyd and together they found a store with my wrap I wanted even though the sku number had changed and they got it to the store almost over night. WOW!!! So we went back for his ring, They didn't try to sell me anything ultra fancy, they didn't hover, they didn't offer anything that was not even close to my style I was looking at, they offered similar items above and below what I was already looking at. So of course after buying his band I bought his groom gift and myself too. I bought 2 pairs of 1/2 karat diamond earrings nice quality both for $600 with insurance. I see them as having repeat customers than having the one customer that comes in once for a big purchase. So guess what? I've been eyeing a watch there, but the manager is such a biatch! Every time I go there and ask questions, she gives you this attitude that if you don't intend to buy anything, then don't even bother coming in! The watch I had my sights on had a dead battery in it and she said that she'll only replace it if I was going to buy it, otherwise, it made no sense replacing the battery. I told her that dead batteries in watches should be replaced immediately, because it may leak into the watch's components. She said she's never had that happen before. Is she stupid or what?! This location's outstanding associate Yarley has prompted me to write this review! My now husband and I first went to Shane Co. (where he got my engagement ring) to look at wedding bands. They were of course beautiful, but pricey. I suggested we check out the Zales outlet, and it did not disappoint! We were greeted right away by Yarley who instantly made us feel comfortable and excited about the process of finding the perfect wedding bands. We both found bands we liked that day but our sizes were not available and there was the possibility of them not getting resized in time for our wedding. Yarley, who is incredibly friendly and professional, assured us that she would do everything in her power to make sure we get our rings in time - and she stayed true to her word! We picked up our rings the week of our wedding (Yarley remembered me and was just as excited as I was!) and they both fit perfectly.
