I selected a pound of various chocolates to get exactly what I wanted plus to avoid any possibility of the pre-packaged assortments being stale. These pre-packaged boxes however looked beautiful and all the chocolates were laid out neatly, with plastic wrap covering them so you could see what was inside. I figured the staff would place the chocolates I chose into a similar box and with as much care. Instead, to my horror when I opened the box at home, she had just thrown them into the box! You can see this in the photo attached. It upset my mom and is not the caliber of service you expect from a shop like this, furthermore, it easily could have been avoided: the girl who did it could have just placed a pound of candies into two boxes and tied them together with a ribbon or used a divider to create two layers in one box. There is no excuse, especially when something is clearly intended as a gift, for this sloppiness.

Question: I extend my hand and ask, "May I look at it?" Answer: "No sir. It has alcohol in the cherries. I cant let you touch the box." Question: "The reason I can't look at the box is because it has alcohol?" Answer: "Yes Sir." Customer Departing Comment: "Enjoy your chocolates." Clerk Departing Comment: "Have a nice Day." Query: How does one read the ingredients without holding and reading the box? My wife visited several days before Christmas in a prior year to purchase some Marzipan. She was told they were making some later that day and to come back in the afternoon. When my wife returned she was told it had been made but all of it was sold. Overall, I do not feel customers are valued by this business and would never return!!

The cookies were so satisfying I actually came back to order another one. I ordered the lemon blueberry one and the cashier, once again, offered me another free cookie. The lemon-blueberry cookie was also amazing. Buttery, with a tangy lemon flavor, the cookie was really moist. The other free cookie I got was a caramel chip one. This was more of a crunchy cookie with chunks of caramelized caramel pieces and white chocolate chips. You really can't go wrong with any of the baked good here. I do appreciate the fact that they prioritize selling fresh baked goods each day! Overall, I was blown away with the Bagel Bakery. Honestly I'm kicking myself because I haven't come here sooner. The bagels are extremely fresh, with a great variety, and the perfect texture. The cream cheeses are great as well and have a nice consistency. Everything had so much flavor here. I think that is proof they use good ingredients and take pride in their craft. All the cookies I tried were amazing and shouldn't be missed either. The service is above and beyond. Really made the whole experience even better. This place feels like a local place and they treat their customers so well. I had the little bacon, egg and cheese which had less egg than I thought I would have (like 1/2 an egg). Usually places give two thick pieces, which is why I decided to get a smaller one. But it was far less than expected. We have a lot of bagels around Tampa, and it honestly wasn't what we thought. It is highly recommended in Gainesville, so I would try for yourself!

I found some Enjoy Life trail mix & chocolate (like didn't even know that existed - score!) The man working in the store (perhaps the owner) was super nice and helpful. He and my hubby had a nice chat while I perused the other stuff. He wasn't pushy like most vitamin shop places. He had a regular customer come in & they seemed to know each other pretty well. It's always interesting to see how different places put their twist on the classic lox bagel, and for Bageland this means big pieces of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and a generous portion of raw red onions. This gave the sandwich a crunchy, juicy kick, but it was a little lacking on the lox, capers, and cream cheese. The bagel itself was about average. There is plenty of seating and a menu that includes all your typical breakfast foods, if bagels are not your thing.
