Accidentally stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try even though reviews were mixed. I was prepared to pay a premium price as this place is located at the Gilroy Shopping Outlets, but I was pleasantly surprised price was not that bad for location. I had quotes from places in San Jose and Morgan Hill around 20-25, so 17.95 plus tax is okay in my books as it's also conveniently located in the area I was originally waiting anyways. I was the first one at his shop since it opened at 11am and he just took my watch and started working on it. Took less than a minute. Yes, I know he just pops the back off, but setting the time, and taking my payment was part of the 1 minute. I now have 1 hour and 58 mins to burn!

My friend and I had wanted to pop into a jeweler - so we tried one downtown Morgan Hill but it was closed Monday. So I google search for others and we headed over to Harry's. Closed until 1:30pm- we walked next door to Hobby Lobby to shop around a bit. Then went back. Walking inside the store you can tell that this is not really a jewelry store - it is more a custom made jewelry store where Jack will make your dreams come true. I saw from the sign that he will rhodium your white gold jewelry - and seeing that one of my rings needed some work done - left it with him ($75) to work on. Now this is one of my favorite rings, with my dad's baguettes from his wedding ring in it, made for me from a different jeweler - but I felt comfortable with Jack to do this. I just had a feeling I could trust him. About two weeks later when I had the time to go back (He had told me 3 days) I was able to make it into his store - and the ring just looked great, polished with the rhodium placed back on it to protect it as best it could. Now with the trust built in with his work - I asked him to make my wedding band for me. And he is working on that now. I'll b back soon to leave another review on that item!

I asked the Gal behind the counter, "By the way, are these rubies real?" The Gal whips out a laser scanner and scanned the stones in front of me -- and showed me on her readout, "Ruby." She scanned the other stones: they showed as "Garnet" and "Diamond." Another jeweler in town told me the stones were fake and offered me $350 for them. The Gal at John's Jeweler's gave me proof -- showed me the readout that the stones are real gemstones. John's Jeweler's is going to do the repair -- because I trust them.
