After passing this place many times (usually when I wasn't hungry) and reading all the glowing…read morereviews I finally got the chance to try this place. The interior is very nice and as I had arrived just after noon I had my choice of tables. I sat by the window for a nice view out onto the street. While I was waiting for my meal I was served a bowl of warm flatbreads (apparently made in-house) and a little bowl of olives. The main course I opted for was adana kofte served with rice and salad. The lamb was cooked on skewers which are then removed before serving leaving two perfect pooh-shaped sausages on the plate. And very tasty it was too despite the slightly off-putting appearance. The salad was very nice and a generous portion too. I just about managed to finish my meal (washed down with a glass of tango) despite the flatbreads almost having filled me up. The bill arrived along with a small, but greatly appreciated, cube of turkish delight. Service and ambiance was excellent, I look forward to returning and trying something a little less pooh-shaped.

Turkish food, mainly kebabs. A great array of starters too. We went for the Special Mixed Grill for two. All meals come with complimentary bread and olives. Service is friendly enough and the decor of the place is great. Great value, quality food. A great place for lunch or dinner

Amazing food! I love Indo-Chinese food and a family member recommended this restaurant for lunch…read more The staff is extremely friendly and the place has a great ambience. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and that gave us a variety of items to pick from. I don't like overly spicy food but found the dishes marked with two chilis reasonably spicy and very flavorful. Great lunch time experience!

TL;DR Delicious, and very accomodating!…read more I went for my work's Christmas do. Food was from a set menu and waiters gave us several carafes of water, which were constantly refilled. There were also jugs of coke and lemonade which they would walk around and pour for us. All this was free, but we had to pay for alcohol. A few tried to set individual tabs for themselves However, there were roughly 20 of us and 8 individuals wanting individual tabs. That would have been a headache for the staff, so we all ended up paying for each drink of our own as we ordered it (Seemed fair to me). Heads up if you don't drink: They do a big enough range of mocktails for them to be listed on a page! They sounded good and I want to try one next time. We only had a set menu but it was all delicious (And even the stuff I personally wasn't keen on was good quality)! There was a good range of vegetarian and meaty stuff and it was all surprisingly filling. Also, I got to try some new stuff. One of the colleagues I sat next to is pregnant. She gave the food a good go, but a lot of it was too spicy for her although she said how lovely it all was. The waiter asked if she wanted some milk or yoghurt, and brought out poppadoms and mixed-veg bhajis for her ( as well as a big bowl of yoghurt) and gave her ice cream instead of the dessert we were given. She even asked for his name and a business card so she could recommend the place to her friends and family. The service was very attentive and kind. I had a Kingfisher (£3-4)and a margarita (£7). Good value for booze, I think. All in all, I'd happily suggest this place for a group do! Here's the set menu we had (In no real order and possibly excluding stuff I forgot about): Starter: Poppdoms with mango chutney; soy sauce with garlic and ginger; minty yoghurty stuff and a spicy thing. Chicken tikka (Possibly my favourite thing) Strips of some chunky fibrous vegetable in a mildly spicy coating (I believe it was potato) Firm paneer (A bit like tofu) in a sticky sweet coating with peppers Little poppadoms with chickpeas, tiny sprinkles of what looked like noodles and yoghurt and minty-yoghurty stuff and sweet sauce of some kind. They were an odd mixture of sweet and spicy. I found those a challenge to my tastebuds but they were well-made and well-presented Lamb rolls Plain naan White rice Coronas and Buds that came from nowhere (I discovered I'm not keen on Bud!) Veg manchuria A chicken curry A curry in a spicy green sauce Limoncello shots with a lime in (Which I thought were tequila shots) n An Asian dessert with a thin, sweet yellow custard and little balls that had the texture of soggy sponge but might have been paneer. I personally didn't like that but it was something new Oh, and the interior is very pretty! Be aware that it can get quite noisy, however.

Great place to relish Halwa poori and Karachi style breakfast…read more The owner here is a warm persona and greets with a smile Makes it a point to ask if the food tasted great Yes it delicious The staff are polite and dutiful too Breakfast time Poori is undoubtedly my favorite breakfast And u can see me gorging upon poori bhaji, poori chole and halwa any time of the day. Halwa Poori chole is a famous breakfast combo which is so filling and nothing can be packed with nutrients in the morning than this breakfast. Halwa Poori Chole combination is quite a popular one and is linked with a ritual in INDIA - Kanjak! Kanjak is celebrated either on the eighth or ninth day of Navratri Kanjak used to be, and to a certain extent still is, one of many favorite festivals. Kids wake up to the sweet smel of hot halwa and fluffy pooris along with dry masala chanaa made in many households Today - tried to explore yet another place in London - famous for its Karachi fare and they USP is Halwa poori chole. Decided to relish this sinful combo and without a doubt it is delicious. The best part about Halwa poori combo - Suji halwa is just done right not too sweet has a dash of ghee and then the chickpeas (kabuli chanaa) curry is mild on spice quo but is melt in mouth one. The aloo sabzi is an added plus. Halwa Poori House - London offers various delicacies like - Halwapoori combos, irani chai, Kunna paya, lamb nihari and Haleem. Will be back soon

New door? Great! Nothing else has changed thought…read more Walked in and the music was blaring. We were quickly shown a table; the place was pretty much empty apart from a group of noisy youths; probably friends or family of the waiters because they (the waiters) were milling around them - didn't see them pay either. The table was obviously not wiped; no problem there - just did it myself. Drinks? Yes please; a large bottle of sparkling water. No sparkling water? OK then, a large bottle of still water please? No large still water either? Bring 1 small still water them please and glasses with ice. Here he comes with 2 bottles of still water and 1, yes one ice cube in each glass. By now I'm bored so I look up to the ceiling. 18, yes eighteen light bulbs out. Oh, and that area where the old entrance was, just a big old hole and some loose wire hanging out. Part of the new decor? There also seem to be a toilet leak from the flat above; yellow salty looking stains in their way to form stalactites staring blatantly at me. Apart from the dirt on the table there's so many scratches and damage to the table tops. All you need is a bit of sandpaper and varnish mate. Have some pride in your place. Meal was OK. Just OK. Let's pay and get out of here; the CC machine is out of order. Typical. So I wonder if that's why the youths didn't pay. So now we have to go to the bank 2 blocks away to get cash but only if one of us stay here so that we 100% come back to pay. Apart from being disgustingly dirty, this place has no clue of how a restaurant should be run and the franchise should retract from the owner which is probably the same guy who owns filthy Mirch Masala across the road. Note to the owner; a new door does not polish a turd Habibi. In another note; Steakout fits perfectly into Norbury - a third world establishment which wormed its way into a world class city.

Things did get better as our starters were lovely. We had the breaded prawns and chicken strips. For our main, we ordered the rump steak with a mushroom sauce, vegetables and potato wedges. It was disgusting! My steak was cut in peices and this was hidden under the sauce. Both our vegetables were cold. The waiter gave us one portion of potato wedges even though we ordered two...he never came to our table to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything else. We were very disapointed with the cleanliness, the food and the service. I would not recomend this to anyone.
